Hotel SanMar

Room was very small - loft room so you could not stand up straight from toilet or at head of bed. We did not realise the size of the room but the it was very clean. There are bigger rooms available which were sold out when we booked but we did not realise just how small the room would be. No air conditioning but we requested a fan. Just a single window in the ceiling. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. Lovely restaurant attached to hotel and right on beach which was really great.

We really enjoyed our stay at the San Mar. We wanted a Cantabrian hotel that was right on the beach so we could lie in bed and listen to the sea, so this hotel was perfect. The playa de Luaña is a lovely beach with a small surf school and lifeguards/ first aid. Walk down the steps of the hotel and the beach is at the bottom- perfect! Our double room had a terrace which was nice although mainly on the shade from the afternoon on. The bed was actually two singles, and the mattresses seemed to be memory foam which were very warm at night. There was no air conditioning but we were anxious about mosquitoes. The hotel supplied a plug in bug zapper for the room. Rooms were made up every day, which was lovely. Fresh towels also every day. Breakfast was self service in the basement and was ok- a choice of fruit, yogurt and lots of bread, jamón and queso, with some croissants, jams etc. We had a drink in the bar every night and often played cards on the terrace. Service could be a bit slow. We had dinner in the restaurant twice (much preferred it to the one opposite) and food was good value. Overall a lovely place. Was quite expensive (€120/night) and often we were waiting to get the attention of the staff- both check in and out we were waiting for at least 10 minutes for people to come. Service could also be a little gruff at times. We would recommend a stay here- the location is also great with Comillas and Santillana within easy drives, plus the amazing Restaurant El Remedio.

Las vista a la playa parking gratis y poco mas como comer en un restaurante de los años 70 y el trato les queda mucho no se si es que les sobran clientes o son de fuera y les da igual cuidarlos, la comida nada apetecible, se puede comer pero no resalta nada . No volveremos

Está en un buen sitio para ir un día que se pueda comer en la terraza por las vistas a la playa, buen trato, camarero muy atento, amable y profesional, la comida muy bien y de precio más o menos como todos los de la zona .

El hotel esta bien y esta al lado de la playa. Nos quedamos en el apartamento de 4 personas y solo habia una cama doble y un sofa que se hace cama (pero duermes en el propio sofa, no tiene colchon). El sofa no es comodo para dormir dos personas

En una palabra, maravillosa. Un fin de semana con una temperatura buenísima, hacía años que no me bañaba en una playa del norte, la playa es muy bonita y el hotel a pie, pie de playa, con unas vistas inmejorables desde la terraza de la habitación y desde el restaurante (terraza). La habitación buena, cómoda y muy limpio y cuidado todo el hotel. El servicio muy atento. El camarero que nos ha a tendido los dos días en el restaurante muy correcto y profesional. La comida buena, sin pegas ninguna. Totalmente recomendable, volveremos.

Fuimos al restaurante. Las vistas, muy bonitas, pero hace mucho que no había comido tan mal. Mejillones CORREOSOS. No creía que fuese posible. Imposible tragarlos. Parecía que masticaba cuerda. La merluza tenía como mínimo tres días. Totalmente pasada. Encima un precio desorbitado (precio de buen restaurante). Un horror. Mejor ir a Comillas y comer bien por el mismo precio

Hotel con muy buena ubicación, ya que está a pié de playa y es un lujo poder levantarte y dar un paseo con esas vistas. Habitación coqueta y pequeñita, la ventana del tejado de la habitación cn esas vistas al mar alegraba la mañana. Es un hotel familiar, gente correcta pero no cercana. La carta del restaurante no tiene mucha variedad y es algo caro, pero cenamos una noche y comimos bien. El desayuno es básico y el Café de la máquina muy malo. No le pongo maña valoracion para nada, tampoco la mejor.

Lo único que tiene bueno este hotel es la ubicación. Sl trato es arisco y desagradable y las instalaciones muy básicas... y la comida bastante mediocre. Nada recomendable...una pena ya que la ubicación es estupenda
