We had a really great time at SYYF Li River Courtyard hotel.
Here are some highlights:
1. Helpful staff
We were able to check in around 12:30 pm. The staff at front desk helped us move in. Everyone in the hotel put a lot effort to make sure their customers were satisfied with their service.
2. Comfortable beds
The two bedrooms is kind of small for a family of 4. It lacks desks to put makeup, purses. However the bed and pillows were very comfy.
3. Tasty food with stunning views restaurant
The ZUI restaurant at 6 floor has excellent food options, great quality and stunning views. We had both dinner and breakfast there. It was the best one in our entire Guilin Yangshuo vacation. We really like the local specialties, like Oil Tea, Black rice cake with egg yolk, fried rice noodles, Guilin rice noodles…
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at SYYF Li River Courtyard Hotel. I highly recommend it.

Great staying experience with perfectly maintained facilities and intelligent room control panel. There is also a 24-hour butler service through wechat which was very convenient and the staff was responsive. Special thanks to all the friendly receptionists and staff, especially Mr Wang from front desk, who addressed our questions with great passion and empathy. Would revisit when I come to Guilin again!

Love this hotel so much. It's a Smart Hotel. You can ask questions for any info such as weather, play the music and songs, open/close the curtain, switch off/on the lights etcs.. Just call ”小度小度”（Xiao Du Xiao Du) in Chinese.. hahaha Xiao Du only understand chinese!😄 Spacious room and clean. Very polite and friendly staffs ( Frontline and restaurant - breakfast). They allow you to take away coffee after you done your breakfast. You must try their dried guilin noodles! Recommended to stay this hotel ! It's walkable to Zheng Yang Pedestrian street ( 30 - 40 mins) , Sun Moon Pagodas and Elephant trunk mountain ( 30 - 40 mins), Xi Men market ( 30 mins)if you are prefer to walk. You need to explore in order to lead you ”shortcut” route!

The staff, amenities and services were great in the hotel.
Here are some highlights:
1. Helpful staff
We got room upgrades upon check in. They also helped us book the LiRiver cruise plus the transportation to the cruise port. They also have delicious sweet soup delivered to our room at night.
2. Comfortable room and beds
The room was equipped with a table and big chairs, and the bed and pillows were very comfy.
3. Stunning views
We had dinner at the Cloud restaurant at the hotel. Even though the food at the dinner didn’t amaze us, the view from the restaurant was amazing.
4. Tasty breakfast
There are a lot of selections at the breakfast buffet. We really like all the local specialties, i.e. RedBeanRiceCakes, TofuNoodles, GuilinRiceNoodles. We all feel it tasted a lot better than the dinner.
Overall, we had a great experience at Li River hotel. I would rate it 5 out of 5 of every things.

Amazing view from room. Cool amenities including a high quality massage chair. The fried rice for breakfast was yummy. The bathtub was fantastic. Hotel staff was helpful. Only issue I had with the specific room I reserved was that the entrance to the twin pagoda park was on the street below and people were very loud. From as early as 6am to about 11pm there is bound to be some noise. Personally for me, the view from the room offset that issue.

Beyond my expectation. Service is at tip top. Walkable to many places of interest within 400m. The receptionists were so helpful giving directions as where to go and assist to call for cab anytime i needed the service. Remarkable housekeeper aunty, asking me need not wait for my laundry as she will make sure it is all done and will deliver to my room, she even drop me a note after sending the laundry on my bed. Got a upgraded family room which was spacious and on the high floor. The hotel 7th floor has a small pool and nice view of the Jingjang Wangfu background and the ancient city. They do served tea at 3pm with some nice cookies and desserts, breakfast was awesome with order to make famous Guilin Noodle soup. Highly recommend this hotel for personalize service and a comfort room. Would rate it 5/5.

We were in Guilin for 9 days, during which the city experienced its worst storm in 35 years ! The city centre was seriously flooded and there was no electricity. We were extremely fortunate to have stayed in Qing Lan - it is situated at a higher ground so was not affected.
We were travelling with an elderly lady with wheel chair - first stayed at a Double bed room mountain view for 4 days and then the Family Suite Mountain View for 5 days.
Surroundings - The nearby park (which hotel staff can take you there for free - outsiders have to pay. It's huge ! It's only about 5 mins walk to get there from hotel ) has the most spectacular view one can expect. It really has a ”wow” effect. The best part is hardly anybody there.
Staff members - This is the most friendly hotel I have ever stayed ! Staff members are not just professional - they genuinely care and give you a family feel. They looked after us so well to the extent we were a little touched :-)
Location - situated in a quite area but about 15 mins drive to city centre (Ride costs about RMB 20 - 25). The scenery is indeed much better than city area
Room - Since the hotel is new, everything is very clean, towels are new and beds very comfortable. Really nothing much to complain about.
Food - The only drawback is there is only one restaurant nearby in the park. Breakfast is more than sufficient but not elaborate. You can order delivery easily should you want to have dinner at hotel, which was what we did for 2 days
If you want a few days of peace and tranquility, I cannot think of a better place. Will definitely go back again !

Stayed for 3 nights at this lovely boutique hotel. The rooms are clean, modern and well maintained. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. I would recommend to friends and family.
If there was one thing to improve, I think smoking and non smoking rooms should be completely separated - the hallways were filled with the smell of cigarettes and it also filled my room but otherwise, I would stay here again.

We love that the hotel looks new and clean. It's worth it for the price we paid, as compared to other hotels that we stayed in. The hotel staff are very helpful and warm. They were also able to provide a baby cot which was very necessary for us. We loved the children's play area and the beautiful swimming pool view at level 9!

The location is perfect. If you want to stay in Guilin without use the taxi and visit the best attraction of the city, this hotel is recommended. The breakfast is very cheap but offers only Chinese food. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the only problem is some of them has the window without external view.

Even before I arrived, the staff went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I received a message the day before my reservation to call the hotel. When I called, they asked if they could send me a message on Wechat as they didn’t speak English. The staff simply wanted to know my eta so that they could turn the a/c on in the room to cool it down before I arrived.
The hotel is more of a BnB set up than a hotel - similar to a house design. The building is 5 stories high with I guess around 4 rooms on each floor. This makes it perfect to escape the large tourist groups which frequent bigger hotels.
When the taxi pulled up outside on the day of my arrival, 2 staff members rushed out to welcome me. Check-in was quick and they told me that they had upgraded me to a bigger room. They also asked me what I wanted for breakfast the next day as they had some different ‘Western’ options (think Chinese idea of Western but still okay). I was able to have toast and fried eggs every day.
The room is really exquisite - I came alone but would definitely recommend for couples as the bathtub is heavenly.
The two balconies offer beautiful views of the karst mountains. The room is also tastefully done up in wicker and white. And the bedding is luxurious. My only recommendation for the room is to add some sachets of instant coffee.
The pool is perfect for a cool down and what a spectacular view from the loungers!
I swam every day and every day while sitting by the pool, the staff brought me some refreshing lemon water to drink. In addition, every day of my stay they brought me something: day 1 - fresh watermelon and some blueberry thing (candy?), day 2 - baby tomatoes and more blueberry things day 3 - apples and peanuts. On checkout, they prepared a local snack and water bottle for the trip home.
The staff at this hotel really go the extra mile and just about bend over backwards to serve you. It’s been a long time since I have seen such eager staff and it makes for a very pleasant change from bored receptionists on their phones.
I cannot rate the hotel highly enough for their excellent hospitality service.
The location is also perfect - away from the main ***** but an easy 15 minute walk to the river rafts and another 5-10min to the ‘town’ and a variety of eating options. That’s when you turn left when you get to the main road from the hotel (5min walk). Turn right at this road and you can comfortably walk (30 min?) to some other sites like the one with the hole in the mountain (overrated) and an exquisite cave - Dragon cave. If you like caves and the formations within I highly rate this cave. It is truly gorgeous. You can also rent bikes or a scooter 10m in front of the hotel.
The staff do not speak English but they communicate via WeChat and are more than happy to help with anything.

GGuest UserHad an amazing 2 night stay at the Tong Resort - it’s well located near Shili Gallery but super peaceful with only 9 rooms. Chinese resorts are usually really loud and busy but Tong resort was pure serenity. The rooms are spacious and has all the amenities you need, not to mention the view from the balcony (simply stunning) and you will never go hungry with a great breakfast, afternoon tea and evening desserts. The staff really go above and beyond, nothing is too trouble much trouble for them. 10/10, highly recommend.

I booked my stay at the Shixi Landscape Hotel in Yangshuo, Guilin, through Trip.com. The check-in process was very smooth and didn’t take long at all. One pleasant surprise was the option to upgrade our room for free, which we accepted. This upgraded room came with a lovely balcony. Although the staff couldn’t speak English, they were very friendly and helpful. Using a translation app made communication easy.
Room Details
We stayed in a standard double room with an upgrade to a balcony room. The room also featured a bathtub, which was a nice touch. Upon entering, the room was fairly clean, though there were some water stains on the floor and the carpet had a few dirty spots. The amenities were average, including a selection of soft drinks in the minibar and some snacks on the table. Despite these minor cleanliness issues, the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
Facilities and Services
The hotel had a restaurant where we received a complimentary breakfast upgrade. Unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet our expectations. While the Chinese food selection seemed okay, the international options were quite disappointing. The sausages were undercooked, the bacon was not good, and the cereal options looked and tasted stale. The only decent international option was toast with butter. It’s a relief we didn’t pay extra for it.
Although I noticed the hotel had a spa, gym, and pool, I didn’t get a chance to use them. The pool looked nice but was small and shallow, not suitable for a serious swim. There was no room service available as far as I knew.
Location and Accessibility
The hotel’s location was fantastic, situated right next to the Li River and only a short 5-minute walk to the main shops and streets in the town. It was very easy to find and access, making it a convenient base for exploring Yangshuo.
Customer Service
The overall customer service was great. The staff were very friendly and polite, and we encountered no issues during our stay.
Overall Experience
The best part of our stay was the hotel’s prime location, which made it easy to visit tourist attractions. The hotel staff were also very helpful in arranging scooter rentals for a very reasonable price of ¥30 per day, which allowed us to explore the beautiful scenery around Yangshuo.
However, there is room for improvement. The breakfast selection, particularly the international options, needs significant enhancement. Additionally, a thorough deep cleaning of the carpets would greatly improve the room’s cleanliness.
In conclusion, while I would recommend the Shixi Landscape Hotel for its location and overall good service, it is on the pricier side for Yangshuo. Given the cost, I expected a bit more in terms of breakfast quality and room cleanliness. Nonetheless, it is a decent option for those looking to stay near the Li River and the town’s main attractions.

GGuest UserThe stay at SYYF was one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. The room is cozy and spacious, with gorgeous floor to ceiling windows with a great view of the mountains. It’s also a hi tech smart room with a voice controlled assistant, Xiaodu, that can control the lights and open/shut the curtains (though it only understands Chinese). There’s also a cute tea set which is great for relaxing by the window. The room is equipped with AC and heat that works great, and the lights can go from bright to a dimmer evening mode, as well as sleep. We also got complimentary sodas, extremely cozy robes and nice house shoes for lounging. The breakfast is served 8-10AM is was definitely one of the best we have experienced in China while traveling. It was robust and offered both regional and western cuisine.
There is a lot of ongoing construction on the street that the property is on so be careful. It may be a bit of traffic congestion due to large machines, however the noise was not heard from our room. It might be challenging for Didi drivers to access but there are also e-scooters for rent for about 30 yuan per day.
The hotel is surrounded by mountains which are lit up at night for a gorgeous landscape at any time.
The welcome photoshoot was fun, with traditional clothes you can borrow. We spent about 30-45 minutes using different props across 3 locations on the property, and got tons of photos that we loved.
The staff is so accommodating and responsive and they helped with every little question. The bring lots of thoughtful small pleasantries which added a special touch and made us feel very cherished. They also offered a free shuttle for our departure ride to the train station at the end of our stay.
We came in early January and the weather was chilly at night and pleasant during the day. With a jacket it’s not too bad and on a sunny day it’s pleasant with a cool breeze.
We had a massage too, which you can order to your room or go to the spa which is close, and they provide shuttle service. The massage was good but a bit pricey even with the 50% off. There are less expensive places in the town not too far away.
West street is a popular tourist spot which is also close, about 15-20 minutes away by e-scooter. There’s plenty of shopping, restaurants and a little night life, but we didn’t go out during this trip.
10/10 experience and I would definitely recommend staying here! I can’t imagine staying anywhere else when I come back to Yangshuo, and this place makes you REALLY want to come back!

PPrairieTruthfully, I am having time finding words, and that's unusual for me. I must admit I was disappointed when Yangshuo Mountain Retreat cancelled my booking because of a wedding that had booked the place, but the photos of the garden sold me. I've been to Yangshuo perhaps five times over the last 10 years, and have stayed in every kind of place there-from a cheap hostel to the boutique rooms but my dream was to stay at YMR, where I always stop and have a whiskey by the river.
When we pulled into Liqui Town, I realized I had not explored this part of the valley and was disoriented. But then the staff greeted us, carried in our bags, gave us tea, peanuts, and oranges, and set to taking care of our every need. They were this way with us from start to finish-sending us off with a bag of fresh mandarin oranges and hugs-and a promise to send an invoice for our remaining expenses-which we still have not gotten!
Apart from the wonder of just those details, the food was exquisite, our farmhouse room was stylish and simple yet so thoroughly Chinese-in the most real and unassuming way. It was an honor and a pleasure to sip tea in the farmhouse and look at the many woodcut posters and Chinese propaganda songs on the walls while staring up from the tea table to the simply elegant clay tile roof resting on the original beams, feeling the mud bricks breathe out their history silently under a soft rain and the early crows of the neighborhood roosters. I
If one is quiet and still, I believe this little gem will give up her secrets, her history, and the story and true feeling of old-time village life amongst the stunning splatters of karst and water. We enjoyed watching the staff use the traditional well to clean up around the property, and the garden did not disappoint. Truly magical and filled with bonsai that some local master has been enjoying for many years. The food was excellent. We spoke with some Chinese tourists on the way out who were very disappointed with the local version of beer fish, ah but ours was exquisite, along with the drinks and italian food. It's very rare to find this mix of culture, authenticity, generosity, and good service all wrapped into a package that does nearly guarantee the fulfillment of the motto the girls wear on their shirts, ”be inspired....”

NNitaiStaff was extremely nice and helpful, even helped us reserve e-scooters. The hotel is built right on top of a great and popular restaurant. Rooms are really nice. Location is great, only a three minute walk from the wharf (which was great because we had a lot of luggage) and also a three minute walk from West Street which is a lively pedestrian street with a great night market, and basically the heart of Yangshuo.

GGuest UserBooked a parent-child and double room. The hotel is located in Jinkeng Terraces, with view decks 1.2 on the left and 3 on the right. There are rice fields right outside the door. There is a stream a few steps down from the hotel. It is very parent-child friendly! The hotel is hygienic and clean, and the food in the store is delicious. Auntie Fa is very nice and the boss is very enthusiastic. The luggage is sent directly to the hotel. The car is parked at the foot of the hotel and it takes five minutes to walk to the hotel. There are stone steps on the mountain road and there is a road. It is full of childhood memories and I saw many plants that I saw when I was a child. Worth recommending^^
Picture 1.3 is the balcony view of the room, Picture 2 is the delicious food, Picture 4.5 is the rice field at the door, and Picture 6.7 is the viewing platform on the fourth floor to enjoy the sunrise.

Whether it is the faintness of the sea of clouds surrounding the mountain in the morning or the evening glowing and tender, or the stars at night, it brings a sense of peace and tranquility: two ears do not hear the world, and the edge is in this village; In the morning, you can go up and down the stone road, while enjoying the beautiful scenery around you, you can also go to the mountain tea room to have a cup of good tea; in the afternoon, continue to climb, sit in the pavilion at the top, overlook the whole village, and then shout out the inner poetry and distance to the mountains; At night, make a wish to the stars (the heart fire to the stars, the wish is true). FFaeMy first impression of Shangri La Guilin is that many staff speak English proficiently or at least the basics that are required for their job. I arrived an hour and a half before the check in time but they promptly checked me into my room without any long wait. My luggage was taken to my room by a bell boy whose English was even better than the front of the house. My initial thoughts of the room was that it was quite old fashioned and the interior design & amenities were dated in comparison to most 5 star hotels. The view however was exceptional. I could clearly see the garden, river and mountains. After my first night I was woken by some loud music. Though the staff tried to tell the dancers that playing the music was disruptive to their guests, they continued to play it which further frustrated me. I informed the guest manager Edward who was very helpful in rectifying this. He upgraded me into a much nicer room that he ensured me should be quieter. They also gave me complimentary fruits in the room which added to the nice gesture. This is exactly the kind of quality of service that earns them a 5 star rating. Carl at the front desk was also very competent and was very helpful when I had to pay for something through wechat.
The room I came with was a package deal that included breakfast, spa voucher, photoshoot and club privileges. It was worth the extra cost as the all inclusive club buffet during happy hour was filling and tasty (photo attached).
Breakfast was a Chinese buffet with a fusion of western basics such as cereal, toast and bakery items.
If you have the time, I would highly recommend seeing Kelly (English name) for a ”signature Asian” massage at the spa. She applied the perfect pressure for me and was very kind.
The photoshoot was organised through wechat and included 6 photos. The photographer was lovely and the final photos made special memories of my time in China.
Suggestions for improvement: several items in the room are in need of repair or replacement eg. old hair dryer that lightly blows air (useless), flickering lights when you turn it on and the phones. I also think if they were to refurbish the pools outside then the place would appear less worn down.
Overall, the service and reputation is what made this stay worth it. I look forward to staying at Shangri La again

GGuest UserWOW !! We were absolutely blown away by this amazing Hotel. We couldn't believe that everything looks just as good in real life as you see in the photos.
We booked the room which we believe looks the best and has the best view (located on the top floor) and were so happy we chose it.
Staying here was such an amazing and unique experience that we can't wait to stay here again for our next trip to China.
Here are the highlights of our time here:
1) As mentioned before, our suite has 100% the best views of any Hotel in Yangshuo. It really does have a 270 Degree view and you can also see the sky thanks to partial glass roof.
2) The whole area is very peaceful and quiet, perfect for a getaway from the busy life in the city
3) The Hotel's staff are very friendly and helpful, ready to assist you with any request at any hour. One of the best customer service experiences we ever had!
4) The entire building and our room was very well maintained and clean
5) There is also a lovely swimming pool which we did not have the chance to use but it looks very nice
6) The location is simply perfect for what we wanted. And considering how cheap the taxis are (less than 10 Yuan to get to the city centre) it's well worth staying here. You can also walk for about 20 minutes to get in the city.
7) Although it is not technically a full service hotel, we really appreciated all the services provided, especially the daily housekeeping when they replaced our towels, etc
8) The video projector is a nice touch, and so is the HUGE bathtub which can probably fit 4 adults
9) As Westerners we also really appreciated the electronic / japanese-style toilet with automated flushing and all the functions
10) The air conditioner is surprisingly powerful and can easily keep up with very hot weather even if you open all the curtains
Things worth noting:
1) The mattress was a bit firm for us and the pillows a bit too thin for our liking
2) The projector is set up for Chinese users and, unless you cast from your phone or mirror the screen, you won't have much luck
3) The bathtub would have been even better if it were jetted (like a jacuzzi), but this is not really an issue
Overall this is certainly one of the best hotels you can choose in Yangshuo and we can 100% recommend staying here.
