"Fantastic holiday - Ignore the negative reviews! Stayed here for a week early June as a family of 5 adults and can honestly say we had a great time. Pool area is busy and entertainment team do a good job. Food is good, always a number of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Dinner always includes meat, fish, pasta, fresh salad, chips and a kids option i.e. chicken nuggets, fresh fruit, bread and selection of desserts. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, juice or smoothies, cereals, yoghurt, cooked breakfast toast, continental options. Drinks include beers, local spirits, cocktail of the day (others are extra) soft drinks, slush (pool bar) hot drinks. Pool bar also does pizza, garlic bread, baguettes, toasties, crisps and ice cream tubs. Hotel itself is an odd set up logistically but once you find your bearings its fine, rooms are spacious, quite basic (no hairdryer) but were cleaned every day and fresh towels provided. Great views from the hotel and direct access to the beach. We would definitely return."

"Excellent Location, Private Beach access, Delicious Buffet Dinner and Good buffet Breakfast is the Key Point. It's a massive aparthotel. Service was Okey, not much interaction. Thought, it will be quite due to off season but it was busy due to 3 large Football Club also came for the weekend. Our room was in A block. A bit walk from main reception and restaurant. We booked standard room, so was not expecting much anyway. Room was okey size. There was air-conditioning in the room but no heating. Tried 30 degree with that but room was not warm enough. Toilet was missing Hand wash, no soap, no slippers. Basically no toiletries as expected from 4 star hotel. Positive thing was main Restaurant Jacs. We booked half board. Breakfast was okey. But best part was dinner. Themed dinner every night. Good service and quick refill. Has Outdoor Pool and Sauna. Ocean Bar is good for Sunset view. The location was good. Beach is walking distance. Pub/Club/Supermarket/ restaurants are 5 to 10 min walking distance. So far so good. Would recommend."

"I stayed here recently and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The hotel is old, outdated, and has zero charm. The rooms are small and while they’re somewhat clean, they’re crawling with bugs. Not exactly what you want when you’re trying to relax. The pool area is basically an extension of the restaurant, which explains why they’re so strict about outside food or drinks — but it’s still ridiculous. You’re not allowed to bring anything with you, not even a snack. They clearly just want to force you to buy their overpriced food and drinks, which aren’t worth it. Speaking of food: the breakfast was soggy and bland, and dinner on the first night was even worse. We didn’t bother going back after that. There is no atmosphere whatsoever. The hotel bar is the most depressing place I’ve ever been. The barman just stares at one of four TVs showing football. No music, no welcome, no vibe. We stayed for an hour just to play pool and it felt like a wake. The bed? Lumpy. The only thing that worked properly was the air conditioning — and that’s about the nicest thing I can say. For the money they charge, this place is a joke. Buggy, boring, and joyless. Avoid."

What's with this trend? Check-in used to always be after 2 PM and check-out by 12 PM. Now they're essentially taking away half a day for the same price. The Wi-Fi is weak and the food in the restaurants is average."

"The room smelled of stale cigarettes. Late checkout was not possible to book; it cost extra, and no extra night either. I was not allowed into the hotel in the morning because I had lost the paper wristband that apparently grants access. Because of this, I stood outside for half an hour in the middle of the night. The staff do not make an effort to help you and leave you to figure it out yourself."

"The hotel has many wonderful facilities such as 2 swimming pools and kiddie pool with many sun beds. A pedestrian walkway leading directly to the beautiful beach. Room are very spacious and I believe they are large than those of same level. The breakfast also much beyond than normal provides variety of food , especially freshly squeezed orange juice. The only drawback is that the shower gel and conditioner are of poor quality"

"Honest review! The location of this hotel is fantastic, beach front and only 5 euros to either old or new town. Dated but clean accommodation, food ok, always something to eat, drinks good, staff helpful and friendly. Was lovely and relaxing Mon to Fri then got rowdy at the weekend but this didn't spoil our holiday although rowdy they were respectful and polite just a large group of lads having fun. We saw a family who showed less respect for their surroundings. I would definitely return at some point. Take the negative reviews with a pinch of salt."

"We booked a room with kitchenette with garden view we took lift to our room to floor 8 from floor 5 otherwise used stairs to get steps in. Requested double but was 2 single room. Higher floors are a bit of a walk up and around. So anyone with walking issues should ask for ground floor or lower level rooms. Buffet breakfast and dinner had a good selection of food. It wasn’t too busy either Hotel grounds and gardens were nicely kept no doubt will looking amazing with flowers in full bloom. Staff were good too. Overall  good stay can’t complain. 😀"

"Great time asked for ground floor room as Mum struggles with stairs..not a problem...got a lovely ground floor 1 bed by pool and bar. Air con fantastic. great shower very clean lots of beds, umbrellas's and tables by pool. pool was clean..gardens were well maintained prices good in bar..staff friendly is a bit out of the way but download Uber..they are with you in no time and do not cost much there is a £200 deposit so plan for this...was just held on the card..never taken and was cancelled day we left so all good. information booklet in room..tells you what you need to know would reccomend olhis d'agua beach...faboulous..about £4 in an uber and be sure to stop at Pickwicks for pre or post beach drink/snack plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance loved it"

"Beautiful location, not in a rough urban area at all, two beaches not far at all nice to go for a walk and look at the views, loads of trips to do (wine tasting, safari rides, zoo marine dolphin show) which the receptionist will book for you on the phone they’re so helpful. Food is the best holiday all inclusive buffet I ever had, the snack cafe had beautiful sandwiches and coffees and cakes, friendly helpful staff. Bar all inclusive drinks aren’t strong, but a nice low alcohol quencher. Buffet had a different country theme every night so you could have food from all over the world. Cosy room, sofa and washing machine to do your laundry, television, lovely big bath. I would come here again if going to Portugal. My experience was wonderful. Lovely team. If you walk around the corner there’s a couple Portuguese corner shops to get snacks if you want to try them and souvenirs, loads of lovely friendly resteraunts on the street also if you want. Cheap taxi to get to the old town to go to the market which actually has beautiful stuff. Beautiful area beautiful country. I would note we did have a little bit of mould in our bathroom in the corner but it didn’t affect our stay as the service was so good, cleaners would come in and get the room spotless. Wonderful. Also included to travel to their other hotel resteraunts mini bus included to try other delicious food. Inserted a few pics of some of the places we booked through the hotel to go, or were advertised there. Amazing. Indoor turkish bath and sauna and pool and outdoor pool included, the outside pool is great too with sun loungers given to you by staff they will bring them out for you if there mostly taken up."
