A lovely little hotel just a few minutes’ walk from the Sakuramachi bus station. Very convenient for getting to the Aso volcano by high speed bus. The station is inside a big mall and you can do most of your shopping there too. The hotel itself was comfy, and I got to do my laundry there which was ace.

It was a pleasant stay with clean room and facilities.  It’s spacious in the public bath which will make it better if it shows how crowd inside the room TV (like some of the other hotels do in Japan; so as the laundry. Other than that, we had a lovely stay and very easy to travel around with shops around, thank you!

A Hidden Gem Near Kumamoto Station The rooms are cozy and well-designed, offering stunning views that really add to the experience. One of the highlights is the hot spring, which features both indoor and outdoor areas, letting you unwind while enjoying beautiful scenery. There’s also a separate space dedicated to enjoying foot baths, which adds a nice touch to the relaxation. Conveniently located, the hotel is connected to a department store with a variety of restaurants and shops. Don’t miss the bakery downstairs—their croissants and bread are freshly baked, crispy, and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely revisit this hidden gem. Highly recommended!

The location is perfectly awesome, which locates one the top of the mall, and the street vendors are across from it. There is a supermarket nearby as well. The room is clean and most of the things are fine. Of course, it’s not spacious but enough for a couple to stay for a few nights.

Didn’t took any photos of the hotel as I felt that most of the other guest would have done so. However I wish to update new travellers about what to expect when staying in this hotel, you will get to see a tower parking just beside the hotel, that parking is sort of affiliated to the hotel hence you can park there and pay just a fixed rate. At my time of stay at Nov2024 period it was about 1200JPY per 24hours. You can park anytime and take the car out anytime to drive out based on what we have experienced. There are lots of food places nearby Take note that you are in the heart of Kumamoto city and when checking out and driving out of the city, our issue was there were too many cars and the Google maps is not responding well perhaps due to the tall buildings. Took a long way out before we reached the Kyushu highway. Hence do familiar yourself with the routes when leaving. Hotel is great! I been a fan of candeo hotels, love the fact that we can go to the onsen late at night too

Great value for what we have paid for. Efficient check-in process. High quality public bath facilities with two hot hot springs (one indoor and one outdoor), one sauna and one cold water pool. Although this hotel is listed as a 3-star hotel, we would say it is much better than many 4-star hotels in many regards. The employees at the check-in desk speak decent English too.

Despite the name, it is not a new hotel. The hotel has undergone renovation, but it still retains a bit of an 80's vibe (e.g. a bar/lounge in the lobby with live music in the evening and metal keys to access the rooms). The breakfast buffet offers good quality and a wide selection. The room is clean with run-of-the-mill, utilitarian furniture and furnishings. There is free VOD. Hotel policy stipulates that the room will be cleaned every 3 days. Otherwise, there is a charge of JP¥ 1,000 for bed makeup & room cleaning. There is no charge for garbage collection, towel replacement. The bus stop for the airport limousine is literally outside the front entrance. The hotel is also conveniently located near the JR Kumamoto Station, streetcar stop and Amu Plaza Mall (a 2-min walk). Hence, there are a lot of dining, shopping and transportation options.

Perfect location. Next to the bus terminal. Close to the business district so have good access to food and shipping. But parking fee is a bit expensive. It was said to be 1000 Yen but I was charged 1100 and 1400 Yen respectively.

The place is clean and tidy. The food (both dinner and breakfast) is one of the vests I have had in Japan!

Highly recommended. The staff are very helpful and polite. The hotel is also in close proximity to shimotori shopping arcade and a big shopping mall. The castle is also within walking distance. The hotel lobby has quite a number of kumamon for photo taking.

This hotel was recently built, so the amenities were perfect. It's a 2 min walk from Aso Station where you can take a bus to Aso crater and a 5 min walk to the nearest Lawsons. The hotel staff were beyond helpful and could speak English well. Their lobby had a ski lounge like feel. Would stay here again.

We drove to the main store at first. Although there is a free shuttle bus from the main store to this branch, remember not to make a mistake if you drive by yourself. The hotel has a children's activity area and a hot water park where you need to wear a swimsuit. There are also two hot spring areas, including carbonated springs and sulfur springs. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to the Aso crater, which is very convenient! There is also free hell ramen for midnight snacks. We bought a hotel package that includes dinner. Dinner has sashimi and local wine to drink. It is very rich and recommended!

Located in the resort area, suitable for self-drive personnel, and zoo, Aso volcano is very close, there is a large free parking lot for parking,, I ordered a one-night 2-eat, dinner, are buffet, dinner highlight is all-you-can-eat matsutake crab legs , all you can drink different sake, the others are the usual Japanese buffet. Nothing special. Breakfast was also no highlight, but there was daylight at breakfast, being able to look at the outside view against the large glass window was relaxing.

The service attitude of the counter staff was good, and the accommodation rules were clearly explained. The public bathhouse on the first floor is well-equipped. There was a little girl crawling in the outdoor female public pool on the top floor, so I didn't go there. There are many types of breakfast, and there is unlimited supply of Aso milk. You can eat a lot. full. It is recommended to live in a high-rise building, so you can see the beautiful scenery of Mount Aso outside the window in the morning.

A beautiful and cozy Ryokan located in a quiet town. It was the new year when I booked a stay with them but I was still able to find stores that are open for dinner. Staffs were able to speak a little English, sufficient enough for standing and communication. They made effort to remember every guests who have checked in and you can only make reservations for their private bath onsen upon check in. Breakfast was sumptuous and needed to be booked as well. If you have more time, I would recommend to book and recharge for two or more nights instead. Will definitely visit again.

We originally booked a small double room, but upon arrival the front desk staff upgraded us to a large room for free, which we were very grateful for. The hotel's dinner is a barbecue buffet with a lot of meat and wine choices, but it is a bit smoky and could be improved. We recommend that hotels provide pick-up service from Aso Station

The dinner food is very rich and fresh, the breakfast is as delicious, there is Asu Shrine nearby, and the private hot spring is very enjoyable. Definitely come again next time.

There are many public and private bath to choose from in this ryokan. Plus you can get the kurokawa onsen pass (tegata) which gives you access to 3 external onsens in the town (most ryokans in town are participating) within one year of purchase of the tegata. We didn’t book dinner at the hotel, and used the diner time to try Nonohana お宿 野の花 and Ryokan Konoyu 黒川温泉 旅館 こうの湯, then next morning before breakfast I went to most of the onsens in the hotel, then after breakfast we checked out and tried Miyama Sanso 山みず木別邸 深山山荘, all four places (including this hotel) have amazing onsens and views. We drove so it was easier for us to try onsens far from the hotel, but driving in town wasn’t the easiest given narrow roads. The parking lot is a few minutes walk from the hotel, we kept the key with us for easy move around.

It is a location where you can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Tsuetate and was impressed by the sincere service of the staff. The buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner is made up of a variety of high-quality foods. The tableware was beautiful, the food was all delicious, and the staff were very friendly. It was a really happy time to enjoy a variety of hot springs, including two hot spring facilities in the hotel and a variety of hot springs, including Kisanoyu outdoor hot springs. Even after leaving the room, I was impressed by the shuttle to the terminal. I had a really satisfying time with my family. Thank you.

The location is very good, it is very convenient to go to Aso Volcano in the morning! There are plenty of parking spaces, which is very good for self-driving tours. The rooms are relatively Japanese-style and old, but clean! The room is very spacious and there is also a hot spring to soak in! There are both outdoor and indoor facilities, so it’s very suitable to reserve time to soak in the hot springs.

I've been to Kurokawa Onsen a few times, but this was my first time at Oda Onsen. The indoor bath in the room is available 24 hours a day, so I used the large public bath right after checking in and the next morning. At night, I used the bath in my room. My skin became so smooth and silky. There were a few other inns nearby, but they were all separate buildings. It was quiet and I was able to relax. The staff told me there was nothing nearby, but it was nice and different from the bustling tourist destination of Kurokawa Onsen. We ate in a private room, and enjoyed the kaiseki cuisine. I told them in advance that I don't like raw meat, so they prepared a substitute for Kumamoto's specialty horse meat, which I was very happy with. I would like to stay here again if I have the chance.

The hotel is located on a plateau plain, which is very affected by the weather. There is often heavy fog and hazy phenomena, and the scenery may not necessarily be good. However, the air is very fresh and the temperature is perfect. In addition, the hotel facilities are good and the food is very diverse and attractive. The room is so big and convenient for picking up luggage. Because the location is not very convenient, it is only recommended for self-driving travelers.

The hotel is worth it, and the staff is very enthusiastic! I was lucky enough to see both the first snow and the maple leaves, which were really beautiful. I must come again when it snows and stay for two nights. The dinner and breakfast are indeed not delicious, but they are very filling. If I drive myself, I will not choose dinner, just breakfast. The hotel includes pick-up and drop-off, and you need to contact in advance. You can pick up from the bus station or from the bus parking lot if you sign up for a one-day tour like me. The tour guide will help you call, or you can directly let Ctrip customer service contact. Ctrip service is still very good, although it is a little more expensive than other platforms

A very satisfying stay! The design of the cabin is stunning. The two-story independent cabin allows children to climb up and down as much as they like. The owner of the B&B is very enthusiastic. Even if he doesn't understand the language, he tries his best to use translation software to introduce Kurokawa Onsen's attractions and B&B facilities. It really makes people feel like returning to their hometown. Kurokawa is very quiet at night, and you can really enjoy the tranquility and leisure of the deep mountain hot springs. The cabin is fully equipped and can be used for simple cooking. I cooked Japanese sukiyaki pot with the children in the cabin, which was very satisfying! The outdoor hot spring in the B&B is another amazing place. Because it was summer, we didn’t make a reservation for the hot spring. The owner of the B&B enthusiastically invited us to enjoy it (unexpectedly). Unexpectedly, it turned out to be an independent open-air hot spring. I highly recommend making a reservation. It’s too Feel comfortable! The next day, the children were very reluctant to say goodbye to the owner of the B&B and the owner's dog. Along the way, they still missed the comfortable bed (actually just a tatami sleeping mat) in the B&B. I will definitely visit again next time I have the opportunity! A very pleasant experience, the independent cabin has a beautiful environment, the cabin is clean and comfortable, the most pleasant surprise is the meal, the dinner is a five-course Western food, very delicious, breakfast is also rich, the host is amiable, friends who play in Nan'asu can consider

Overall very satisfied 👍 Clean Japanese-style room, friendly reception staff⋯ The kaiseki cuisine for breakfast/dinner is very rich, and the plum wine is something I will never forget😋 The hot spring is very hot and comfortable♨️There are two options: large bath and family bath! If I hadn’t been rushing to catch up on my schedule the next day, I would have really wanted to soak in the hot springs again♨️

Unfortunately it was a cloudy day, but the view from our room was amazing. We apologize for the inconvenience as our child has allergies, but they prepared a separate menu and everything was delicious! The staff were all kind and had a calm impression, making us feel very relaxed. The bath was clean, there were many types of shampoo that you would see in a drugstore, and there were many types of hair dryers, including ReFa and Yanmar, so it was nice to be able to try out a variety of them!
