I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Birmingham, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. This hotel is a true gem in the heart of the city, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone visiting Birmingham. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the front desk team went out of their way to make me feel at home. I was thrilled to be upgraded to a deluxe room with a stunning view of Birmingham’s skyline, which added a special touch to my stay. The room itself was spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable – I slept like a dream every night! I loved the little touches, like the Nespresso machine, high-speed Wi-Fi, and the sleek bathroom with a powerful rain shower and luxurious toiletries. Everything felt well thought-out, making my stay both relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel’s facilities were top-notch. The on-site restaurant was a highlight, offering a fantastic breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options, from fresh pastries and fruit to full English breakfast items. I also enjoyed a delicious dinner there one evening – the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable. The bar area was a great spot to unwind with a cocktail after a day of exploring the city. The location of the Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham is unbeatable, especially if you want to be in the heart of the action. It’s just a short walk from major attractions like the Bullring Shopping Centre, Birmingham New Street Station, and the vibrant Brindleyplace area, making it perfect for both leisure and business travelers. the room was okay but most the time it was cold i had to stand by the heating to warm up, everytime i flushed the toilet it would make a loud noise and i’d be scared to incase other people would wake up at night, everything else was fine

Cheapest budget hotel (for three guests) with reasonably good reviews I could find in Trip. Service staff were helpful. Downers are the sewage smells that emanated from the sink whenever someone showered from above. Not soundproof; noise made by inconsiderate guests could be heard from the corridor and the floor above. Shower area is like a capsule but its door is avant garde, with a hole in place of a door knob.

I like the normal central heating compared with some hotels that have electric heaters- because you can dry your clothes. Bonus that there is a wall plug -in socket by the bedside unit( which has drawers too. That way, you can charge your phone nearby when in bed. Mine was a single room. Loved the new bathroom with a dual shower( rainfall and flexible shower ( I hate fixed shower heads ). Plus point was the rubber/ plastic mat to use as you come out of the shower. It's such a reasonable rate at this hotel. Plus, it's great for single travellers - then you are not paying for a double room. Biscuits are also a plus and the huge TV screen with free Internet that's not limited

I booked the hotel on Trip.com. The earliest check in time was 3pm. Check in was easy. I asked for a room on a certain floor and not too close to the elevator and got exactly what I wanted. Staff was friendly and professional. The room was nice & clean, with all necessary amenities included. The location is excellent. Its a short walk (under 9 mins) to Birmingham New Street station also known as Grand Central. Hotel is also very close to Bullring Mall. Shops, restaurants & banks are all within easy access to the hotel. I did not eat any meals in the hotel. Ate out at different restaurants. The hotel amenities are good and well stocked. King size room amenities: kettle, tea coffee milk, safe, mini fridge, ironing board, iron, hair dryer and toiletries. The shower does not have a glass door, instead it had a shower curtain which was torn on the top. The windows are not double glazed. It rained heavy. The sound of strong winds & rain hitting on to the windows was too loud. Double glazed windows would have solved that issue. The fire alarm went off on Friday morning 3 or 4 times in a row. I tried calling reception a few times but the line was engaged. The hotel should have informed all guests about the fire alarm but they failed to do so. I had to ask one of the cleaners about the alarm. She told me it was nothing to worry about. In general, I would gladly recommend this hotel to others due to location, cleanliness and comfort.

The check-in was easy & efficient, as it took few minutes. Location was walkable to Birmingham New Street Station. It was in quiet location just opposite to Snow Hill One & Two. Price was very reasonable. As usual, room was clean & tidy. Free breakfast was good, but bit busy. I lost my right earbud airpod on bed. I called & recovered it the same day. Great service!

Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and attentive, was able to do an early check in for the price of £15 which is great. However the woman with glasses did make a mistake of shouting my door number out loud (I work in hotels and you’re not supposed to do this you usually just have the room number on the card that’s holding the key card) so people in the corridor knew where was my room was, which made me a bit uneasy as a female solo traveller. When I entered the room there was a weird smell to it so I just turned the fan on and opened the window and it went. The bathroom sink was dirty and had dry used toothpaste sliding down the side and the right single bed had someone’s hair and a little brown spot on it. So I slept on the left. Beds are really comfortable, only problem rooms get really hot even with fan on and you can’t open window widely. Will stay again as it’s a cheap stay for one night. Easy commute, right outside Coventry pool meadow bus station.

Best hotel that I had already recommended to many of my friends. Best location with best price. Very helpful and friendly staff. Free hot/ice water provided. Vending machine and coffee machine just next to the ground floor elevator. 2min walk to new street station, 1 min walk to the nearest grocery store.

Nice cozy place with a wonderful, friendly staff. Good location close to the city center and Grand Central Railway station. The shared area is rather big and nice decorated. Beds are comfortable, and rooms are warm and homely. 1 bathroom for 10 beds may be too low, but I've never been in a queue.

The lady in reception who was working until 11pm was VERY helpful. Lovely lady. Maybe late 40s or so, didn’t catch her name. The rooms being key operated shows their age and the lock on the door didn’t work, but I felt safe anyway! :)

The staff's attention is discriminatory, for several nights 1 they did not put towels, another night they left us without shampoo and they added water to the hand soap, additionally they checked what was served for breakfast, they checked every day very carefully. We left very sad, we couldn't wait to run away from this hotel, we were very bored.

I would stay here again! I loved the location of the hotel. It is right inbetween the city center (New Street Station & Bullring) and the beautiful Brindley Place are by the old canal. The room itself was clean and looked mostly like it was in the picture, I also had a pretty cool view onto the old canal from the 15th floor. The carpet and the couch looked a bit ”worn down”, but it was clean nonetheless. The staff was friendly, nice and very helpful. It was nice that the breakfast was included and there was a good choice of breakfast options. I can 100% recommend this hotel when staying in Birmingham. I had a nice time and didn't miss anything while staying at the Holiday Inn Express.

No complaints - the hotel is walkable from the New Street Station and the room itself is expected from the crowne plaza chain. Spacious room and generous 2 double beds as standard. Only very minor complaint is that the buffet breakfast could have had a bit more choice with the hot food.

I recently stayed at here, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The service stood out the most – the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and eager to help. From check-in to check-out, I felt well taken care of, and they were quick to respond to any requests. The facilities were modern and well-maintained. The rooms were clean, spacious, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The hotel also had excellent recreational options, including a well-equipped gym and a relaxing pool area. I particularly enjoyed the lounge space, which was comfortable and inviting, perfect for unwinding after a long day.

I was in room 187 the noise from the pipes for the 2 days I was there was terrible I left after 2 days exhausted from lack of sleep the room was lovely and the bed was great but I ask the management to go into that room and flush toilets from other rooms and you will hear what I mean. I couldn’t believe how bad it was I won’t lie. Paint in the bathroom could do with a little TLC

Efficient for the check-in , £5 was paid for the parking. It was easy for the drivers to find the actual location on the map, therefore I would say it is convenient to reach. What I like about the room is that the design of the room is reasonable and fully functional. The mattress was a bit hard but it is fine for me. Besides, it is seldom to see that the stool is separated from the shower, which is quite considerable. We enjoyed the stay.

This hotel was average. The room was clean but lacked any special amenities or decor that would make it stand out. The staff were polite but seemed indifferent to guests' needs. Overall, the experience was satisfactory but not memorable.

The hotel is in a friendly location, convenient for walking anywhere, the environment is very good and clean, the reception is also gentle and polite, the room is very exquisite, the facilities are complete, I stayed for a total of three nights, the room on the first night did not have heating, the room after two days had heating, but it was not always on, I think the hotel adjusted it by itself, fortunately the weather was not too cold, overall I was satisfied

A hotel that’s perfect for public transportation and by car: it’s this. On the square opposite Coventry Rail Station along the main road with drop off access. Part of the IHG brand, the hotel is stuffed with modern, quirky colourful decor including a silver open top Austin Healy in the reception area. The ground floor is one big open space that navigates from lobby to bar to restaurant/breakfast area and an exit where the outdoors semi enclosed seating area is. It’s Britain, so no heaters or covers but it’s an acceptable smoking area! Upon checking in we received a 20% voucher off all the F&B which doesn’t happen often. The kitchen was closed by 9 but we and our friends enjoyed a drink in the bar area. The room was super lovely, all brand new, super clean and nicely decorated. Personalised smart TV but the smart function didn’t work alas! Overall: a wonderful experience!

I’ve stayed here before not a problem,but this time was terrible I stayed in the car park 1 hours thought they’d made a mistake on the booking the hotel looked like a demolition site no sign of entrance or reception very disappointing,gave me a disability room which I refused to stay in at a different hotel , I think the manager was Richard who helped us get a different room he was very friendly but the room was in lower ground smelling of sewage in hallway’s and damp in the room ,we both suffer with asthma and anxiety , all the lady staff was very polite and welcoming but I don’t want to stay here again

Absolutely wonderful stay. Have been here several times and as always the service and hotel was perfect. Beverley as always was a joy, helpful, friendly and an absolute laugh. Other front of house were lovely too! The rooms are clean and well maintained and the hotel also has the benefit of a pool which is great for the kids. Always stay here when I’m Coventry (unless fully booked or too expensive) and will recommend the hotel to all.

When you walk in the room is immaculate and clean. Bed was comfortable with good pillows and room was warm upon arrival which was a bonus. The toilet had enough clean towels, toilet itself was clean, good water pressure plus it was hot. The inly downside there was no teabags/coffee but nothing reception cannot resolve. Would recommend Novotel perfect location 5mins walk from the train station, parking on site and it is well in the city centre if you want to get some food.

Paid for a king superior room that transpired to be smaller than a Premier inn room. It was room 111 with 2 of the 3 sealed double glazed blown with internal condensation . There was just enough room to walk around the bed,. If you want to watch TV then you’ll be watching it from your bed either sat on the end or sat up on it. There’s a fixed desk with 1 chair pushed under it as directly below the TV. Reception said it was correct .I got conned the photos advertising this property and won’t be returning here again

We really can't say enough good things about Ely House -- we had such a wonderful stay! Gloria and Sam both went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible -- nothing was too much trouble and they were super friendly and attentive -- we really felt welcome! Breakfast was first rate and Sam's service was flawless. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this lovely hotel located just minutes from the centre of town to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Wolverhampton area.

The house built in early 1856, and later expanded several times, a very classical hotel. The room is small and there is no extra decoration. The surrounding area is full of residential houses. It is a ten-minute walk from the nearest small supermarket. A young lady at the bar smiled every day and was very enthusiastic. Hot breakfast is good.

Lovely staff, young and rushed off their feet, stayed for one night, stayed before 2018. Confused I paid for the privilege to stay in the hotel to attend the horse racing and watch Madness. Yet was confused that the hotel let anyone in to use the bar, from the race course when there was ample bars in the race ground for anyone not staying at the hotel. After Madness finished the only bar open is the hotel bar, because show is finished 10.00 home time and they want you out if you’re not staying at the hotel, which is fine, but if you are staying in the hotel as many of us were , bar was full, rammed so of course people wanted to sit outside because there are tables for the hotel outside but security had been told not to let anyone outside with drinks, how stupid is this, I understand you want to close the race course, so you need to restrict people from using the hotel if they aren’t staying there, and don’t be greedy and take peoples money knowing your going to be 60 people plus in a reception bar area, tiny thing like covdi happen few years back you should only serve hotel guest because that’s what you are, a hotel. And help the poor bar staff, young girl on her own, blokes walking out with 3/4 pints not paying and she’s on her own can’t chase them. Ps didn’t stay for breakfast too expensive, I was going to but even though it had increased in price quite a bit, but remembered it was cold last time we stayed.
