The resort is very nice, the location is perfect. However, when we first arrived the water wasn't working. It was then fixed but it looks a yellowy colour. Insect repellent doesnt seem to be working in the room ( its a plug in one) the lady sprayed the room on day one which worked but apparantly they have run out of it. We had an early start and the breakfast in the lounge was our only option, the bread/ croissant were roxk hard and dry. Other then that the usual breakfast is ok. I would recommend getting the edge water reservation for dinner the good is better then the Mercardo. We got half board but the catch is that ypu have to pay for drinks and water, which you obviously can't eat the food without, we came for are honeymoon and expected it to be included not having to pay extra for drinks. Lastly we found a waiter who was amazing and has sorted us out this trip, his name is Muzammal, he has literally made it amazing at the outrigger!

Check in by Krishna was very cold & not welcoming. Surprised that this individual is allowed to check guests in. Cold , no smile, rushed, unpleasant. I was not done finishing my welcome drink and he was in a rush to bring us to our room.
Rod, front desk manager, nice & welcoming. Ensures guests are happy.
Resort: older resort in need of renovation. Reminded me of cuban resorts. Old furniture, dated AC but blows nice cold air. Generous room space.
Check out: unfortunately got krishna again while checking out. This gentlemen needs to quit his job. I was speaking in english and he continuously answered back in creole. I had to tell him if knows how to speak in english as my wife does not speak Creole. Bad bad service.

Had the best time ever at Outrigger. Staff was superb, great, very very kind, lovely and so helpful. Love the food. Wow the food and drinks especially cocktails superb. Very nice hotel and will be back soon and I highly recommend this hotel. The best ive been so far❤️❤️❤️ Diksha, Yoven, Ashley, Sharonne, Eveleen and All the staff thank you very much... special thanks to Yoven and his team also Diksha and her team. A big thanks to the following persons/departments who made our stay enjoyable: Reservation Team: Ms Geeta & Ms Nishtee were very polite and professional. The front office team handled our checking and luggage quickly and welcomed us. Executive Chef Jeetun is a great professional and courteous person. Despite his busy schedule, he and his whole Brigade at Restaurant Mercado and Rouben’s Wine Room, he consistently delivered delicious meals and excellent service, making our dining experience memorable. FNB Team: Mr Rungasamy, Mr Pravesh and his brigade Swamy, Vishnu, Kevin, Yanish, Mihir and others. Room Division: The whole team performed an excellent job of keeping our rooms tidy and ensuring that we had a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and well-kept. The staffs working at the bar and Le Bleu also did a good job. This resort made us feel welcomed as Mauritians and there are no doubt that Mauritians and expats are all welcomed there!

Nice staff kind and helpfull but little bit slow.Dark part of the sea , seen on google satelite is not moss ,its coral and lots of fishes easily accessible.Whole hotel covered with palms.Every night fine live music.Cuisine is clean fresh but avarage.

Right now I'm in the LE Bleu Bar having my first beer in the company of my wife who is having a cold drink served by a very young waitress , Miss Diksha who with her smile and courtesy behaviour make us feel VIP. My wife also find her very helpful.

I have to agree with the majority of what has already been said. 1 - Great staff 2 - Tired hotel which desperately requires a refit (rooms ok but in the spa taps would come off in your hand). I am told a refit is potentially scheduled for next year. 3 - decent beach 4 - the south coast is much more wild hence bigger waves and usually more unpredictable weather. I suggest using this hotel as a base for exploring the south rather than for a beach holiday only. 5 - Plantation club is well worth booking if you can afford it, makes a far better holiday with inclusive soft drinks during the day, niceish private pool area and free cocktails/drinks between 5-7 as well as afternoon tea and you can take breakfast there which is a so much nicer experience than the main buffet. 6 - overall very good food at the hotel (except Mauritius night which they sold as amazing but I actually thought was worse than any other night with less choice. Overall a good base for exploring the south but not a luxury hotel as in desperate need of a refit.

Was there for day package but will never dare to go again neither recommend to someone else. Here’s the list of pain points: 1. Lack of parking amenities. 2. Bad welcoming at the entrance. As soon as the man over there notice that I was for day package he turned his back towards me, not even help me with my baby cradle. 3. No welcoming cocktails were provided neither face towels. 4. No one guided me from where I can push the cradle to the Mercado restaurant. I had to carry the cradle including the baby including my bags and go down the very long stairs. Same problem while leaving in the afternoon. 5. The barman was too slow to take orders and even need to wait around 30 mins for the waiter to bring those drinks. 6. Lack of option for an AI package. Not even some snacks to accompany the drinks. 7. No changing room facilities. 8. The lunch buffet was so typical with lack of choice. Completely mess up vegetarian foods with non-vegetarian ones. 9. No tea break available in the afternoon! OMG! 10. There was loto games in the afternoon, I requested the lady for participation but she didn’t even care to consider and I was excluded. 11. Finally, it was raining in the afternoon. My wife asked the staff for an umbrella (which was available at the bar) the latter categorically refused by saying that those umbrellas were only for people staying at the hotel and not for day pass. Guys, you can imagine carrying back my children in the rain without any shelter or assistance. Will never never never go to that hotel again! Thank you!
