Here’s a rephrased version of your review:
This hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. A special thanks to Daniel for surprising us with an upgrade to a higher floor with a balcony view when he found out we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary—it was such a thoughtful gesture!
The location is fantastic, with restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets just a short walk away. Plus, the tram stop right across the street made getting around super convenient. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service throughout our stay.
Staff were so helpful and friendly! What a plus. Rooms were exactly what we expected, no surprises. Thanks for a good night rest with good breakfast to start our day off. Will definitely come back and recommend this stay.
The hotel is nicely situated near the airport so that is a plus point. We stayed for 3 nights, which allowed us to visit downtown quite easily via bus and do the car rental at the airport. Security is good and staff were excellent. It's near woolworth supermarket as well as eateries so that is a plus plus point.
A beautiful hotel with tropical / botanical gardens. Has everything you need, nice big park next to it. City center is not far; You can walk (20min) to it or 6-7 min by car. Enough parking places as well. Customer service can be improved overall.
We booked a family room and it was split into two floors where the top level had the big bed and the lower level had the twin beds, which worked well for elderly travelers. The interior was stylish and clean. Kitchen was well equipped with a dishwasher and a range hood. Wish they could've provided ice. The only big downside was the parking situation where despite having a big carpark, they charge NZ$20+ extra for overnight parking.
loved staying here even for just 1 night. very near to sights in the city, staff was pleasant and room ammenities were great we asked for slippers and toothbrushes which are available all you need do is call and they bring it right up. parking is also available just beside the hotel but with a FEE per day😞 other than that we had a lovely stay🙂
We booked one room that has no window. The floor space was very narrow due to the structure, it was impossible to open two suitcases at the same time. The location and price were very good, so I recommend that if you stay for a couple days.

GGuest UserWe stayed 2 nights in the deluxe spa suite and were moderately satisfied. Given the price of the room and coming from a 5 star hotel we expected better.
the wallpaper was torn off in certain places and camouflaged by something, the mini bar was not complete.
the instructions for the bathroom spa not super clear. The shower was also not completely waterproof.
Too bad not to have real sheets for the cover. however, we enjoyed the view and the jacuzzi. comfortable bedding.
for the breakfast option, not at all up to the standard of a 5 star, and that's a shame.
also disappointed, the 2nd evening we wanted to order cocktails for happy hour, the bartender being present told us that the bar was closed for that evening and when we asked if we could have them in our room we were told said no you can order only food , why? while the bartender was present, is this laziness?
The hotel spa amenities were all out of order as well.
At this price and claiming 5 stars we were quite disappointed
FFayreWe are couple with a 5 year old girl. We paid SGD697.85 (Singapore dollar) for staying 2 nights in this “2 bedroom apartment” as stated.
3 points here to explain the terrible experience.
1. tv remote is not working. I don’t mind the owner making excuse like “ replied customer’s message within 20mins…..” but they actually took 29mins to reply (19:10 till 19:39). In fact, they didn’t manage to change the tv remote in the end. So I stayed 2 nights without using the TV!
2.there is no clear and obvious description that this “2 bedroom apartment” is actually an adjoining unit which means when u walked into the front door then there are 2 doors link to split parts of the apartment. The problem of adjoining units are thin walls are used to split the apartment into 2 small units. When u stay in this kind of apartment, u have to endure all kind of noises from whoever staying in neighboring rooms. We had 2 days enduring guesting from the other room shouting, slamming the door, kids screaming like crazy both early in the morning and afternoon!
3. When I reflect this bad experience with trip.com customer service, this hotel responded like they have no fault at all and played with words. This attitude makes us feel like being fooled. We paid money to expect to stay in an apartment with privacy and quiet environment but indeed we had such a bad experience!
In this market, if it’s an adjoining unit, they should not charge at the rate as if it’s an entire apartment.
I’m alright that they rejected to refund the extra amount they charged. Just have to reflect the facts in the review.
Thanks.
KKin-wa ChanHotel located in the city centre. River market just a few minutes away where you can find plenty of restaurants. Bus interchange hub is also within a few minute walk.
AAnonymous UserI stayed in Christchurch for one night while transiting. The room was of a decent size and had some food heating tools. I checked in late that day and the front desk was a Japanese grandfather who was quite enthusiastic. The TV in the room didn't work. The bathtub was not very clean and looked a bit old, but it shouldn't be a big problem if I don't take a hot bath. Fortunately, the shower head has a large amount of hot water.
HHelloI have given 5 stars to this motel for the service, cleanliness and amenities because each aspect of these beat my expectations! I am usually very conservative in giving reviews.
Initially I was expecting very basic service given it is a motel. But when I opened the door of the room I was quite surprised. You could feel the room is very clean and bright. The amenities are sufficient to make a simple meal for yourself. There is also daily housekeeping services as well (given it is a motel).
The staff at the reception are also very helpful. When I first arrived, the reception lady asked me where I planned to go and showed me the ways.
The motel is also close (5-10 minutes walk) to the Main Street at Riccarton and there are a lot of restaurants there. You can also take bus to the city centre which takes about 30 minutes including waiting.
The motel is also very close to the Christchurch railway station which is only 10 minutes walk, great if you are taking the scenic trains. There are also a number of shops near the Railway station and you can do some shopping for clothes, vitamins and fresh food too!

CcallmebycharGreat cozy room. Spacious ensuite. Love the body length mirrors. Just wish I had a window I could open rather than a sliding door that looks out to the street! and the Cleaners should come a little later in the day for those who like a sleep in.
AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful stay in a great location. It was close to Lake Tekapo and the supermarket on the lakeside, and I could see the stars from the garden at night. The area was full of accommodations, but it was quiet and I felt safe. The room was clean, there were two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and the living room was very spacious. There were indoor slippers, so I changed into my shoes, but I think it would be better if the dirt floor was a little larger. But I had a very good time. Thank you very much.
AAh ZhuanWill definitely stay longer if I have the chance! The room was super super big and spacious. The only problem was we have to carry luggage up the stairs. Everything was super good, clean and comfortable
