The Oaks Hotel

"We had a lovely three course lunch (for only £14 per person Mon-Thurs) for my birthday . The roast turkey dinner was delicious (& huge) and the staff were really friendly and helpful and my disabilities and restricted diet were catered for very well. The only downside was the lack of disabled toilet. The Ladies toilet was down steep steps but the staff kindly let me use the Gents which was on the flat but was a very small cubicle, the floor in front of the loo was wet and there was no toilet paper - though the staff did say they would rectify it when I reported it. My main gripe was that there was nowhere in the cubicle to put anything or hang anything up (It would have been impossible to change my stoma bag there if I had needed to - I presume the baby changing with shelf etc was in the Ladies down the steep steps.) Over all it was a lovely meal with nice staff only spoiled by the restrictions in the toilets."

"As a regular traveller and user of many types of hotel and / or hotel / BnB I must say that The standard of decor and cleanliness was the worst I have encountered. Wallpaper was hanging off /  earth wires in the bathroom were exposed. Towels were dirty with rust on them. All the walls were marked / dirty or chipped. The bedroom carpet in room 30 was SO dirty we could smell the dust. Bedroom lights did not work. Halls and stairs were dirty with wallpaper hanging loose and dirty. Stair carpets were so dirty they smelt. Stud walls were hanging loose. All ceilings had dirty marks… I could go on and on and only hope that this review initiates  improvements or prevents others from booking. We did not eat here due to the poor first impressions however the staff seemed happy and  welcoming."

Premier Inn Alnwick

"A superb location, ideal to explore Alnwick, Bamborough, Holy Island and Cragside. ( Which is why we stayed). Very friendly and helpful, there were alot of families there at the time, so it felt warm and welcoming. The room was what you expect, initially spotless, but midweek cleaning wasnt really very good. The approach to hotel was abit odd, it had tbe appearance of a run down industrial estate, but dont let that put you off using the hotel."

White Swan Hotel

"Great value for money. Lovely old fashioned hotel. Only slight downside was the room was so hot but we were only there one night so I didn’t raise this with the staff. Breakfast was good and staff all great."

Alnwick Lodge

"Really enjoyed my first stay. Staff were very pleasent. Breakfast was pleantiful and well presented. You must have your own transport as there were no buses. There's too much of a long walk into Alnwick by the A1 mortorway. That's not very pleasent or safe. The only issue I had was with the awlful television (It certainly needs updating) in the Cart Shed accommodation. The hand controller was useless."
