Amazing stay in a historic hotel. Walking around the plaza was a highlight. So many eateries, shops and pubs. Perfect vibe.

This is a charming and historic spot along the 101. Rather than stop at some big chain hotel / motel, we opted for a little bit of history. The place is perfectly located off the Arcata town square and was perfectly suited for our stay.
Conveniently located near restaurants and shopping. Close to outdoor activities and good hikes.
I would caution if you need the most fancy and updated space this might not be for you, but then those people aren't considering this old hotel to begin with.

The property is is nice, like a historical building, I didn’t like the shower curtains they look pink (moldy) on the bottom, the blanket is a little too thin for the area, everything else it was nice.

The Hotel is old and thus the rooms are small with decent bathrooms. Shower was over a claw-foot tub that required ability to climb into the tub. Otherwise it was just as expected. A little funky but not in a bad way.

We love staying at Hotel Arcata! Just be mindful when booking rooms at the back of the hotel borders an alley and the garbage and recycling trucks come first thing in the morning around 6am and is very loud so use earplugs. Plaza Suites are best and are on front of Hotel with a great view of Arcata Square. Breakfast is included. Great place overall

Nice hotel - an old place, now revived and comfortable. Arcata's plaza square and its surrounding shops are nice. Yeah, the homeless are there, but not so many (at least when I was there in December!).

Hotel service was good and it’s clearly a historic hotel. Very dated. Beds were not comfortable and area was very noisy. I was listening to people on the street all night and early in the morning. Did not attempt to shower in dated shower. Continental breakfast wasn’t great.
