Hotel Dengan Bar di Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil

I wasn't satisfied with the details. The flushing in the room was small, and when I washed my hands, my hands were hit, and the drain valve was immediately clogged and the water leaked. The room was not very sunny. 細かい所で満足いかなかったです。部屋の水まわりが小さくて手洗い時に手が当たったり、すぐに排栓が詰まったりして水が漏れたりしました。また日当たりが悪かったです。しかし日本人の感覚で言ってるのでこれが普通かもしれません。（すいません、写真忘れました）

There was a problem with the water running out in the middle of the night. Luckily, I had already taken a shower. But we had to go without flushing the toilet. The pool is great, as is the terrace where it is located. The breakfast was delicious. The room was comfortable, as was the bed, but I found the bathroom a little small and cramped. I found the service at check-in to be a bit haphazard, the employee seemed stressed, but at check-out the employee was kind and polite.

Although slightly out of the way, the views and proximity to the beach are excellent. However, the service is quite poor and way below international standards. Most staff stand around and play with their phones (even the life guard). Breakfast is basic and doesn’t change from day-to-day. Some of the restaurant’s food is frankly embarrassing for any type of food outlet. The chefs should be quite ashamed to send it out. The pool is area is nice but worn out. No one cleans it during the day and tables are dirty. The loungers have seen better days. English language is quite rare apart from the receptionists, which to be fair, they’re probably the best staff there. The potential of the hotel is there - just needs good management and training. Do better!

I’d describe this hotel as utilitarian. No decor or warmth at all. The common areas are spacious and quite bare.Table and chairs at the restaurant are plain brown wood, The lobby is sparsely furnished with some worn , drab and very uncomfortable seats. Bathrooms are the same. Just the very bare essentials, not even a box of tissue paper ( and thin toilet paper) We travelled long hours,  arrived at 22:00 looking forward to a good shower …not to be. We were up for a bad start. There  was just a trickle of water not enough to bathe or properly brush teeth either. That could have been a whole area problem as we were told that water pressure can sometimes drop in some areas of the city. We changed rooms , water pressure  wasn’t much better the next day either, the water flow improved just a little and remained as such the whole week. We had paid for 5 nights and ended up staying as the city was packed that week . To go looking for another hotel during the G20 summit which Rio was hosting that week of November 2024 would not be an easy task.  On the positive side, staff was pleasant and accommodating, bed was comfortable and from our perspective, the breakfast buffet was the best feature of this hotel offering abundant variety of  food to meet all tastes- cereal, fruits and cheeses, cold cuts, several hot savory breakfast  dishes - incl. some Brazilian regional dishes as well, a huge selection of breads, cakes, good coffee, and more. Very satisfying. Including breakfast in the booking is highly recommended.  The good fare offered at the hotel at lunch and dinner not good at all. However, there are also three of four restaurants lined up on a small stretch within 5 min walking distance of the hotel- one of them is a very good authentic European Portuguese cuisine and wine. Aprox. US$ 52 for a meal for two. On the same cluster of shops there is a well established Brazilian cuisine restaurant with a good menu where one can eat well for anything  between US$ 12  to US$ 15 and a steak house similar to the Australian Outback steak house.  There are also other eateries snd convenience shops, a pharmacy on the same stretch ( 5 min walk ffrom the hotel) including a 24 hr laundromat where one can expect to wash and dry a load for about US$ 7.  As for location, this hotel is not close to the most well known districts of Rio - places like Copacabana, Ipanema , Leblon - but Barra da Tijuca is a special area in itself and arguably has the best beach in town. The hotel is just a 10 - 15 min taxi ride to Barra Shopping-  the largest and best shopping mall in the whole state of Rio de Janeiro where one can find anything,  including restaurants (recommend trying Jappa all you can eat Japanese food spread for US$ 26 as in Nov 2024). On the whole , when compared with the fashionable and pricey districts of Copacabana , Ipanema Leblon  this hotel is good value for money . I’d stay there again if they fixed the shower situation b’cause this feature matters for me.

The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities. The water pressure of the bathroom tap is low and the breakfast is rich. The hotel is conveniently located, with many restaurants around. It is 70 meters away from the subway entrance. It is a recommended budget hotel for traveling in Rio de Janeiro

There are some areas for improvement: common areas need renovation, and there is better lighting in the hallways on the floors. The service is a positive point.

Staff universally excellent. All very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool and bar were a particular highlight. The only downside was the location. You need to take a taxi to pretty much anything other than the mall next door.

I was looking for a hotel for the New Year holidays in Rio de Janeiro. For the price that you can only rent a dubious hostel for in Copacabana, I rented a room in a full-fledged excellent hotel Windsor with history and corresponding service The location in the center (although there are also a number of interesting sights near the hotel) is easily compensated by using Uber (to the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema - about 45 BRL, Jardim Botanico - 26 BRL, Barra da Tijuca - 60 BRL, from the airport GIG - 63, back - 44 That is, taxi prices in Rio are very affordable Among the undoubted advantages, I will note a varied breakfast with a large number of hot dishes, fruits, natural juices, pastries. Breakfast is enough for the whole day Among the minuses: - non-working hair dryer, safe - very noisy built-in ventilation (had to open the window at night) - next to the hotel - a large number of homeless people, the smell of corrections (but this is not the fault of the hotel, of course), therefore the area nearby is not conducive to walking

Great hotel very helpful and friendly staff lovely breakfast and a small shop inside for essentials, the gym is well laid out and there is plenty of seating. The only suggestion would be to have a cash machine as that would be helpful at times when travelling out. The shuttle bus to and from the airport is great and saves allot of time and hassle. Would rate the hotel above the stars given

Excellent accommodation for family and children. A comfortable hostel, excellent staff and with great fun for children.

Once again, the Serena Hotel has surprised us for the service and quality of service! We stay in a huge and very comfortable room!!! Without talking about staff education and a beautiful breakfast!!! I always indicate!!! When we get back to the dive, we will certainly host here!! And now it will be with our baby that is already coming!!!

The service at the pool by the waiters, especially Danilo, deserves a round of applause. The menu has fair prices for different tastes and dishes. Everything very delicious. Don't forget to try the super filling shrimp pastry and the sun-dried meat with cassava. We didn't like the noise from the air conditioning, and the service from the reservations department, staff who were harsh in their responses. Excellent pool. Location note 1000

O hotel é maravilhoso, no centro perto de tudo para ir andando, quem é de fora do país é excelente pra fazer amizades, no hotel tem um grupo de moradores e sempre tem atividades para se fazer. Eu só nao gostei muito do café da manha pois como boa brasileira eu gosto de café da manhã em buffet a vontade, e lá o café é de forma individual, você escolhe uma opção entre 5 que tem e eles te servem, tem opções para gringos e brasileiros, mas gosto mais de comer a vontade e escolher, fora isso foi tudo completamente perfeito.

The car's upstairs to park is horrible and the stairs to access tbm are very tiring. The hostel is good in itself, clean and comfortable rooms.

The hostel and beautiful ! The swimming pool at night and what is most beautiful, to drink just moon ! ! I was just sad because it was my birthday and they promised a commemorative cake and for 3 times I warned the 3 reception and they even gave my cake .... I went away without !

Excellent attention, service, food and view and location of the hotel is fantastic!!!

I love this hotel very much but this time I was disappointed with the smell of mofety in room 230 I was strong. I don't know if it was pq I drank coffee at 7 hours but I had cold and apple and whole pears . The garage is free! I loved it! The staff were very careful! I'll give another chance.

The hotel is in a very good location , 5 minutes walking and you are on the beach . It’s a very beautiful building and the room is clean, the service was very good, all the employees were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, with many options, including fruits and local things. We stayed during New Year’s Eve , and we choose a good place to escape from the crowd Copacabana, Praia do Recreio is more quiet and clean, there were some noises from fireworks but nothing comparing to Copacabana.

Very good value for money. Well located hotel with comfortable rooms, however some details need to be improved such as air conditioning and sockets

The hotel is located just 1 minute from the beach, the attention is spectacular.

Very good structure, perfect service. nice space, front to the beach. There is another unit on the same street and you can use the structure of the two places. Rent surfboard, give class too. I recommend stay!
