Magic Tropical Splash

Just got back from a week at Magic Tropical Splash, 4 adults and 1 child, we had a great time! Was disappointed not to have free access to the Italian & Pirate bar but that's my fault for not booking ultra all inclusive (didn't read properly when booking!). Brilliant for kids with free kids club (11am-1pm & 5pm-7pm), softplay room, games room (€12 arcade games), pirate ship mini kids pool and big pool with slides etc. The pool felt cold when getting in but warm once in (same as every other Spanish holiday I've been on!). We didn't catch any bugs and the hotel is constantly being cleaned thoroughly. The staff are friendly and accommodating (my mum asked for room temperature red wine every day, they normally keep it in the fridge, and the bar staff started leaving a bottle out for her!). The food is very varied (especially in the evening) and we always found something nice. The rooms are slightly dated (could do with replacing shower curtains with screens/cubicles) but absolutely fine/comfortable & spacious overall. We were in tower 4 and our balcony overlooked the entertainment/pool area which suited us in the evening. Had no issues with the lifts (heard tower 1 did though). Definitely a hotel for families as so much for kids to do, we would return but book ultra all inclusive next time.

Fun family resort. Watermark excellent. Great choice of food and clean room. All staff were friendly. A short walk to nearby beach which was never crowded. If you want to go into Benidorm the number 2 bus will take you there for about a Euro each. But be aware that this is a circular route. You don't need to change the side of the road when you come back.

We traveled with 2 16 year old boys and our 4 year old daughter. We knew once we entered reception on check in that the place is kept immaculately clean. Always someone on the door when you’re coming in and out. Someone in the lobby to show you which lift to use. Check in is quick. We arrived before 1 and were lucky enough to have our room ready. We had a 2 bed carribean platinum room. I was amazed to find a full sized double bed in living area. We were expecting a sofa bed. Plenty of room for the 5 of us in the room. Cleaners were in every day, towels and toilet roll restocked. We were on the 19th floor. On Sunday one of the lifts was broken but we weren’t expecting it to be fixed on a Sunday. We found the lifts fine. A little slow at times but we were on holiday no rush. Pools are fab. Plenty of space. We never put a towel down on loungers. We always found one. We enjoyed the entertainment and kids disco. My 4 year old did the kids club a few times. She loved it. Made key rings, magnets got tattoos and face paint. Entertainment staff are excellent with the children. All drinks were great. Good selection. The food was lovely too. We all found something every night to eat. We brought our own cups which I got that tip on a Facebook group. We had an amazing chilled out week. The staff work very hard in every department and the whole complex is kept very clean. We will definitely return to this resort. Thank you magical tropical splash for an excellent holiday.

Just got back as a family of 5. After booking my holiday, I’ve read so many bad reviews, but I’ve decided to give it a chance as I am not a picky person and always try to see things from a better perspective. But not this time… please don’t be fooled. First person got the stomach bug shortly after 48 hours from coming there. Then after 24 hours another one and than another one. Eventually 4 out of 5 of us got ill and needless to say we hardly had any time to spare. I’m pretty convinced that it is the problem within the hotel itself, ‘coz we go on holiday every year for several years in a row now and it never happened before. Ever. And now for the smell. What’s wrong with it…you can smell it near the restaurant and it doesn’t give you positive vibes I tell you. I’ve read before that “the stuff is constantly cleaning”. No, it’s not. Defo no. Please think twice before even considering buying holiday here. If you mix the surrounding dirt everywhere and you’ll add a bit dated infrastructure plus increased possibility of getting a stomach bug you’ll get highly overpriced Magic Tropical Splash. I will never come back and that’s what I advise you too.

Don't book its dreadful!!!! We are here right now with 2 under 2. Our 1st room was mouldy and dirty and had so many broken items we have been given another room. You have to pay £6.50 per night for a cot on a holiday costing over £3,000 for 2 adults and 2 FREE infants under 2!!! But we revived the cot free as compensation for the awful room. The soft play is dangerous!!! The netting is broken and my 22 month old fell 5 feet this morning!!!! One of the reasons we booked was the soft play. But day 1 we can't use it now for the rest of the stay! We have come back.to get changed now on our 1st full day and have to wait 45mins for hot water as its a hot water tank and needs time to heat up?!?!! The food is cold... but hey you get a microwave to heat it up! Using a double buggy is a nightmare! The place is too small. Our standard double buggy which is totally fine in the UK struggles to go through doors causing severe discomforts to our babies. The lifts are very busy and your waiting AGES!! You have to rent drinks cups at £1 ?!?! All the extras you get for being 'ultra' you need to pay for transportation. The pool area is overcrowded and people smoke everywhere and management do nothing. Just like they do nothing about the towels on all the un used sunbeds! We were told a manager would be with us in 5 - 10 mins.... that was 30mins ago! Avoid, avoid avoid!!!!!

1)Only been here 1 day and already hate it here. Got stuck in the lift and had to call the emergency line who didn’t speak a word on English and got put on hold… finally had to pry the elevator doors open to get out otherwise who knows how long we would of been stuck in there for?!. I had a complete hyperventilating panic attack after only being stuck in that lift for 5 minutes and when we went to reception to complain all they could say was that the lifts in their buildings are owned and operated by a third party and so it’s not their fault smh. 2) The 3 bed 2 bathroom apartment we have been put in is horrendous, it’s on the 22nd floor and we’ve had to climb the stairs a lot already due to the faulty and dangerous lifts, a lot of the windows have been taped round the edges so you can’t get fresh air which is awful to deal with especially during nighttime when temperatures are still around 20-21 degrees, the sofas looked nice at first (probably cause of the coloured sheets covering the damage to them) but then when we removed the sheets we found the sofas looked like cats had been at them as their are chunks missing out of them, lots of stains on walls and ceilings, inside wardrobes etc, the bathrooms are not fitted right… the shower curtain in one of the bathrooms is too short for the bath space and so the water sprays everywhere when you shower also the large round shower head is broken on one side and so the water goes everywhere whenever you use it. In the other bathroom the small shower head holder is completely almost off and so can’t use that shower head at all anymore. 3) We’ve requested to be moved to the 10th floor so that we don’t have to use the broken, outdated lifts but with all 6 of us ( 4 adults + 2 children) it could be a challenge as the only ones available on that floor are 2 bedroom with 1 bathroom which will be a struggle fitting everyone in so it’s likely we will have to use a sofa bed to have a adequate enough time here. Absolutely disgraceful, we paid nearly £7000 for this 10 day holiday and we're having to be downgraded from the 3 bed two bathroom apartment we paid for for now a smaller 2 bed 1 bathroom apartment just so we feel safe and comfortable staying here due to their poor management of those scary lifts that almost got us trapped. Never staying here again, they advertise it as this wonderful place but it’s anything but. Only positives are the views (at a higher level), food and drink buffet restaurant as well as the pools. On our last day leaving this hotel hell my younger sister got stuck in a lift with a suitcase and had to be rescued. Then because of the situation we almost missed our coach transfer to the airport and when we shouted at reception and complained all the hotel staff could do was shrug at us. Absolute rubbish service. Never coming here again. The food was dreadful, we had to eat out every night and spend money even though it was an all inclusive. The entertainment was the same more or less every night. Pool and slides were great to be honest Room was a good size aswell, transport was always available and drinks were mediocre. All round not the greatest of an all inclusive but certainly not the worst, It's not a 4star it's a 2star probably 3 at best depending how many drinks u have. It need a massive update refurb as it feels like a massive bingo hall as if your at skeggy or Blackpool and considering how much you pay for and all inclusive holiday they can definitely afford it.

I don’t usually write reviews unless we’ve had an amazing time on holiday, however I feel that the reviews I previously read aren’t a true picture of the hotel. Jet2 holidays have this hotel graded as 4 stars however I would only rate at a 3 stars at the most. Nothing wrong with the hotel but definitely wasn’t a 4* hotel. Rooms were spacious but dated, balconies filled with smoke if you had neighbours who smoked and it also gets in the room. The hotel is so noisy all the time, every room overlooks the pools and music is going until around midnight, there is a downstairs disco but parents seem to stay by the pool with kids running round shouting until very late. There isn’t a quiet part at the hotel where you could relax and have a sleep in the sun. Oh and there is the queuing for sunbeds at 8am, gates open at 9 and everyone is dashing to put towels on beds, then they all go to breakfast, so best to get into breakfast before 8.30 or after 10 as it’s mayhem otherwise. Did make us laugh watching everyone from our balcony running to get their sun loungers. Kids entertainment is pretty rubbish, website states 3 kids clubs, 0-3, 4-7 and 8-12 age groups however there is no club for over 8’s and the 4-7 was mainly just colouring in a small none Air con room. There is a old climbing/slide play area with very small climbing wall and most of the time there were older kids hanging around this area as is poked out of sight, my 6 year old was too frightened to go play most of the time due to older kids kicking the slides. There are 2 day activities for kids in the pool, which is the same every day, mat on the water to run along and dive in and also pool netball. The games room would be better if it had gaming for younger kids, the room is mostly aimed at teenagers but you only get 45 mins and have to book. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Food is ok, always something to eat, however a bit more flavour would have been nice. Plus evening meals don’t start until 7pm which if your child wants to do evening disco at 7pm, you’re eating quite late for little ones. Not really enough seating for evening entertainment and the entertainment is very repetitive. Quite a few nights we went for evening meal after 8 pm as everyone rushes to eat at 7, then rush to hog chairs for entertainment. We are at the in house Italian and Pirate Tavern, both have basic limited menus and we found the buffet better. Kids pools are good, a small pirate ship for younger kids, paddling pool for tots and a slide area on the back of the hotel, then a slide area at the front of the hotel. Probably best to bring neoprene swim shoes as our kids got sores on their feet from the rough flooring on the steps up to the slides so had to purchase some whilst there. We went to the beach 3 days and kids really enjoyed and we also went to the zoo and aqua park, free tickets on the ultra, which was a good day out of the hotel. Fab hotel! Family of 4. Rooms are super spacious, it’s great that you get a seperate room so kids can have their own room. Really clean. Big balcony that we could see the beach from, the whole pool area, and evening entertainment! Pools and slides are amazing kids loved it, lots to choose from! Love the fact there are life guards too and they are very vigilant. Puts you at ease. Food was great lots of choice, I ate everything from the sushi, fish, chicken, cheeses, salads, desserts, all cooked and presented well. Entertainment was really good, from the day time through to the evening always something going on. We really appreciated how hard the staff at all points in the hotel are working! Really clean there’s always someone walking round tidying, cleaning in all areas. Location is good, 5 minute walk and your on the beach. We took a 15 min taxi into Benidorm. We also booked the zoo with the help of the hotel which was really good. I’ll finish this of by also noting that there was absolutely ZERO sickness here (I read previous reviews and was so worried) we were fine, kids fine, saw absolutely nothing to indicate anything other than this is a fab hotel, full of people loving their stay and anyone I spoke to was really enjoying the hotel.
