The Speckled Hen Inn B&B

Heather and Tom could not have been kinder hosts. Their hospitality went above and beyond. My wife and I were in town for our daughter's graduation. Heather made certain that our food allergies were attended to and Tom arranged for a special tour of the farm for our graduate and her roommates who were jealous that we got to stay in such a unique and caring venue.

Tom and Heather are hands down the best hosts that I have ever encountered. I travel a lot and have stayed many places, but this place blew me away. We stayed in the Madison Lakes suite and it had a private entrance, was beautifully decorated, fireplace, large selection of tv programming, amazing bathroom with large shower and jetted tub, a king bed with the softest sheets, and a nice surprise of cookies upon our arrival. I added on a cheese platter and wine to our stay and it was AMAZING. Not to mention the breakfast was SO GOOD. I originally booked our stay because I’m obsessed with llamas, but I’m now just simply obsessed with this inns breakfast, accommodations, family feels, and great conversation. I HIGHLY recommend staying here. I know we will be back in the future.

Tom, Heather, and the llama, horse, sheep and chickens made us feel welcome and relaxed. We chose the Heywood Hardy Suite--even bigger than it looks in the pictures, and so luxurious! We appreciated being able to choose our breakfast dishes (and manage food allergies), which were 5 stars all the way. This is everything you would want in a countryside B&B, yet surprisingly close to downtown Madison. We would be delighted to come back.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Spent time relaxing away from our hectic work schedule and enjoying the animals. Close enough to Madison for a quick ride to the best restaurants but still feels like a stay in the country. Breakfast was great, the owners were gracious and the room was wonderful.

Love going to Speckled Hen - beautiful place with amazing atmosphere and view. Rooms and beds are very cozy and comfortable. Home away from home kinda place. The owners are great people and make your stay inviting. The breakfast is always good and healthy.

My fiance and I came to the Speckled Hen Inn for a romantic weekend away and had a very relaxing, wonderful experience. We were greeted right away upon arrival by the owners and immediately felt welcome. Our room was spacious, had a whirlpool that easily fit both my fiance and I, and best of all - it had the softest, most comfy sheets we have ever slept in! The breakfast each morning tasted great and they had a lot of options each morning, including gluten free options for each breakfast. They had a very cool puzzle table set-up in main area and had lots of other amenities we enjoyed including a large wine selection and free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and popcorn to enjoy at any time of the day. One of the best parts of the Speckled Hen Inn was the animals they had on their property that they allowed us to meet and interact with! They had sheep, a llama, chickens, and a horse. The owners took time out of their day to make sure we got to meet the animals and safely interact with them including petting the sheep and the horse! Overall we had an amazing time at the Speckled Hen Inn and we absolutely plan on coming back in the future! We would highly recommend this to any couple looking to spend quality time together in a relaxing, cozy environment.

This is the best inn my husband and I ever stayed at. The inn keepers are so nice and friendly. This is our third stay at the inn and will stay their again and hopefully sooner then later. The breakfast is top notch and my daughter and her family enjoyed dining with us.

This was a wonderful place to stay, Tom and Heather were amazing and accommodating! Breakfast was above and beyond good with homemade items as well! The farm is beautiful and many activities to keep you cozy and relaxed all day! Would recommend to anyone to stay here and we would stay again!

My husband and I got away for a New Year's weekend and were blessed to discover an incredible gem in Madison. Tom n Heather are incredible hosts, the rooms are beautiful and breakfast was top notch! There were dozens of "little" extras that did not go unmissed! We felt like family and will definitely be back! ~Deb n Mike
