The Capoe House

We stayed for 3 days and enjoyed every moment if our time here amid the mountains and the wildlife, birdwatching directly from the rooms terrace included ! We also enjoyed the hike and up to some rock formations with a great view over the valley and beyond and a refreshing plunge in the small pool afterwards. A big thank you to the welcoming and very friendly and helpful staff !

This Stay was absolutely stunning! This hotel is located in the middle of nature. A jeep brings you to the hotel because the streets are bumby. We were welcomed by Eranda. He and the whole team tried to fullfill every wish we had. They offered us tea showed us arround to waterfalls. The food was amazing, the breakfast is served with an amazing view and also dinner. We especially enjoyed the Sri Lanka night where they served us regional food. You also should not miss tea time and the pool

We’ve staid 3 nights at the Capoe house this August and we can highly recommend it. The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. The hotel and surroundings are beautiful. On my birthday they arranged a cake at the nearby waterfall (must see). Erande played chess with our son, Chaminda was making cocktails, Madushanka made amazing dinners. Don’t expect airconditioning or a huge swimming pool, but if you’re in search for beautiful nature, friendly people, great hospitality and a boutique hotel this is your place. My wife and I very happy with how pleasantly we were surprised by the beautiful property and exceptional service we got at Capoe House. We just needed a weekend get away but what we got was something that was a truly exceptional. The level of professionalism and friendliness of the team that served us at Capoe House was truly marvellous. An amazing stay in one of the most incredible hotel we have ever been. Lost in the heights of Haputale, with a fantastic view, only a couple of rooms in an oasis of peace. Stuff and service are excellent. Food was great and my Margarita was delicious as well ! Frankly speaking, it s hard to render in words the beauty of this place and the kindness of the people working there. A special mention to the manager Eranda, we hope to see you in Paris soon !

What an excellent experience! We stayed at The Capoe House for 3 nights, and wished we could have stayed for longer. Despite there being 2 additional groups staying, you still get the Staffs' undivided attention. The Staff are incredibly professional, friendly and can not do enough to help you. The team lead Eranda is especially passionate and knowledgeable about the local wildlife, make sure you take advantage and ask him to show you the flora & fauna. Our butler Chaminda took very good care of us, and is very proud of his signature lime & rum cocktail which is a must have! The Chefs were outstanding - the menu caters for Western tastes, however if you ask him to cook locally he can let his colours shine and produce some exceptionally tasty curries and condiments if you can handle the spice. The setting of Capoe House is in the middle of the tea plantations, nestled with a stunning vista gazing straight down the mountainsides. The pictures displayed really are exactly what you can expect to get. As expected accommodation is modern, clean, tidy and full of personal touches. You will be spoil for choices of where you can dine (in your house/private terrace/communal terrace/inside). We can't give enough praise and thanks to Eranda and his team for making an especially memorable stay at The Capoe House. I recommend bringing a decent camera and pair of binoculars with you!
