Very good and I would recommend to anyone to stay as it is a good option

The front desk staff had a great attitude. They first gave me a room, but after checking in, I noticed that only the bed had been cleaned—the bathroom and toilet were still dirty (as shown in the picture). The front desk then helped me switch to another room, which was properly cleaned, but it didn’t have a hairdryer, which is quite unexpected for a four-star hotel.

The location is just out of Bristol but can be reached by train and then bus. Or just the bus, depending where you are. Not having a car was always going to be challenging. The nearest train station is Patchway but a 30 to 45 minute walk. The M1 bus takes you within a 10 minute walk, and also, I believe into Bristol. The 71 bus definitely takes you to Bristol and runs from Bristol Parkway to Temple Meads. Get off at Aztec roundabout, but it does not run on Sundays. The hotel is good with a small swimming pool and the beds are comfortable. Getting to Cardiff is easy from Patchway Rail Station. Only 2 stops away.

It’s nice to have sparkling wine when we check in. The staff very nice to introduce the facility and breakfast arrangements

Came to see my family and I stay at this hotel for work as well when I am in the area always love to stay here the staff are brilliant. The rooms are great. What more can you want?

I booked this place mainly because it had a pool and it’s part of DoubleTree, so I expected a certain standard. Check-in was actually great. I arrived four hours early and they still gave me a room right away, which I appreciated. But honestly, the room they put me in felt like it wasn’t meant for guests at all. It was dirty, no towels, the kettle was full of limescale, and everything was dusty. I didn’t complain since they accommodated me early, but it really set the tone. The hotel itself has a very odd feel to it. Some parts look decent and modern, but overall it reminded me more of a care home. Most areas are tired and in serious need of updating. Also, there were still Christmas decorations up in late June 2025, which pretty much sums it up. I used the pool, sauna, and steam room the next day, and I was shocked at how bad it all was. The facilities were filthy and in disrepair. When I arrived, the guy at reception was on his phone having a chat, didn’t even look up. I had to wave to get his attention, and he just pointed at a clipboard for me to sign in. The changing rooms were soaked and smelled musty. The showers were partly broken, and the water would stop every few seconds so you had to keep pressing the button constantly. The steam room and sauna were a joke - the doors had big gaps so all the heat escaped. The steam room barely got warm, and the sauna was sitting at 65°C, nowhere near the proper temperature of 90–95°C. The pool water was very murky and dirty, not at all inviting. I genuinely don’t know how this place is still operating as a 4-star hotel. I’d be embarrassed to have my name attached to it. At best, it’s maybe a 3-star and that’s being generous.

I and my husband had a really awesome experience staying at Double Tree. Staff greeted us warmly at the reception check-in counter. After checking-in, we even each got a really tasty chocolate chip cookies. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The gym is well equipped. The parking needs to be paid for though, it's 8 pound which cover 24 hours of parking and they will ask you to pay at check in.

Hello, the bed mattress was terrible, i got backache terribly. Was a motels style .

A little dated but easy access to the M5. Good facilities and clean

Great location, just off the motorway, although not much in the area if you are looking to go out. Large room with welcome amenities eg Nespresso coffee machine with pods. Room very dark and quiet -made for a good night's sleep. Parking is extra cost.

Stayed in Dec 2024 @King room, very impressed, spacious room and clean.  Booked and stayed again in Jan 2025 also @King room but the room was weary and not as good.
