Kaucuk Hotel

Perfect location, excellent service. The area is very noise during the night.

We were attracted by the many photos on the hotel's website showing bright, attractive rooms. We booked four nights in the Behice room on that basis, one of the several photos of it showing an adequately spacious, well-lit room with a table and two comfortable chairs. This was a Deluxe room, not the entry-level Standard grade. On checking in we were shown to the room which was tired, dreary, dark and musty-smelling with two single beds, no table and no chairs. The only window opened straight onto the street at ground level so it couldn't be left open for ventilation. We asked for a kettle and were told that that would not be possible because the hotel was very old and there are problems with the electrics. We asked for a better room and were shown another upstairs. For another 140 Euros this was a little larger but still dull, dark, dreary and stale-smelling. We then went out for a walk and in a nearby hotel found an available room that was much larger, freshly decorated, very well appointed and significantly cheaper than we had paid for the Kaucuk. We returned to the Kaucuk to pack and said we were checking out. Thus far we had been speaking to a young man in reception who had been polite and helpful throughout and seemed genuinely concerned that we were unhappy with the room. He called the owner and the tone of the discussion immediately deteriorated. She was extremely confrontational and would not accept that the room fell short of our expectations. When we showed her the photo of the room showing the table and chairs she said that that was of another room and that ******* had shown the wrong photo. She was quite taken aback when we pointed out that the photo was shown on the hotel's own website, not *******'s. Other than promising that the offending photo would be removed from the website there was no apology and no acceptance that the room had been misdescribed. As we had spent a short time in the room and sat on the beds (there being nowhere else to sit) we would have been happy to pay for the first night's accommodation. A polite request for a refund of the balance was met with a flat refusal and we were told to take the matter up with *******. We have stayed in many lovely hotels in Kaleici. This has been our only disappoin**ent. Avoid!

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. Location is great, straight down the hill the sea and in amongst all the winding streets for bars and restaurants. Inside is a little oasis away from the town. The pool is small but lovely and the owners were really friendly. Highly recommended

Hotel in heart of old town, but an oasis of peace once you step through the doors. Staff are incredibly helpful. Breakfast, taken in the garden, is excellent. Only downside for us was our room being small, dark, only small window that looked onto stairwell. Another room and it would have been perfect.

You may not get a better hostess, Rengin is the model of hotel owner that would do anything to make you comfortable. Exquisite breakfasts with mostly homemade goodies, a beautiful house, nicely decorated, including an small concert hall/gallery.

Beautiful, sweet, impeccably clean oasis in Old Town Antalya. Family-owned and run, this historical property provides a modern, artistic experience with first class service! Our breakfast was outstanding and the sparkling clean swimming pool provided refreshing relief from the hot August sun. First class hospitality in a most convenient location (walking distance to everywhere, including the beach!). Highly recommend!

We spent 10 wonderful days at the Kauçuk (pronounced like the French caoutchouc meaning rubber because of the rubber tree in the garden). The location is great, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The ambiance is lively and the area around the hotel is active till the early hours. Rengin (the owner) welcomed us warmly and looked after us during the whole stay. The pool is intimate and private and a wonderful way to cool down (we visited in August when it was very hot). The rooms are lovely with great firm mattresses and good comfortable showers. Breakfast is served by the pool and is enchanting. There are eight rooms, some larger, some smaller: three face the pool and the inner courtyard while the rest look onto the street. There is a hammam (600 years old) within easy walking distance and even a beach club if you feel you need a dip in the sea. A wonderful place for a romantic break.

İşlet** baskasına ait olan bu hotelde hotel sahibi herşeye karışmaktadır. Hatta bize karşı terbiyesizlik bile yapmıştır. Odamızı şartlatacagına kendi beyninizi şartlamamızı tavsiye ederim. Yüzünüzün kızaracagını bilseydim yüzünüze karşı söylerdim. Calısanlar harikaydı. Ali bey Mustafa beyve temizlikci abla. IMPORTANT. !!! The hotel owner has a fake smile and chooses customers. even talk about inappropriate things behind your back.

Kauçuk otel kale içindeki en nezih temiz sakin ve sanatı da içinde barındıran konforlu butik otel. Ev sahipliği mükemmel. Konserler yapıldığını da öğrendim. Bölge için çok değerli. Teşekkür ediyoruz. Keyifli bir tatil idi. Tekrar geleceğiz yaz aylarında.
