Aparthotel Marinda Garden

Recently returned from here after staying 7 nights with family. What a fantastic time we had and memories were made to last a lifetime. On check in, we were greeted with a warm reception by a very polite lady. It was a very easy process and she went out her way to ensure that we had all the information that we needed. We had booked into a Deluxe Apartment which meant that we were on the top floor and had our own private balcony, table and chairs and also a bed. It was very spacious and it was great to sit out there in the mornings and evenings. The whole apartment was very clean and had everything that we needed. A nice touch with the robes and slippers! We had regular visits from the cleaning team to service our room which again was a nice touch. Although we would expect the room to be serviced, the frequency of the servicing was more than we expected. Our only tiny issue was that on occasions we found the door lock to be a challenge. Sometimes it took us a good few minutes to unlock the door but nothing major and certainly didn’t effect our stay. We really liked the pool area. Always plenty of sun beds on offer and more than one pool available for you to use so if there was an activity going on in one pool, another pool could be used. There is also a toilet next to the pool which we found beneficial as we didn’t have to walk back to our room. We ordered alcoholic drinks from the pool bar and also made use of the soft drink and beer station where you could serve your own drinks. The staff were always very friendly and polite and you never really had to wait long. Maybe only one or two people in front of you in the queue at a maximum. Although we never tried it, food was available at the pool bar such as, chips, ice cream, toasties and hot dogs. Throughout the day, the entertainment staff did make a big effort to get the guests involved in the activities that they had on offer. There were separate activities for both adults and for children. We took part in various activities such as, Water Polo, Volleyball, Water Fit and the Cocktail making classes! We had an enjoyable time. The staff were very friendly, especially Miguel who always had a smile on his face and made sure that everybody was enjoying themselves and felt included. The evening entertainment was good on the nights that we went along to. A bar was available next to the seating area and again you didn’t have to queue for very long. The only other facility which we used was the Gym. Although quite basic, it did have essential equipment like a Treadmill, Weight Area and Rowing machine. Last but not least, the food. We were absolutely blown away by the amount of choice on offer. There is definitely something for everyone and you will certainly never go hungry! Breakfast was available from 8-10, lunch 1-3 and dinner 7-9. The food was delicious and we had no issues. In fact we probably enjoyed it a bit too much considering how much we seemed to eat each day! Travelled for our Honeymoon with our 8 month old, stayed in an upstairs deluxe apartment - well worth thte upgrade price as the baloncy is huge, apartment was spacious and i like that the bedroom is seperate from the living space unlike in a hotel. Food - A lot of people complain about the food but if you aren't a picky eater, the food is absolutely fine, you get what you paid for at a 3 star. It does become quite repetitive at breakfast, snack bar and dinner, but tea time has themed nights which was nice. Plenty of drink options but if you like an English brew, take tea bags with you. Entertainment - Can't fault the staff. Nothing really suitable for very little ones but toddlers and up it looked great. Very loud at night (more in 'Apartment' section. Apartment - No real huge negatives. Just one thing to bear in mind is that their is no cleaning service on a Sunday or Wednesday, so for example we arrived Saturday dinner, and our room was then not cleaned until Monday afternoon so our bin was full with having a baby ect... but you can change towels at reception so no issues there. Be mindful of your apartment placement in relation to the stage area because we were in block 30 and the entertainment was SO LOUD in our apartment, it was keeping our baby awake until 10:30pm, it was so loud. We decided to just do a nighttime walk every night to keep away from the noise to allow the baby to sleep. We addressed this with reception and they were as helpful as they could be, but it was definitely an issue for us so be mindful if you are travelling with a baby / early sleeper. Pools - Freezing! Fine for adults and i saw plenty of little kiddies enjoying the pools but oh my gosh the baby pool was icy! So unfortunately our little one didn't get to enjoy the pool, it would be good if this was heated. Never a problem getting a sun bed and never felt loud or obnoxious around the pool area. Location - We enjoy walking, so having the Marina, Lighthouse and Beach so close was lovely, but that's really it within walking distance. We did a bus trip to the Market on Friday but there wasn't enough to even fill an hour. We walked every day but just around the same areas. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the Marina. Accessibility of the hotel - We had a pushchair so obviously an upstairs apartment was sometimes difficult but we made it work. I find it a shame that wheelchair users would not get the option for a room upgrade, i think that some deluxe apartments should be made on the ground floor! Overall - Cons; The noise of entertainment at night Lack of walking distance places to explore Repetitve food Freezing baby pool Pros; Always loungers around the pool The lovely staff Apartment cleanliness & space (love the balcony!) The onsite shop Check in and out was easy

A true honest review by an easy going circle of friends. I know it's Marinda is a 3. 1/2 star but this hotel could be a 4plus the thing that lets it down THE FOOD. Yes there is food for everyone but it is a struggle sometimes,and everything at breakfast was Luke warm??? We were all rewarming everything in the microwave even the beans which couldn't be good really. Yet staff were brilliant very friendly and happy and would help if they could.One saving Grace the marina,food down there is amazing so we ate out every night.scores below.
