Il Castello di San Sergio

This is 8th year we return to the Castello di San Sergio, a confirmation of our love for this b&b and our second home. Vincenzo, Silvia, Maria, and Olga make up the team that define the uniqueness of this b&b. These individuals are cordial and irreplaceable, in that they contribute substantially to the atmosphere of the Castello. The modern-day storyteller Vincenzo possesses an ability to captivate his audience while conveying important touristic information to his guests. The cure of the delightful garden is somewhat analogous to the garden of Windsor Castle. An immense applause to Silvia and her green thumb. Additionally, it is Silvia who prepares a wide selection of exquisite homemade cakes and marmelades for breakfast. We also came to learn this year she produces finocchietto, a local digestive. A word of caution: Once you experience the Castello di San Sergio, you may find yourself returning year after year….. Ernest and Roberta

The other reviewers got it right! Our stay at Castello di San Sergio was fantastic! The host Vincenzo, along with his sister and mother and warm staff, made our stay magical. Clean, large rooms with great amenities inside, but a breathtaking view from the garden and terrace. Wonderful tips for touring the Palinuro region. Great choices of local wines to accompany delicious charcuterie boards in the evening. Peaceful breakfasts with changing pastries each morning outside to soak up the view. What else can be said except we can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful stay at the Castello. The room was very comfortable, the view was amazing and the breakfast was excellent. A few upgrades in the bedding and towels with better quality items would make a big difference. The road to get there is not the best as it's quite small and not in great shape but once you get used to it is fine. We had dinner at the hotel one night and we found it to be a bit expensive for what they offer, 5 euros for a spritz seemed a bit steep. Other than that it was a wonderful place to spend a few days.

First time ever in Cilento and through TA we landed in this location. We got a so precious support/guidance by the owner - Vincenzo - on the “to do list”. Where to go, what to visit, where to eat (reservation included) were always perfectly fitting with our wishes and needs. Charming room, Palinuro outstanding view, delicious breakfast and evening chat in the garden complete the rest. L’immenso.

My wife and I decided to go on holiday by the coastal area of Palinuro. We did not know where to stay but in reviewing a few options on-line, we identified the Castello di San Sergio at Centola. The owners of the Castello, Vincenzo and his mother, graciously greeted us upon our arrival and showed us our room with a spectacular view of the Gulf of Palinuro. Our room was charming. The breakfast was abundant and included home-made pastries which was a real delight. Vincenzo was always available for questions and suggestions which contributed to a delightful stay. His suggestions on where we should eat, the beaches we should visit, and the historical sites to see were priceless. I sum, I would recommend this B&B without hesitation to anyone wishing to explore the Cilento region from an insider’s perspective.

Ogni viaggio è un'esperienza. Ogni esperienza è un vissuto che arricchisce. Dal Castello di San Sergio a Centola si rientra arricchiti. Non solo per la vista mozzafiato, non solo per le camere ampie, spaziose e confortevoli, non solo per la colazione genuina, golosa e abbondante, ma soprattutto dal calore e dalla premura di Vincenzo, autentico rappresentante della cultura e del calore del Cilento. Consigliatissimo

Una manciata di giorni fa si sono concluse due settimane meravigliose trascorse al Castello di San Sergio, un posto già bello di per se ma reso ancora più speciale dai suoi “castellani”, l’inimitabile intrattenitore Vincenzo sempre disponibile per suggerimenti su cosa fare e vedere nella zona, sua sorella, la dolce e discreta Maria e mamma Silvia, presenza defilata ma rassicurante. Il castello per me che sono in fondo senza fissa dimora da anni è stata una casa molto accogliente e loro la mia famiglia dal primo momento, quando sono arrivata in cima alla salita che lo collega al paese in visibile stato confusionale dopo essere sopravvissuta al traffico in uscita da Napoli di venerdì pomeriggio, fino a martedì scorso quando mi sono levata di torno che quasi tifavo Napoli calcio e mi sentivo ormai più parente che ospite. Insomma mollate tutto e venite qui per un soggiorno memorabile.

Un posto meraviglioso, una vista da sogno, pulizia impeccabile, servizi e colazione ottimi ma, sopratutto, il Sig. Vincenzo ha contribuito (con la sua simpatia, professionalità, dedizione, passione etc.) a rendere il nostro soggiorno indimenticabile. Non basta il massimo delle stelle! Siamo ritornati al Castello per il secondo anno consecutivo ed è stata un'ottima scelta. La struttura si trova a Centola in una posizione da cui si ammira un panorama mozzafiato sul golfo di Palinuro. Vincenzo e la sua famiglia si confermano ottimi gestori che con la loro gentilezza e disponibilità ti aiutano a trascorrere al meglio la tua vacanza nel Cilento. CONSIGLIATISSIMO!
