Movenpick Resort & Spa Boracay

To celebrate our Big 10th Anniversary and to scratch the pent up travel itch, we decided to fly to Boracay for a world class beach adventure. We booked two hotels. First where the action is (see my other review) and Movenpick Resort & Spa for a luxurious and relaxed tailend of our holiday.  PROS 1. First, I would like to thank Movenpick Resort & Spa for the surprise Anniversary room set-up with a delicious chocolate cake to match. Salute!  2. Beachfront resort with large open spaces and lush greenery. Very relaxing.  3. Premier seaview room was big and well thought out. Complete with a couch which can serve as another bed, a desk with chair and coffee/tea making counter. Big L shaped balcony provided endless fresh sea breeze and a wide vista of the partially blocked seaview (see my "Could be improved" input.  4. The multi-level Pool! The crowning glory of Movenpick Boracay may be the biggest in Boracay. Sol Marina beach bar in between the pool and beach provided drinks and munchies as we spent countless hours swimming & lounging between the pool and the beach.  5. Punta Bunga beach. The wide stretch of fine white sand exclusively shared by Movenpick with Crimson and Shangri-la was secluded and quiet. One can just borrow a Banig and just lounge on the sand for hours without people to crowd you.  6. Staff were well trained. Lifeguards, beach security, FO staff Ruby and Rechel and most specially Duty Manager Francis deserve commendation.  COULD BE IMPROVED 1. With the pandemic, breakfast was buffet but selection was scaled down. Understable though because of less guests.  We stayed for 2 nights/3 days. So by the 3rd day, the limited menu may become repetitive already. Maybe you can expand the breakfast menu a bit?  2. We had an issue with noisy neighbor one night but FO team was proactive to ensure no repeats the next day.  3. Since Movenpick is also a Spa as their name suggests, similar to other 5 star hotels, sauna/steam facilities should be free to use. Or at the very least, lower the P1,000 usage fee.  4. The premier seaview corner room has a restricted view since the 2 talisay trees have grown too tall and are blocking the magnificent view. Suggest to trim some treetop branches for a better view. Nevertheless, this Resort is now a favorite even compared to the bigger branded resort on the otherside because Movenpick's pool area is well lighted and bigger. We are glad we Moved & Picked this resort for a luxurious stay away from the crowds. 

We had a great experience at the Movenpick. They were very accommodating when we requested a room change and assisted with all our needs. Staff is friendly and efficient. The resort had many activities as well as entertainment during the day and evenings. Our favorite was the live music, dj and fire shows. We also went for spa treatments which was fantastic. Even their in house doctor was great! Breakfast was amazing with big variety. The food was well prepared. They have 3 different dining options for lunch and dinner as well as a little street food market on some evenings. We also indulged ourselves in chocolate hour everyday. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Overall we had a fantastic experience.

Very nice holiday resort with a beautiful beach. Clearly recommended. They offer a shuttle to White Beach or you order a Tuktuk. It’s a quiet resort for relaxing and families.

Amazing staff, always friendly and helpful. The resort is beautiful and great private beach. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful hotel outdoor with lots of tropical plants. Food is tasty. Accommodation is clean. Staff friendly. Rooms are fine, not the most modern but compared to everything else we had on the Philippines the nicest and the bed is huge and comfortable. Snorkeling in the ocean you can see some fishes and sea kraits. The staff especially makes you feel very welcome and made our stay exceptional. Especially the bar staff and towel/water activity staff - thank you! The pool area is huge children playground and quite noisy. An adult only area would solve that problem for the childless. Happy hour from 4-5 pm for reasonable prices 450-500 + 10% service fee pesos, BUT you can only take it to the beach in a paper cup (which really is no fun!). In the evening hanging by the pool bar was nice, always a bit busy but never loud or annoying. All food of all restaurant can be ordered to outdoor pool bar area and we had lovely evenings there. I can recommend the island ceviche and spicy salmon/tuna bowl a lot. Renting a scooter via an external service but in the hotel is ridiculously expensive 2500 pesos/day. The hotel offers a shuttle but could offer a view more choices. We went diving from the beach (2500 pesos one dive + 500 pesos for equipment) a bit more expensive than if you do it externally (but there is also a tour selling guy right next to the hotel in the same beach) but with Mövenpick you are picked up right at the beach and do not loose time with transport to White Beach and trying on you cloths etc. Our dive instructor Carlos from Scottis Dive School was great! All equipment will be later out for you on the boat, no trying on procedure needed beforehand and tank/west will be onboard if boat already put together and waiting. It’s very comfy this way and we loved it.

It was a great experience , Nice hotel , private beautiful beach , variety of restaurants and food , breakfast buffet is also ok but can be improved , far from everything so for quiet enjoyable vacation it’s your choice . Will consider coming back again for sure . Thanks to everyone there .

We had an absolutely magical stay at Movenpick. From start to finish it was the best experience I have had in many years. The staff are wonderful, kind and friendly. The restaurants are top class and there are many varieties of cuisine which makes it easy to find something for everyone. The private beach access is fantastic and convenient and when visiting the main center of town it made me so grateful we had our own beach access back at the hotel! The room was a little outdated but the bed was comfortable and at the end of the day we were really there for the beach and to be outside! ☀️ The hotel also had a great live band that performs throughout the week and you have to book a table if you don’t want to miss out! We will definitely be back and Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Very good experience. Took some time to check in (many staff at counter but only a couple seemed to be able to actually process people) but we were given an upgrade so cannot complain too much. Rooms quite sterile (could be made more homely) but large. Beach and pool are great, lots of places to sit, and not too busy. Tried several restaurants, all good food and good service. Breakfast a little chaotic (and the available coffee is terrible) but a massive selection.

Good hotel, location and little bit not good. But service and atmosphere so good
