"I have just returned with a friend from a 4 night stay at this fabulous hotel, I just cannot understand some of the bad reviews, we just couldn't fault it. We went for a Level room which was huge with a seating area, large bedroom area with extremely comfy twin beds. There was also a walk in wardrobe and the bathroom was lovely with a separate shower, bath and double sinks and good quality Rituals toiletries and clean towels every day. The room was spotless. We had an amazing view across the golf course and across to the sea and Benidorm in the distance. Food was lovely with freshly cooked fish and meats as well as other dishes and plenty of salads etc. The food could have been hotter at times but it didn't stop us enjoying it and it was so nice to be able to eat breakfast outside overlooking the pool. Drinks were reasonably priced too. The Level pool was heated which was good and the complimentary drinks and snacks in the lounge were very good. All in all a fabulous break, highly recommended."

"Lovely location , but would have benefited from a hotel shuttle bus service into Benidorm town . (Spent a fortune on taxis ) Accommodation was lovely but no water in rooms , no kettle, rooms and balconies were plagued by ants . Our room had no cover on the smoke alarm in the bedroom. Lacking in hooks and shelf space in the bathroom . We had breakfast included but we arrived at different times each day and each time the food was cold ( great selection though)and no one to cook fresh omelettes etc . Also we had a 8am checkout, so we couldn’t get breakfast . It would have been a nice touch to provide us with a basic packed up breakfast ( fruit, filled rolls , water or fruit juice ) The on-site mini market( as advertised) was pointless as had hardly anything there and it would have been nice to have had outside seating at the cafeteria. Positives were .. free passes to Aqualandia , dolphin show, use of Grand Luxor Hotel swimming pool which was a short walk away . All in all not worth the money we paid ."

"Just spent four days here celebrating my birthday with my wife and meeting up with some friends. The room was immaculately clean and well appointed with all that we needed for our stay. The sun hit our balcony as well which was great for chilling out on. Special mention to Inigo who could not have been more helpful and friendly during our stay. The housekeeping was superb as well. Location wise Hostal Anna was perfect for us and we will definitely be returning."

"The hotel’s location is great, and the room is quite comfortable. However, upon checking in, I was assigned a room with a malfunctioning air conditioning unit. I promptly requested maintenance, but they didn’t send a technician. After multiple calls to the receptionist, they finally agreed to change my room, but their attitude was quite unpleasant. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options."

"I'm here at the moment, April 24th for 3 nights. I went to bed at 11.45 and as I write this it's 4 07 in the morning and it's roasting in this room. I've had to open the freezer door out of desperation for some kind of respite. It's the second night without air conditioning, which I've paid for, and is very important to me. All they say at reception is that they are changing from winter to summer That's all very well but I had no sleep the first night, no sleep last night and 100% no sleep tonight, no good to me. This place is ok, 2/3 stars when you look around. Rooms have enough space, clean, a stocked kitchenette and a hairdryer and a good shower in the bathroom where unfortunately, the rail falls off as it is not fixed. Can't say bad words about the staff as they do a good job. The venue room is ok for bingo and the like but too light and certainly basic. The pool is a good size and it's best feature and I wished I was in it now to get cool Too far from anywhere so if you have mobility issues it's a definite 6 or 7 minute taxi ride to the start of the old town"

"We stayed on the 18th floor the view was outstanding reading reviews before we left made me think what the hell had I booked but on arrival the staff was amazing we arrived at 2am and check in was fast the lovely man on the dest that night went into storage and got bucket and spades for my younger boys to play with on the beach the next morning.i normally have terrible sleep unless I'm in my own bed but I had lovely sleep the whole week the pool was amazing for cooling down after a walk into old town or to the beach all staff were lovely and helpful only down fall was no Aircon but fans were provided in the room we can't wait to go back in October as the apartment is in the perfect location for amazing restaurants and not too far to old town where our family live"

"great hotel close to the old town poniente side ten mins walk to the beach hotel its self is lovely and all the staff are great i had a single room very clean but all the hotel is very clean mainly spanish so the food and entertainment is geared that way but no problem to me great pool and bar spaces because its in a slightly more residential area there are no views but its fairly quiet around here there are a few local bars restaurants and little squares i got dropped of by the yellow submarine so wall towards the old town a little and take the road by the taxi rank on the left and walk up the road to pescados flores and go down the road opposite you can see the purple sign for the hotel police station opposite to walk to levante beach is about 15 and the strip is about 20 mins walk there was some realy nice people staying there both Spanish and English i enjoyed the food bar was great would i return i thik yes there was solo travellers couples and families im aged 67 but never felt out of it"

"The receptionist was very friendly, our room was very spacious ! The bathroom had a walk-in shower and a bath tub, large basin, and separated toilet and bidet. Breakfast selection was excellent. Everything you could want. The location was great for us, because it is close to the Benidorm Palace, where we were going, but if you were going for the beach, it may be a bit far. 4 elevators was ample We didn't use the Spa facilities, or the pool, so I can't comment on those. ."

"Good points: Clean and resort-like hotel room, 5-minute walk to the ocean, trendy bathroom, free use of auxiliary facilities (table tennis, swimming pool), breakfast/dinner included, but there was a lot of food, so I was satisfied. Shampoo and body wash are provided, and there is a terrace, so it is good to sit there and relax. Inconvenient points: It is far from the old town (20-30 minutes on foot), there are many pubs around that play loud music, so it is noisy at night, and the springs of the bed felt so hard that it was very uncomfortable to sleep. It is a 4-star hotel, but there are no amenities such as toothpaste or toothbrush."

"I have been to the Calypso several times now and I have never been disappointed. We got a good deal with jet2 just before the prices went through the roof. We requested a room near the lift due to some mobility issues and that is what we got This is the first time we had went full board and I am glad we did . Even though not very busy at lunch the food was fab , the same with breakfast and dinner . The rooms are basic but clean and have everything you need including a fridge and safe . One of the reasons I come back is the sunbed situation. There’s always plenty, no daft queues and if they are all filled ( as it was on Easter Saturday) they got more . Still plenty of space between them . Finally location location location . All the pubs are literally on your doorstep with the beach a 3 minute walk . What more could you ask for . The staff are all lovely as well"

"Not recommended at all. The staff's attitude was appalling; they were bothered by the noise we made while checking in, even though we were a fairly large group. They contradicted themselves, initially giving us space for a private party and then entering and being disrespectful, putting words in our mouths. They delete anything they don't want people to know about from Google reviews, so we want to use this platform to give visibility to the situation and let people know what really happened. There are thousands of hotels nearby and in the city center with good service. As for the facilities, the cleanliness wasn't very good, not to mention the food, which was basically the same for lunch and dinner, with no variety. Regarding the air conditioning, they decided to turn it off at 8 pm, even though it was 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit), forcing us to sleep with the windows open… Don't book this hotel; it's nothing but problems…"

"Had bed and breakfast. Room a good budget room. Clean and tidy. Staff really friendly. Quality breakfast but it wasn't hot every morning. It probably could easily be remedied. It's central location but be warned if you have mobility issues the bus drops you off on the main road and you have to walk about 5 minutes up hill with your cases and then back down to come home. All in all had a pleasant stay"
