The Crown Hotel

My experience of a visit to this “Hotel” was really poor. We booked earlier in the year as we were attending the Eisteddfod in Llangollen but you can imagine our disappointment when we found that there was no hot food available either in the evening or at breakfast. I really don’t consider that a hotel. Our room was up three flights of stairs and the window was facing onto the A5 road with traffic pounding by throughout the night. As for the room and bathroom, one could hardly swing a cat round. However, everything was perfectly clean. The only saving grace was the lovely receptionist who greeted us when we arrived and offered to carry our luggage upstairs.. In order not to struggle up and down the steep stairs and bang our heads, we found it easier to exit the building from the second floor via the fire escape!

Do not book this hotel at any cost! I booked through *********** to stay for 2 nights. I needed to cancel 1night Hotel agreed to waver the cancellation fee. However there was a right mix up and *********** cancelled my whole booking and emailed me to say no cancellation fee. But the Crown Inn decided they were going to take a cancellation fee of £100. The room was only £80. I got in contact with the Crown Inn and spoke to a most nasty obnoxious rude and unhelpful person called JOHN! Did,nt want to help just told me to take it up with ***********. I have never dealt with someone with such a vile manner before. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

Booked a 2 night stay with this hotel but unfortunately was unable to stay due to family matter. I got in touch with *********** who cancelled my booking with no charge. A few days later I noticed that the hotel had taken the money from my account. I phoned the hotel to see if I could resolve the matter. I spoke to John who was rude and very unhelpful. When I said that I thought they were a reputable hotel with good reviews he said "go ahead and write a bad one, I look forward to replying to it" Not very friendly at all and didn't help me to sort out my payment issue!!!!

We booked here for two nights as a relaxation getaway as a couple. We planned to do the dee valley walk to Llangollen. Firstly we paid a little extra and had an amazing room. It’s immaculate and so friendly. Breakfast is continental and perfect to set you up for the day. In the village you have two pubs, post office, bakers and a grocery shop along with sit down Indian restaurant and take away Chinese. It’s everything that you need. John is so helpful and makes the place a pleasure to stay in. Carmen is just the best host ever. So friendly and helpful and she remembers everyone’s name! Such a pleasure to stay here, great hosts, great location and lovely rooms.
