Beautiful place

Although overnight accommodation at this hotel is pricey, we had a very enjoyable stay. Bar food was tasty and not over-priced. Pool facilities extremely clean. Professional and friendly staff who were a pleasure to deal with. Location is right on the shore of the lake, what's not to like about that?! Room was spotlessly clean with wonderfully thick comfy mattresses and heaps of pillows. Bed linen and towels all brand new. Would highly recommend this place for an escape for a bit of peace 😊

Excellent hotel and all services.

Absolutely fantastic. Classic room. Lovely big, bright room with stand alone shower and bath. An abundance of towels, toiletries, tea and coffee, plus spring water. And a mini fridge. Grounds and lake zmazing. viking boat trip into athlone great value and great fun at 15 euros each return. Taxi to athlone 15 euros. Free wine tasting event in hotel with very good information on wines. Very well delivered. Kayaking and water sports available too. Lovely nature trail walk around lake. Or just sit on the many seats provided xndvenjoy the view and the wildlife. Athlone terrific destination with abundance of things to do such as castle, art gallery, boat trips, great shops, fab restaurants and live music. Thyme restaurant and the fatted calf amazing, high end but great value for money. Sean's and the pedlar mac had great live music. 3rd time in athlone and will be back for more.

Brilliant hotel. Everything was spot on. It would be nice if the allow reservation for meals through 3rd party booking apps of sites.

Lovely hotel but a couple of minor issues. Our room was uncomfortably hot all night and we couldn't adjust the temperature switch or turn it off. We opened the window but as we were adjacent to the swimming pool there was something constantly humming. We mentioned it at check out and the girl was apologetic which was fine. We ate dinner in the bar and the food was very nice but a very limited menu for a 4 star hotel. Apart from that, everything was lovely and great music in the bar.

Relaxing trip in beautiful surroundings on Lough Ree......have sayrd her on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.

Was given a lovely corner room both windows over looking the lake. Room was excellent and facilities. Had food in the bar. Service wasnt the best, lack of training. Simple things like having to ask for cutlery for both starter and the main course had to get it myself for the main after it never arrived after asking for it. Drinks were left sitting on the bar for about 10mins before brought to the table.. they bring the food out from the kitchen and place it on a table for 5mins before serving it to the customers. Lots of little things. No sugar provided with coffee and it was spilt al round the saucer. Staff wer friendly just lack of propper training. Food was nice could of been warmer. But as i said it was left sitting on a tray before it was served.

We certain enjoyed our 1 night stay, it was very enjoyable , staff were really courteous at all time. We had a lovely dinner, food and service was excellent . Breakfast was perfect, we really enjoyed our time and we will be back for sure

Really enjoyed a pre christmas break. great location not far to get to and great views.

Cant understand the recent 10/10 reviews. Property felt like a soleless business hotel. Lots of events taking place through the day attended by non-guests. Very busy feel between this and members to the spa. The room was clean, but the view of a roof and ventilation shafts not really what id expect of one of the nicer rooms. There was drilling work going on late into the evening. I had to go down to reception to resolve and was kept waiting roughly 45mins. The manager was very apologetic and comped us a bottle of wine which i really appreciated. But ultimately I wouldnt ever stay here again.

What a great hotel! I was pleasantly surprised and my father and I had a wonderful stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was huge and nicely decorated, the lobby and restaurant were lively and inviting, and the parking was sooooo easy. I would definitely return!! sray here!

Golf in the back, boating in the front but central hotel has resort feel with fine amenities. Athlone downtown is very pleasant.
