Hotel RH Royal - Recommend for Adults

Once again our third year of returning to this hotel,as usual staff are amazing nothing too much trouble for them ,Andreaus made our holiday so so funny great personality & great at his job.Evening Entertainment was better this year apart from the circus thought it was more for children, we will be returning next year again

I stayed here a few years ago and booked it as it is adults only and near the old town. I was happy with our room, we still had a free safe which was a good gesture. The staff were all lovely and they recognised our room number after a while. Only gripes are the bar at night is packed and we couldn't get a table very easily, it didn't help that this was a very clicky hotel and people seemed to be sitting in groups and grabbing the same tables and chairs every night. It was witnessed some A/I guests were getting free drinks for their friends/associates who either were not stopping at this hotel or were on a H/B basis and were making friends to get free drinks. It was lucky that if you were on a A/I package you could use the bar across the road at the Victoria hotel which we did and others did to get a table and a quiet drink. The staff at the bar there were very nice also. Also the noise insulation between floors is poor, we had elephants staying above us. Another gripe is the sun terrace is very smoky, it is a small area and has glass sides and retains all the cigarette smoke that passes onto your table. In this day and age, the smoking there should be banned. My husband had bad diarrhea during the holiday and thought it could be the beer? I don't drink beer so had no problem myself. Last moan, the show chefs kept disappearing from their work station, usually to keep taking plates of paella for their mates back into the kitchen. And there is no tourist tax in Benidorm as yet, don't believe the rumours their is. I was told false info by my travel agent?

This was our 2nd time to this hotel and we love it, the hotel is amazing, excellent cleanliness, amazing food and all the staff are extremely friendly. We love everything about this hotel and we are coming in back in October as an early 50th birthday present for me. We can’t wait to be back.

We loved this hotel it was fairly small in comparison to others. Nice calm dining room plenty of choice where to sit good food, we were half board. Pool area is good gets sun most of the day and we always got a sunbed. Our room was on the smaller size but clean and comfortable. I must mention the staff who were lovely helpful and welcoming a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great stay.

I am a frequent guest at RH Hotels in Benidorm (Victoria, Princesa), but this was my first visit to the Hotel Royal. I have always thought highly of RH Hotels until this first stay at the Hotel Royal. I booked it to avoid the busiest season for families with kids since it is an all adult hotel. On check-in, I was given a single room (quite nicely appointed with balcony), and I noticed the temperature was quite warm, humid with weak air conditioning while temperatures outside were in the 32-33 C range. In addition, the sliding window lock was broken on the balcony on the 1st floor. After not sleeping well due to the AC, I went to the front desk where I was greeted by an older lady (name started with a K) who didn't smile or establish any eye contact. She acted bothered if you approached her in any way. I told her about the air conditioning and broken lock. The tech services team arrived in about an hour. They fixed the lock, but they admitted that the piping to the single end rooms was not large enough to carry the volume of air needed with these temps. They checked everything and said this was the best they could do. Another sleepless night laid ahead. The next morning, I encountered the same lady with no smile at the front desk, but I also saw Marcos, an excellent supervisor who I knew from several visits at the Victoria. He was super helpful, and he tried to move me to another room. Nothing was available! He told me that someone would call me that night if a move was available the next day. No one called! The next morning, I go down and find a new front desk clerk. I asked about a move. He said that I was being moved to a regular room today on the front of the hotel. However, I only knew this at that moment as no one had called as promised. Around noon, I asked about the move, and I personally moved myself and belongings to the new room. It was a nice, larger room, the AC worked, but as I settled in, I discovered that three English 20 years old had checked into a room together, where they screamed and partied all night. Thank god, they checked out the next day, and the maid told me it took her 1.5 hours to clean the mess they made (how about this for an all adult hotel?). Finally, I normally receive a welcome email from a Guest Relations person asking about my visit or from a manager. Nothing. I couldn't even find out who the manager was! Disappointing is understatement!!!! I thought that surely on check-out, some adjustment would be made to my bill, but NOTHING. As much as I like RH Hotels this was sloppy all the way around. 5 nights in a property and 3 nights with no sleep or sufficient air conditioning. I certainly checked out knowing that I was NOT a "valued customer", and that this property was in need of a good Manager. Kudos go to Marcos, Manuel, and Re and some of the dining staff. Somebody needs to retrain the front desk on customer service skills, particularly the older lady. I rarely write such a rev
