Wyndham San Jose Herradura Hotel & Convention Center

We were prepared when booking this hotel from existing reviews by others. What happened turns out disappointing. The room on 2000 series on second floor seems an old unit, no shower floor towel, bath tub a bit old but functional, no fridge and so on. We were prepared for all that considering the price and location. At bed time, we found two bugs on bed linen but dusted them off. It's tropical a**osphere, what one expect! The next morning after breakfast, however, I found a few more on my bed. I pulled out a one of my credit card and killed a few. When pulled up my bed cover further, more showed up ...... See the bug in the video clip. I called front desk who sent a room services personnel to look at it. The personnel seems surprised to see the bugs as well. The front desk lady was nice and quick to act and changed my room to the room on 6000 series and okay with us. I requested to talk to their manager. Once back in late afternoon that day, I approached frondesk rep who went to backroom to fetch for the manager. The manager showed up in a while and apologized lightly, and started to push back by saying it's tropical weather here,bugs are normal, and many more. I told him that the room is infested too bad and need a thoughrou cleaning to eradicate the infestation. The manage then went on to explaining the same. I feel disappointed. For this hotel, I do not recommend this hotel until they do a good job. Or if you do like us, not exactly though, do make sure to ask the right question to avoid such a room. Good luck next time.

The most unorganised hotel I have ever been to. Check in is from 3pm and so we arrived at 4pm to be greeted to a huge queue of people unable to get their room as none of the cleaning was completed. Reception told us it would take 30 mins to get a room which was a complete lie. We kept going up and checking and they kept saying another 10 minutes which carried on for 2.5 hours at which time we only received the key to 1/4 rooms I had booked. Other guests we spoke to waited over 4 hours for their room key. We were given one soft drink as a concession for this which I thought was unacceptable. Instead of waiting around to be told further fake waiting times, we left the hotel to go back to town and then on returning at 11pm, the new receptionist had no idea about the issue and struggled to find our other rooms we had been waiting for, resulting in more waiting around after already being frustrated about the situation earlier. Eventually the receptionist from earlier appeared in a very dismissive manner and shoved a post it note with our remaining room numbers for the man to find. Not good service at all. The next day we booked a shuttle bus to the airport. We got to the designated spot and they had run out of room on the bus despite us pre booking. This means we had to wait another 30 mins for a bus to be organised resulting in us having less time at the airport to get through security etc. The actual hotel is fine with a nice pool area (one of the reasons we had booked but were unable to use due to no room access for hours on end) but the management of this hotel is atrocious. Wyndham need to look at this urgently as it is dragging down their name as a trusted hotel chain. I will never be staying at a Wyndham again if they can’t guarantee a stress free experience.

We arrived at the check in time and our room was not ready for another three hours. Most people checking in were in the same boat and when I went back down at 8pm there were still some families waiting for a room. Good options were limited which resulted in me needing to walk to macdonalds. In the morning we were running late for our flight. They offered me the 7am shuttle to the airport but I asked them to call a taxi so that I could get there a few minutes sooner. The taxi never came so we got on the 7am airport shuttle and when we got there he said this is my taxi and that I owe him $20 for it. Even went as far as to call the receptionists to have her reiterate this to me. I paid them because I was in a rush and did not want to make a scene with two children under 3 in my presence. This hotel scammed me.

checkin was long and confusing . . .we were assigned a room and it was occupied when i opened the room . . in shock and angry. . we were given an upgrade but not sure what the difference in the room was ... it faced a parking lot. . hotel is very large . . walk forever down hallways . .

Horrible!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Can’t believe they rent room with cut off water. No manager on duty and front dest not helpful. We had to leave with out be able taking showers or even toothbrush

No elevator to carry luggage to your room. Someone had to take it up piece by piece. No water pressure in shower. At 6am there was very little warm water to shower. Bathtub floor was chipped or worn. Ordered food in restaurant and never got the steak. I should have known that you get what you pay for. Nice lobby and people.

I stayed at this hotel due to the proximity to the airport. Staff were friendly, I requested a taxi as I had an early flight in the morning and when I got to the lobby there was no taxi. The front desk called one and I was 30 mins late checking in at the airport. The pool was quite dirty and murky, and I saw a massive cockroach in my hotel room. The hotel is quite large as well, I imagine the upkeep is a challenge. The Japanese restaurant closed down, and the other 2 restaurants were short staffed so there was a long wait to order. I would look into a boutique hotel next time.

Difficult to rate this place. The staff is great - Professional, courteous, helpful, etc. But there are just a lot of little things that don't get attention. And the resort is a little tired. But on the other hand - it has a lot of amenities and the price is reasonable. Location is central. My suite was huge and awesome. So I like it, but wouldn't put someone there that has high expectations. Awesome gym for a hotel. But was very disappointed when I tried to workout on Saturday and found out they close it at 4:00. Pretty ridiculous.

Reasonable place to stay. The shuttle service to the airport was helpful. The hotel is quiet and the beds comfortable. Cleanliness could be improved but this might be due to the fact that we were in the older part of the hotel.
