The second time I stayed here, the first time I stayed in a Western-style room. The room was large and very new. The second time I brought my parents to stay, I chose a traditional Japanese-style room. When I opened the window, I could see the snow-capped mountains and mountains. The attitude of the service staff is very good and the experience is very good. Staff will take the initiative to help make the bed at night. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good, each restaurant has a fixed location, and dinner and breakfast are prepared in advance. However, the included meals are vegetarian by default. If you want to change meat, remember to tell customer service in advance.

Great hotel with an amazing view of Lake Chuzenji. We weren’t aware of the self check in policy and we arrived after 6pm so there were no staff around to help us. The self check in machines are a little hard to figure out but one of the restaurant staff helped us and it all worked out in the end. The onsen is great and the free bicycles were wonderful to ride around the lake. The room was comfy and spacious. One issue with the onsen is that you can hear everyone in the female onsen from the male onsen. Usually this is fine because most people are quiet, but one of the nights there were several women and children screaming and talking loudly and shouting to their relatives in the male section.

An extravagant Onsen Hotel experience. I came in Autumn in the depth of fall colours. Every night the wind in the trees lulled me to bed. The rooms with the private tub and terrace are awesome. Dinner and breakfast is luxurious too with a sampling of local Nikko delicacies like Yuba. A hotel for adults looking for calm and solace.

The family is in their 30s. The room is large and the dinner is very luxurious. It is worthy of the specifications of the New Year’s Eve dinner. The service is very meticulous and thoughtful. This was my first time for staying in ryokan. This ryokan has such a delight, warming services and very nice hotel staffs. Although I can not speak japanese, the language did not bring me any problems because we could use google translate and some of the innkeeper can speak English. I felt like I stay in my home and very enjoyed interacting with both hotel staffs and shiobara people. Besides, foods there were so delicious. - traditional japanese food: they wrote a welcome note and descriptions of food in paper (in japanese) eg. Fish came from river beside hotel, everything was from local which I really really love it. - local venison(deer meat): must try yakiniku If you wanna avoid chaotic environment in the city, I would reccommend this place because you would feel a part of nature (natural sound is so nice) and you can find a true calm of your soul. We were very surprised because we were only foreigner tourist in the hotel. Thank you innkeeper and staff for caring us. We always miss there when we come back to busy city!

Very old school ryokan run by very friendly who has been working there for many years. Your name will be displayed on the board next to the entrance of the ryokan to show that they were currently welcoming these guests staying at the ryokan! We stayed there for 2 nights with free parking and we didn’t have to drive anywhere until we checked out as the ryokan is within walking distance to the 3 major world heritage listed shrines including The Toshogu Palace. Avoid room 312 or 313 (which we stayed) which are the smallest rooms. Those rooms in the middle parts are bigger and more comfortable. Do ask for any room facing the back of the ryokan and avoid those facing the front where you only see car parks with coaches coming in the morning bringing tourists to the shrines. The onsite Onsen for ryokan guests, breakfasts and dinners are the highlights. You’d love the traditional Japanese meals served there and you won’t be hungry. Would I come back to this ryokan again? Yes definitely due to its location and friendly staff.

The appearance of the hotel is a bit old. Don't miss this hotel because of the appearance! The hotel has a sense of history and there is an introduction on the wall. Although it is very old, it is very clean. The room is quite large and clean. The room facing Kinugawa has a good view, but the sound of running water is very loud, which has no effect on our good sleep. The hotel hot spring is quite large. The men and women hot springs will change places in the morning, and you can experience different pools. The hot spring is clean and there are not many people. You can also scan the code to check whether the hot spring is crowded or not, and go when there are few people. The hotel has free afternoon tea at 3 pm. The snacks are delicious and the ice cream is also very good. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are particularly rich, and every kind of food is delicious. We stayed for three nights and had a great time every day! All the waiters in the hotel are very warm and friendly! The bus from the hotel to the station needs to be booked in advance!

As a Ctrip Gold Diamond member, I never write reviews for hotels I've been to, but this time, I have to especially thank the hotel's Chinese receptionist, Ms. Yu (I don't know if it's this Yu or that Yu, please forgive me if I write it wrong). Ms. Yu is very serious and responsible in her work, and she is also very enthusiastic and willing to help others. She patiently explained to me the hotel's environmental structure and various precautions, and personally took me to understand the location and usage of the hotel facilities. After learning that I wanted to have a massage to relieve fatigue, she took the initiative to take me to communicate with the masseur to determine the time and specific items, etc. She was very patient. Location is super, very near to Nikko Station, room is adequate if traveling with very light bag pack. Hotel has a small onsen facility (bathhouse), do check with the counter staff on the operating hours. There are nearby super-mart (family mart is just across the road and another one within walking distance) which makes it great to get snacks for the night. Shops/cafe closes relatively early.

The room photos are obviously enlarged. The triple room was changed to a double room. The room is so small that you can hardly turn around. The hot spring is also small and poorly maintained (there is no door closer for the outdoor hot spring). The breakfast is more like a joke. It is a pure diet meal. It is nutritious enough. Two slices of ham are the only meat. There is no porridge. The building has flavor and the service has attitude, but it can't stop the low cost performance. The location is good and convenient for travel. It's okay.
