I recently stayed at Banyan Tree, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. The main attraction—the rock pool—was closed during our stay, which was incredibly disappointing. It’s hard to justify such high prices when the facilities we were looking forward to were inaccessible. At the very least, a discount on our room night should have been offered. The alternatives provided were not acceptable. Each staff member gave us different information, leading to confusion about what options were available. We wanted to visit MyHabitas to use their pool, but they were fully booked. When we asked to check it out, we were told we had to pay a minimum spend, which should have been waived under the circumstances. We ended up having an overpriced mediocre lunch there. Service inconsistency was another major issue. Upon arrival, the concierge assured us we could book tickets to Hegra later that day. However, when we tried, we found out the tickets were sold out, and we ended up waiting four hours to get in. Interestingly, the ticketing office mentioned that Banyan Tree often provides incorrect information to guests about tours. While some staff members were great—like the friendly Philippine girl at breakfast and one attentive bellboy—the overall service lacked attention to detail. The resort itself had no proper program of experiences or activities. When we asked the concierge what to do on-site, he casually suggested we "relax and sleep," which felt dismissive. Our villa was visually stunning, but the wear and tear was disappointing. We noticed many scratches and signs of neglect. The bathroom amenities were not luxurious and felt poorly curated. For a high-end resort, thoughtful touches like a pool bag or sun hat should be standard. We were celebrating an anniversary, and while the team did a bed decoration, the effort felt lackluster. A small sweet plate from the lobby sweet corner and fruit basket were provided, but no one acknowledged our special occasion upon arrival, which was a missed opportunity for engagement. The arrival experience felt rushed and transactional, likely because staff were uncomfortable discussing the pool closure. It was disappointing that Banyan Tree couldn’t deliver a memorable experience. Additionally, we left our sunglasses in the room. Despite lingering in the lobby until 9 PM, no one thought to return them to us. We only realized they were missing at the airport, highlighting a lack of care and attention to service detail. You could have emailed or called us as the room was checked and cleaned as you claimed you were full house and couldn’t extend the late checkout not even for 30min. Overall, Banyan Tree offers stunning facilities and brilliant architecture, but the service is lacking. Without improvements, I fear they may lose guests to upcoming competitors like Aman. I cannot recommend this resort based on my experience.

Overall great experience. Waiting time for buggies can be long especially during peak timings but overall a great experience

Everything almost perfect, service effecial and professional, amazing pool, queit good breakfast... Just over sweet ... But their shuttle bus which is for airport is too simple and old ... It dosen't match with the price.

The room was spacious, the bathroom was clean, and even more than that, the view was amazing. I was very satisfied. I had food in the lounge and breakfast, both of which were very delicious. It was a great experience.

The sanitary environment is acceptable and meets the standards of Banyan Tree. I have to say that their service is something I have never seen in a Banyan Tree. There is no one to greet people in the lobby, and there is only one person at the front desk who is answering the phone and has no time to deal with you. They speak perfunctorily and don't remember your requests. The hotel shuttle bus takes at least 20 minutes to wait, and the only public facility in the hotel, the swimming pool, is closed. I would like to ask what reason is there to go to your house? It is better to go next door. It is really disappointing!

I'm very happy to come to this place. AlUla is definitely my favorite place. Banyan Tree is really great. They upgraded me. The room is facing the concert hall. There is a 24-hour heated swimming pool and a rich breakfast. It's really not easy to have such a hotel in the desert. I will definitely come again.

Some facilities are old and the service is poor, but this is the service in Saudi Arabia. The rest are pretty good and very suitable for taking pictures.

This hotel was simply perfect, very satisfactory service attitude, very spectacular environment surrounded by rocks, and free shuttle to Maraya for photos, good food, however a bit expensive, campfire stargazing outside the room in the evening, perfect!

Very shocking. You must stay in AlUla for one night. You can take pictures right at the door of the room. Opposite is the concert hall. As for dining, it depends on personal preference. If you think the cost is high, it is more cost-effective to drive out to the ancient city to eat. There are more choices. The staff is also very warm and thoughtful. The public swimming pool cannot be used by people under 16 years old. Our child is 13 years old and there is no additional dining and accommodation fee. Breakfast is ordered. The toiletries are average. Except for the high room rate, everything else is still very good.

A good experience. I was attracted by the aromatherapy smell in the room. There is a different smell every day when I turn on the bed, and it rotates seven days a week. I tried two kinds: bergamot and cedar

Very good, the best hotel I've ever stayed in, especially the view and breakfast. Each room is very secluded, but the location is very important. Some rooms face the wall, and some are very open. The room we were given was near the restaurant, facing the concert hall, and we could see the camel parade in the morning, which was amazing!

The hotel is in the desert, with unique scenery and beautiful scenery everywhere. The villa is super big and the swimming pool is also big and clean. The breakfast is very average. The buffet part has been cancelled. It is all order-based, and the taste is average. The staff is very slow and dawdling! I guess they know that there will be no repeat customers after a short visit, and the Arabs have poor service awareness. It's all for the scenery! It was almost 5 pm on the day of check-in and there was no room. I got angry at the front desk on the spot and it was solved.

The hotel is located in the scenic area with beautiful environment. However, on the day of departure, we forgot the food we put in the refrigerator. When we checked out, the hotel also checked the room and refrigerator, but the staff did not tell us that there was still some food left. This was a bit regrettable.
