"We stayed here when we did the Camino Portuguese, and this place was smacked along the route! The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful to prepare us for the continuation of our journey. As this is a small town, food options were not plenty, but we did managed to find a nice place for dinner before we retire for the night."

"Well located in the city center. Very attentive staff. Everything is clean and very hygienic. I only have one complaint: the showers in the bathrooms are very small and have a curtain that makes it very uncomfortable to take a shower. "We only stayed here for 2 nights as part of a walking tour. The house is beautiful and very thoughtfully restored. It is situated high up on the hill so affords lovely views across the valley and the viaduct. The food, both breakfast and dinner on both days was excellent and so nicely presented. We were given a packed lunch before departing, which was packaged in a lovely cloth drawstring bag. As this was early in the season, the pool was not ready. There was very little outdoor seating, but I’m sure there will be more for the summer season."

"Casa de Santa Comba is absolutely lush. The staff are very relaxed and flexible, having to arrive late was no problem, and they were very accommodating of us at breakfast as were vegetarian and there aren’t many vegetarians in Portugal! They were also very accommodating when we requested a fridge for our wine. The building and surrounding estate is beautiful, with lots of animals around – geese, horses, dogs, swallows, fish in the ponds – and lots of lemon trees bursting with fruit and beautiful flower bushes everywhere. A dreamy place, would love to stay here again. Will miss the bright morning song of the canary in their office which you can hear from the breakfast room!"

"This is a disaster, we booked a room and the hotel, a woman in particular, refused us access as soon as she got our IDs. She spoke to us very rudely. We ended up without a reservation with our children, knowing that we had already paid. We don't understand. This hotel is a scam. Avoid it."

"I was lucky enough to be booked into this magical place. It’s absolutely stunning. You receive the warmest welcome upon arrival. I had the most beautiful room. Cosy, warm, full of charm and character. I had dinner at the hotel and it was one of the most delicious pasta dishes I have ever had with the friendliest service. Such a welcoming place with everything you could possibly want after a tiring day on the Camino. I would highly recommend it. It’s not somewhere I would have know ln about if I wasn’t doing the Camino. But I’d love to come back and I hope to again soon. Thank you for an incredible stay. I just wish I was here longer"

"We felt so welcomed by Delfim, Carlos, and staff. The rooms are all slightly different and beautifully appointed. Bright, beautiful, and clean with delightful gardens, terraces, and court yards to explore. The view to the Valley and the gorgeous old rail bridge made a homesick heart more grateful. The gardens are stunning with an incredible view of the valley. The food was rustic and generous, thanks to Delfim's mother. I wish we had stayed a week. Two days was not long enough. "

"We had all-you-can-eat fruit for breakfast, and the fact that there was a bathtub was great for me to take a bath while walking along the Camino! The service was also very good. I asked the waiter where I could buy food. After all, it was New Year's Eve, and the shops were closed. So the waiter explained in detail where there were vending machines where I could buy food. It was so detailed that I didn't even need my phone to find it."
