Pleasantly surprised with this hostel/hotel.
At the heart of Brisbane entertainment zone (Fortitude valley), I selected the dormitory and was impressed by the modern style and atmosphere.
Everything you need (power plug, adjustable reading light) were provided within your pod, it was very sound proof, made it a nice sleep experience. Modern and clean bathroom. And an individual locker.
It is self check in system, I had a problem with it at first but resolved. Quick and easy to use. Nice communal space and kitchen, with self serve bar closing at 10pm.
I loved this place despite some downsides.
It’s in the best area of the island, at walking distance from a stunning beach (Horseshoe bay). I booked it because I’m a digital nomad and Selinas are normally great because they offer a coworking space. The only issue is that I work European hours and I often finish at 9:00pm (as most of digital nomads I guess) but the kitchen closes at 09:00 and all the restaurants in the island close at 09:00pm too. The result is that during the week you cannot eat 😅 that’s not optimal. On top of that Wi-Fi stopped working for one whole evening and the following morning and I was stressing out because I had to send some urgent emails that could not be sent. For the record - there is not even phone signal so you cannot use data as a backup, you really need to rely on the Wi-Fi.
Another flaw is that it’s too far away from everything, the only supermarket is 1hr walk (the bus runs only a few times a day) and they don’t even offer a scooter hire service (I had to get the bus and go to the other l’art of the island - it would be great if they organised something for guests).
Nevertheless if you’re staying for the weekend it’s totally worth it. The staff is really nice, the restaurant offers good food and the place is just like paradise, it’s in the middle of the koala park. You are immersed by nature and it’s stunning. The dorms have very comfy beds and some have their own bathroom which is great. I am writing what to improve just because this place could be even better and has some room for improvement. But I highly recommend anyone to go (and I am already doing so)
This hostel is a bit of a walk from the center and beaches, but it’s conveniently located near the national park. The staff is friendly, and I appreciated the shuttle service to and from the bus stop and town. However, the breakfast options were lacking—just white bread and cereals, with no fresh fruit, eggs, or gluten- and dairy-free alternatives.. The price is too high for what you get.

When the plane arrives at the hotel by TAXI, the fare is 26 knives. The hotel is located near Cairns central. After going left for 30 meters, there is an alley to the east. You can see through the alleys. The supermarkets are all available. The Cairns Railway Station is also here, and you can also take the train from other cities. Go east along Cairns central, then turn right to the pier and walk for about 15 minutes. It is full of bunk beds, suitable for backpackers and young people who are traveling poorly. The public bathroom is very clean and kitchen utensils are provided free of charge. There is a leisure area and swimming pool in the courtyard on the first floor. If English is good enough, you can make a lot of friends. The front desk, a man, a woman and two are very friendly, in short, an unforgettable trip!

The YHA in Brisbane is my favorite in Brisbane. The rooms are clean and big enough (4share), in a convenient location close to the center - and it has a nice rooftop terrace with regular events such as Mario cart night (see pictures)
Only downside for me was that there was a working holiday makers, charging a huge, loudly whirring e-bike battery in the room.
the room is small, not as the images online, locations good, 5mins walk to the beach.
Price a little high, I pay 40 for one night, and I can share with my friends a double room for 80.
Lovely hostel in Coolangatta! Spacious clean rooms, no curtains so get a eye mask for a good sleep! Earbuds for free at the reception which is open 8-5pm. Activities all week, pool area was really nice. Industrial kitchen with a lot of utensils. Bring your own salt and peper lol nice staff. Beach and food (sushi, burgers, subway) 5min walk. You can rent bikes for $20 a day! Room photo taken at 5am lol

Definitely one of the better hostels I’ve stayed in while travelling Australia. However, front desk reception lady was quite rude when checking in. Food and service in the restaurant/bar was shocking. But very clean, good showering facilities, good kitchen facilities, and comfortable beds.

AAnonymous UserHad a wonderful stay at cairns queen court! All the staff were super friendly. They always try their very best to help with our questions and provide suggestions to our trip planning! However, beware of the morning (ard 6:30am) house keeping if you wanna sleep in~ overall, I enjoyed staying there and had lot of fun in Cairns!

JJamesonFredThe hotel was a very average setup, with bare minimum facilities. Its perfect for the pricing offered and the advantage is mainly the prime location. The cleanliness and service are all around the average.
LLi asNomads Magnetic Island is fantastic! It offers a true island vibe with cozy sleep huts and plenty of outdoor space to relax. The bus stop right in front makes it easy to explore the island. The showers are warm and spacious. This is definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed in!
GGuest UserOnly 9 minutes from airport, clean, cosy, welcoming, quality - with pool access and nice hair shampoo and conditioner products, with 2 handy take away options within walking distance. Perfect for night before flight!
SShanice HenawayStayed at this hotel for 4 night paying over $800. Plus had to pay $200 deposit.
20 mins after checking in and storing my belongings into the hotel room.
The manager had knocked on my door and falsely accused me of smoking ********* in his hotel.
Much to his surprise I was telling the truth and he apologized for the accusation.
Upon check out day. I cleaned the floors and all the rest of it. Took pictures for evidence of room when checked out.
Realised i hadnt been refunded my $200. asked for my deposit refund as it hasn't been put back into my account.
Manager denied paying me my deposit back and claimed that he had to pay his cleaners extra for the extra 40 mins they took to clean UNDER our beds. Which he never stated that would be a reason to withhold my full refund.
I left the room clean, no damages to property upon checkout, As manager instructed. I proved I certainly wasn't smoking ********* in his hotel.
Completed a complaints form about his customer service as he still refusing to give me my $200 deposit.
Will never stay there again.
GGuest UserClean and tidy, complete facilities, and a good location. However, the front desk is not on duty 24 hours a day, which seems to be the case for local express hotels. If you need to store your luggage, it is inconvenient. After 4 o'clock, the front desk will not be able to take it out. If there is a one-day tour on the day of check-out, you need to plan the storage of your luggage carefully.
In addition, we booked it for Chinese food, but the Chinese restaurant was closed from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning (I can't remember the exact time), so we didn't eat it anyway. It is recommended to indicate the business hours of the Chinese restaurant in the hotel introduction.
