Achiotte by Masaya

A great stay in Barichara. We spent two nights at the Achiotte. Loved the location and proximity to the square. The outdoor bathroom did take a little bit of getting used to but the views from the shower were lovely! Lovely breakfast, nice pool area and friendly staff. A pleasant stay!

This hotel is just beautiful. On a street just two blocks from the main square You open the front door to a beautiful garden which the rooms face. The room is large with an outside bathroom connected to the bedroom Strong shower but no hot water. I still have it a 5 out of 5 because of how lovely it was. The pool in off the breakfast area. Breakfast was great. Staff were so sweet, helping me with my Spanish and how to get places. I loved this place.

Incredible accommodation. I went with my family and spent New Year’s Eve at the Achiotte Hotel, and it was outstanding in all aspects. The family who owns and attends it, is incredibly friendly and they offer an admirable service. The place is naturally beautiful, probably the best one in Barichara; the food that is offered is completely related to the region’s delights, the lodging is quite the perfect sort of things you are expecting when arriving at a hotel. This place offers without any doubt one of the best experiences you could live in this country.

This is a beautiful little hotel in a town that's too special to miss. From the moment you open the door and walk through one of the ubiquitous white town walls into the inner courtyard of this hotel, you are relaxed. Whether it's enjoying the afternoon breeze on your veranda or sitting by the relaxing pool, the lasting memory I have of this place is the people. Mauricio and the staff welcomed me, arranged transportation, helped me plan my stay in town, and offered really nice breakfasts every day. It was like leaving old friends when I had to say my farewell.

I was the only customer and I was upgraded to a superior room with a view on the garden and a hammock in front of the entrance. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, the bathroom was open-air and it was great to have a hot shower in the light breeze. There are toiletries, a safe, a fridge, no complimentary water, but that seems the custom in Colombia. The hotel has a tiny swimming pool, not good for swimming but enough to have some exercise. It would be great for children. The whole place is spotless clean and the owners are very friendly. Breakfast is served in the beautiful garden: juice, fruit, eggs with the best arepa I’ve tasted in Colombia, bread and jam, tea/coffee. The location is perfect, two blocks from the main square. I don’t think you can ask for more.

Divino este hotel boutique en Barichara, la atención increíble, el desayuno delicioso, acogedor, bonito, silencioso. Divina la piscina y los balcones de cada cuarto, así como las duchas al aire libre. Muy bien ubicado, cerquísima al centro de Barichara.

Hôtel à dimension humaine dans un beau jardin où les oiseaux s’en donnent à cœur joie. Chambre très agréable avec salle de bain à l’extérieur. Hamac apprécié ! Idéalement situé à proximité du centre sans subir le bruit ! Personnel gentil et serviable (attention la communication se fait uniquement en espagnol) Petit déjeuner avec des produits frais.

Boutique hôtel très mignon avec un beau jardin et une piscine pour se rafraîchir. Nous avons apprécié la chambre sobre et confortable avec mention spéciale pour la salle de bain ouverte sur l’extérieur. Les petits déjeuners sont bons et variés. Et le personnel agréable

Que lamentable situación me tocó pasar a la llegada al hotel, cuando hice mi reservación hace más de 1 semana, y me dicen que la alberca no está en funcionamiento y no precisamente el día de mi llegada. Habiendo tenido la gentileza de habérmelo hecho saber antes de mi llegada para así decidir en quedarme o tomar otra opción. La única excusa fue, ofrecerme un insignificante descuento del 15%. Llegando cansada y acarolada de toda mi travesía desde México , me dejan en una situación poco cómoda y nada cordial como se lo dije a la recepcionista “me dejas acorralada por qué no tengo más opción que tomar lo que está a mi alcance, dadas las circunstancias del momento”. Un hotel que escogí que entre varias de sus amenidades, el uso de alberca, me queda cancelada sin un aviso oportuno y con la propuesta de “tomalo o déjalo” . Mala estrategia para disculp****. Olvidaba decir que la habitación no 5 no tiene servicio de wifi. Pero si te la cobean en la tarifa
