Many years ago, I stayed at the Sophia main store when I came to Chengde. This time, I chose the newly opened Sophia Lizheng store to travel with my family. The rooms are spacious and bright. There are charging piles in the parking lot next to the hotel, which is very convenient for friends who have trams. First of all, I met the boss, who was still as enthusiastic as when I met him many years ago. Although they have experienced three years of epidemic, their enthusiasm has not faded at all, and their service has become more meticulous. This can understand that Chengde has opened its own travel agency. Each customer only needs ¥9.9 cents for the guide service fee. Professional tour guides will accompany everyone to visit the Summer Resort and give a detailed explanation of the entire history of Chengde. How persistent and passionate they are about the tourism industry. They also helped me book tickets for the circus performance, which is not only trouble-free but also... You know 😯 The hotel also has its own small leisure yard, which is very comfortable away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This time I took the elderly to the Mountain Resort and chose this homestay. I was very satisfied. The homestay is very new, the room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, and the fruit is also delivered. It is inconvenient to have no air conditioning on the first floor. Two rooms and two bathrooms in the second floor building are very convenient. The homestay is in the Lotus Mountain Scenic Area. The outside is very beautiful. There is no supporting dining around. There is a restaurant in the back. The dishes are not bad. The elderly like this environment. If you need breakfast for 25 yuan per person, you can order it with the boss in advance, and sometimes it can be delivered to the room. There are side dishes staple porridge eggs and so on.

This stay in Chengde is superb, must give five stars praise! The location of the hotel is excellent, there are lively shopping malls and convenience supermarkets just a few steps out, shopping and eating are super convenient. It is also very close to the Mountain Resort.
The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the facilities were all available. The hotel service is also very intimate, the staff is warm and thoughtful, and responsive. After visiting the mall at night, I can also rest in a comfortable room to relieve the fatigue of the day. Next time I come to Chengde, I will definitely choose here, I highly recommend it to everyone!

1. The room is spacious, and I especially like the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The green mountain scenery outside the window is pleasing to the eye. The night view is also very beautiful.
2. The service was very considerate. The front desk took the initiative to call us before we checked in and arranged an adjacent room for us and our parents near the elevator, which was very considerate.

老闆娘特別好，飯菜做的特別好吃。還能自己燒烤，可以自己帶食材，老闆提供爐子。來這裏團建聚會都是不錯的選擇，ktv、棋牌室、休閑區樣樣都有。吃喝玩樂都行。 一共有三個獨棟的樓 樓間距都挺大的，而且隔音效果特別好，帶着家裡一家老來玩，享受閑暇時光是可以的。房間也挺大的。全都是獨立衞浴。來這邊度個假，修個閑非常自在。對了帶孩子要去隆承水世界和大馬戲團的也可以在來這邊住。很近而且老闆還可以幫忙訂便宜的票。

By far the best accommodation in Chengde, in relation between price and quality. The service was amazing!!! I don't know how much money the reception ladies make, but they deserve a raise, every single time I had a question they were able to answer, from places to go, to places to eat. Limited english support, of course, but a translation app does the job. The room I stayed in was male-only. The beds all had curtains, an indoor light, and a private plug for charging, so no complaints. The in-room bathroom was always clean aswell.
The only con would be the amenities, no towel, no toothbrush, but I had brought my own so not a problem for me, and this is begging to look like common practice at hostels worlwide. And you need to make your own bed. Aside from that everything was perfect.

GGuest UserThis is the place to go if you want an authentic village B&B experience. The homestay is located right in front of the Jinshanling Great Wall ticket office. The owner is amazing! He was very courteous and responsive from the very beginning, before we even arrived in Beijing. We needed a way to get to Jinshanling, so he woke up at 3 AM so he could pick us up from the train station and drive us to his homestay, in a very clean and very comfortable 6-seater minivan. We were hungry; he called ahead and we had two steaming platters of homemade dumplings waiting for us. While we ate, he ran over to the ticket office and bought our tickets to the Great Wall. He also let us check in early and put our luggage in our room. We pre-ordered a simple farm-to-table dinner, and he went to the market while we were on the wall so we could have fresh local lamb skewers that evening. When we returned, we were treated to a very local and very delicious home cooked dinner. The next morning, he drove us to our next destination (Gubei Watertown). He also picked us up from Gubei Watertown and drove us back to Beijing. The entire time, he was wonderful. He was prompt and he did everything in his power to ensure our trip was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

MMaria InmaculadaMy experience was overall good, but the bathroom of the room I booked for the first night (single, queen bed) was so stinky at night that I could not bear it. I called the concierge, and the maid came to clean the bathroom (they were very fast= good service) but the problem is in the pipes, not in the cleanliness, (it was very clean) so spraying a bit of air freshener won't solve the problem. I changed rooms the following night.
Also, it was quite noisy at night and in the early morning, they should keep an eye on noisy guests.
Last thing, but not less important, people were smoking inside the hotel corridors and it was stinky. The management should try to enforce the rules of non-smoking. I understand that know nobody in the hotel wants to call on the smoking clients, but not enforcing the law results in other clients being unhappy too.
All in all, I would probably stay there again.

LLisilaoyeThe location is very good. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the Summer Resort. Taking a taxi to Putuo Zongcheng Temple and Puning Temple costs about ten yuan. Moreover, the hotel has its own parking space, which is too difficult to get. If there is a flaw in terms of location, it is that there is a railway to the east of the hotel, which is at the back of the hotel. The hotel front desk informed this when checking in, so be mentally prepared. There are about two trains every night, and I don't know why the whistle blows every time. The hotel's facilities are okay. There is a sauna on the ground floor and a self-service laundry room on the second floor, which is very convenient in summer. I stayed in a family room, and it would be perfect if there was a small refrigerator. The sanitation is good, the hotel is very new, the equipment is relatively new, and the Internet is very fast. The service is very good, warm and comprehensive. The breakfast was a bit average and felt a bit plain. If there is no complimentary breakfast coupon, it is recommended to eat around. There are many places to eat. Overall, it's good. I would consider it again in the future.

TTommy ChawAt the beginning it is hard for me to choose even the review is positive, but when I arrive and check in, I totally change my view. The surrounding is cozy, the room are clean with no cigarette odour even they provide ash tray in the room (suggest owner take away the ash tray and put a notice smoke at provider smoking area out side the premises), toilet are bright and water pressure is good (but hope the owner can make a little bit changes for the wiring system of the water heater), the food is tasty and size are too big for solo traveller (suggest to owner set a
price for small size for not wasting food), the owner parents are friendly and always give the good service. At night, surrounding is quite and good to rest. it is a walking distance to Jing shang ling tourist center but if planning to do the sunrise walk the owner will provide a transfer service to the entrance at 330am. Overall it is a good choice to stay here.

Upon arrival, the front desk let us know that the room we had booked online didn’t have a great view, so they automatically upgraded us for free, without my even having to ask. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The outdoor grounds are beautiful and relaxing. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was an elegant array of Chinese dishes along with a few western options.
Location is ideal—within walking distance to the Summer Mountain Resort and restaurants and shops. Would definitely recommend this as a high-quality hotel for a stay in Chengde.

GGuest UserI stayed in this place for two nights off season (at the beginning of April 2023) for a hiking weekend. The price was very fair (159 RMB per night) for a room with two beds and private bathroom, without meals. The restaurant was not open yet but the lady of the house offered to buy me breakfast and did drive me to a nearby restaurant for dinner (supermarket and restaurants are around the corner, 5-10min walking). The room was spacious and superclean with modern facilities and a reliable internet connection. The floor heating is helpful during still colder days and nights. The surrounding hilly landscape and rural countryside with endless meadows, fields, tiny villages, farmers, and an abundance of sheep, cattle, horses, donkeys, pigs, birds, and other farm animals is beautiful for hiking and horse riding, also outside the main season.

Front desk seemed to not really know how to register foreigners, taking a long time when it’s actually quite simple process. They should be kept updated on new immigration policies China has implemented to ensure smooth process for all the guests. Also they had quite hard time to explain in Chinese (on phone) how it works to get in to Jinshanling Great Wall.
Concierge however was nice and helpful. Their service was 10/5 and raises the overall to 5/5 from 3/5.
Restaurant is fine, prices are quite high but given that food was edible and no other options it is acceptable. Breakfast is good enough.
Cleanliness is ok, bed sheets are clean but bathroom is not so clean, quite many stains. Taking better care of the room could and would allow cheaper maintenance in long term. Bit of dust also.
Hotel should offer transit service to its customers from railway station so they wouldn’t be stranded and aggressively faced by locals offering ride.
Great Wall itself is amazing so I can only hope hotel would step up its game for the future.

AAnonymous UserI would like to highlight three things in which I felt were very pleasant during my stay at the lodging.
First, I was pleasantly surprised at the service they offered. When my family and I were staying at lodging, the workers were extremely heartwarming and kind. They were willing to answer any questions we had about the attractions nearby and even drove us to the Jinshan Ling Great Wall of china Nearby.
Second, I would like to highlight the amenities and activities offered at the lodging. Although we only scratched the surface of the activities they offered. The lodging provided us with countless options. From having a mini movie theatre as well as pool & billiards room, they also offered a wide range of outdoor adventures such as kayaking and fishing which will surely enrich your stay there. Furthermore, the amenities themselves at the room we were staying in were exceptional. The lodging was spacious and provided us with separate rooms to stay in, making our stay an extremely pleasant one.
Lastly, I would like to highlight the food at the lodging itself. At every lodging one books I’m sure one would look forward to having delectable food right within a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, the food offered by the lodging from breakfast to dinner was both delicious and affordable.
I would highly recommend booking a stay here should you want to visit the attractions in the area but don’t forget to take time to enjoy and experience the adventures offered by the lodging too!

The facilities are complete and the service is thoughtful. It is very close to the Summer Resort and just opposite. It is not far from other attractions. There is a bus stop at the door of the hotel.
