Hôtellerie Saint Yves

Budget accommodations very close to the center of old town Chartres. Comfortable but spartan. The reason I rated it two stars was that my key was deactivated and there is no one, absolutely no one, working here or monitoring the property. I had to wait outside in the rain, locked out, until my friend luckily reached someone who came and let me in. Kinda scary as there is no help or security. I wish I would have picked somewhere else to stay. If you can afford a nicer room I would recommend you stay elsewhere.

Location closed to main attractions, room very basic but clean, parking available in hotel's courtyard, nice view over the city. HOWEVER: the lady at the reception was not friendly at check in; moreover she didn't mention the closed gate at night and how to enter, so we spent some time in the cold, until figuring out by ourselves how to open the gate door. Next morning, the lady serving and cleaning the breakfast room very rudely shouted at a guest and made her put the food she took back in the tray. Then, she came to me, while I was eating, and started to shout at me in French for a good 2 minutes, despite the fact I told her I don't know French and cannot understand what she wants. She might have been mad because I took a photo with the breakfast buffet, but the simple fact that an employee is allowed to shout at a guests is a good indication on how valued customers are in this hotel. Last not least, breakfast was very basic, with lots of foods constantly missing (juice, bread etc) because they brought only small quantities of each, that were quickly taken by guests. In short, a bitter sweet experience.

As someone else said, if you want a luxury hotel, this isn't it. However, it is a lovely buiding in a superb (though hard to access) location, clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast and secure parking Absolutely ideal for a stopover or a good value weekend in Chatres

Die Hotellerie St. Yves ist ein Seminar-, Pilger- und Einkehrhotel, welches auch Urlaubs-/Durchreisende aufnimmt. Es liegt auf dem Dom-Hügel und bietet einen super Blick über die Umgebung. Wir waren auf dem Weg nach Bordeaux und haben in Chartres einen Zwischenstop .gemacht. Tolles, freundliches Personal, von der Rezeption, über den Frühstücksservice, bis zum Housekeeping. Das Zimmer war 1a sauber und wir haben uns dort sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Das Frühstück ist so, wie es in Frankreich üblicherweise gegessen wird. Baguettes, Salami, Kochschinken, Käse, Croissants, mehrere Sorten Marmelade/Konfitüre, Joghurt, frisches geschnittenes Obst, Kaffee, Säfte, Mineralwasser, gekochte Eier. Alles superfrisch und gekühlt vom Buffet und Heißgetränke aus dem Vollautomaten. Es ist ein stilvoll umgebautes altes Kloster, im Frühstücksraum sitzt man unter Kreuzrippen-Gewölbe mit uralten Säulen und auf den Zimmern (toll renovierte Klosterzellen mehrere davon wurden jeweils in ein Zimmer mit grosszügigem Bad umgebaut).gibt es zunächst einmal - wenn man nicht explizit danach fragt - keinen Fernseher. Ist auch nicht schlimm, wir sind gegen vier Uhr angekommen, haben die lange Zeit in der tollen Kathedrale mit den Fenstern in „Chartres-Blau zugebracht und waren anschliessend im „Café Bleu“ essen. Danach hatten wir die nötige „Bettschwere“. Die Hotellerie ist in unmittelbarer Nähe der Kathedrale und zu netten Restaurants in direkter Umgebung. Ein Parkplatz ist vorhanden. Wenn wir wieder nach Chartres kommen, ist diese Hotellerie (gehört dem Bistum Chartres) unsere Wahl. Preis/Leistung: absolut TOP!

Chambre correcte, 99 euros sans télé. Un point à éclaircir: lors de la réservation sur le site de l'hôtel il était précisé "payez plus tard" mais une carte bleue était quand même exigée. J'ai donc fourni une carte bleue virtuelle, service de ma banque, chargée à 1 €. Quelques heures plus tard je recevais un mail de l'hôtel me disant que ma CB était invalide car ils avaient déjà essayé de débiter le prix de la chambre. Alors est il vraiment possible de réserver sans payer immédiatement la chambre ?

Hotel scelto per stare vicino ad amici che alloggiavano in un hotel nelle vicinanze che purtroppo non aveva altre stanze disponibili. La stanza era piccola e molto squallida arredata con mobili fatiscenti (allego foto) senza tv, senza asciugacapelli, senza bollitore, senza frigobar. Abbiamo pagato 94 euro a notte senza colazione. Buona solo la posizione vicino alla cattedrale. Infine l'addetta alla reception non conosce la cortesia e l'accoglienza. Hotel sconsigliato perché al prezzo richiesto si trova molto meglio, o quantomeno la gentilezza.
