The door is difficult to open and lock. The room lighting is so dim. Not enough lightings. The wash basin in the toilet did not work. Couldn’t drain out the water. The meals are good enough for both dinner and breakfast. The dune sunset watching is the best part of the stay.

I never think to go another resort in desert because this is the best resort in desert it’s clean and the food amazing and the staff very friendly and kind ( Mr Anthony from F&B) and ( Shanawas) because of them you always want to come back thank you

We stayed 2 nights here and this was probably about the right amount of time. If you only stay one night there is not much time to do many activities. We had a great time and enjoyed the whole experience. The wide range of activities offered were good and the dune bashing and quad biking was fun and we would recommend this. Someone on Trip Advisor complained about having to pay extra for these activities but there is such a variety it would be difficult to include everything in for free and keep the room price realistic. While there are a few other camps in the area this is the best one. The rooms are in tented suites. While not luxurious in the conventional sense compared with a hotel in Muscat they are great for staying in the desert. They were very comfortable. We stayed in a Deluxe Villa which we would recommend as there is living room area. We also used the spa and would recommend this. Much better value then in some of the hotels in Oman. The food is not the best we had in Oman and we found that they ran out of food if you did not eat early enough in the evening. The desserts had usually gone by the time we got to that course. Breakfast was also difficult as we were also having to track down missing items such as cups, cutlery, etc. However eating outside was nice because of the views. We also enjoyed the musical entertainment in the evenings as it added to the experience.

Great one night stay. Superb dune bashing. Dunes the biggest you will see... nothing to fault. Great food. 4x4 required. Sunset amazing

We arrived at the Desert Nights Resort after a long drive from the mountains. We checked it for a one-night stay - our room was a Deluxe room, chalet type, with all you needed for a one-night stay. The resort had arranged transport to take guests up the top the nearby dune to watch the sunset. Another amazing sunset, they never get boring. Our driver took us for a drive in the desert for a sand dune bashing, which is an experience you do not forget. There is only one restaurant to eat in, which is buffet style with a fair range to suit all pallets. Breakfast was also served in the same place. Complementary Camel rides (10 minute or so) were available after breakfast. We felt one-night was enough at this location and glad we experienced it.

This is definitely not a de luxe boutique Camp. We were booked into a deluxe room which was truly awful. noisy fan, air conditioning unit, router light pinned a pillow and blocked sink. Staff cannot care and even though we advised them we were unhappy they took no action. We checked out after the first night as it was so awful and they refused to give a refund for the second night. Occupancy was very low so they could have changed our room!!!!

Went here just to have a quiet night in the desert. What we got was a place specialising in cranking out adrenaline - quad bikes, dune bashing in 4x4s, sand boarding, ballooning etc. Food was edible but not tempting. My fault for not checking out beforehand and there seemed to be lots of happy youngsters.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay. The accommodation is sympathetic to the surroundings with modern luxuries like air conditioning. Buffet meals were delicious and plentiful. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our wonderful guide, Razack, took us sand boarding and quad biking. He tailored the trips to our mixed abilities and made sure everyone had a great time. The complimentary trip to the top of the dunes to watch sunset was delightful.

We had a wonderful stay, what a magical place. The accommodation was exceptional, staff incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved all the activities and found the scenery breathtaking. Highly recommended! A must on your Oman itinerary. Thank you to Gautam and all the staff for an extraordinary experience.

We arrived for a 1 night stay with our own 4x4 and it was easy. When you see other cars speeding past at 100 Km/h you know it is not much of an issue. The directions are easy - just keep on going straight. I was a bit hesitant based on the reviews and the value for money - but we had an excellent time and very much enjoyed it. The included activities were OK - especially the sundown dune view near the camp. They have an outdoor cinema, game room, and some other stuff going on as well. We only did as an extra the quads and it was a thrill. I thought the food was quite good - especially the Xmas dinner - which was festive, had good variety and was nicely presented. They had a wonderful local music group playing traditional music which is very much appreciated after 4 days of non-stop christmas muzak in Dubai. Rooms vary - we had the entry level room - very comfortable but nothing too special. The rest of the family was in a 2 br suite which was better outfitted - with a nespresso machine, etc. E.g. regular room has nescafe. Best pick a room type you are happy with. All in all, it's expensive but we felt we got our money's worth.

Definitely NOT luxury. We stayed two nights - big mistake. Prior to arrival, they sent me 3 messages asking me what time we were arriving… still don’t know why this was important. Then they offered a cold towel but no welcome drink of any sort. Then the nickel and diming started! Firstly the daily activities are outrageously over priced - like a camel ride for $200 cdn (for 1.5 hrs per person) and massage for $200 cdn per. Literally anything costs extra- even drinks ($6 cdn pop/water from the fridge). I paid for a half board rate that includes breakfast/dinner so it is bizarre that even non- alcoholic beverages aren’t included, especially considering this is a $400 a night stay. If you are interested in alcoholic beverages, they are available but at $20cdn for a glass of cheap house wine, I passed. The unit isn’t a glamping tent style accommodation but rather a concrete building with faux tent canopy roofs. The beds are okay, pillows have seen better days and very cheap toiletries are provided. If you don’t pay for activities- there is pretty much nothing to do. There is a lounge but the pool cues don’t have tips and the full table actually rocks (uneven footing), the board games are missing pieces and you can’t turn on the AC. The breakfast/dinner is buffet style only (no a La carte) and is okay. Breakfast has the basics to be expected - omelette station, a selection of fruit, cereals, sausages, bread etc. Dinner there was a pasta station and a fried rice station. Minimal seafood but could find lamb, chicken and beef for proteins. A decent selection of sides and the desert bar was wide. If you are staying two nights - you have to pay for the lunch you are here (also pricey as places in town are way more affordable) so we ended up eating some leftover snacks we had. Our first night, it was LOUD with trucks racing up the near by hills, second night was quieter. Another posted said it best, they can’t be both relaxation and thrill/adventure base camp - pick one. As a whole, I would recommend looking at other options for a luxury desert stay.

Fabulous Camp with great service and food is quite good as well. We had a pool villa and it was fantastic after a long day of adventure and sightseeing. What was really exceptional and excellent was the private BBQ that we booked and asked for. They went above and beyond and made this a unique experience for us. Big thank you again! The food was outstanding and we had a great evening in the dunes. The buffet is ok both for dinner and for breakfast. In the evening they have a nice lounge outside for drinks before dinner. What is really strange is a big monitor with some movies while the atmosphere in the desert would be much nicer with this. This is disturbing and does not fit at all.

The most amazing experience in desert Nights Resort camp. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Shanavay in particular was fantastic in helping me confirm my transfer from the camp. I can’t wait to come back!

This is an exceptional place to stay in the Omani sands - elegant, very well-run, with lots of activities and a great buffet... Not cheap, but worth every penny! The rooms are stylish and the seating/dining outdoor spaces great. As I had not rented a 4x4, they collected me from the Al Maha service station in Al Wasil, 12km away - which made everything easy. Particular thanks to the wonderful Shanavas on the reception desk - cheerful, smiling and super efficient. I can't wait to come back...
