Red lantern Inn gives the best service among all the hotels I’d stayed so far in China. The owner and his wife picked me up from the Train station 20 min away. The location is superb, inside the old city and located just 5 min walk from the North Gate. The Mansion is so beautiful and well kept for hundreds years old building unless you like everything new or modern. The best part is Xiao Lei, the sweet and polite inn keeper who’s extremely helpful although we had to use Google translator to communicate. He goes all out of his ways to do anything to make your stay comfortable and your visit enjoyable. He cannot explain how to but the ticket for the Old city, so he walks with me to the office. He also drives an electric truck to deliver my luggages to the north gate and call the taxi for me to the airport. I’ll definitely come back to stay here if I come visit Pingyaogucheng again. I completely recommend this inn to everyone.

Keep in mind you will need to take your luggage from the west gate to the hotel by foot as the taxis can't enter and the hotel is in a pedestrian street. The rooms have a glass wall to the courtyard that lets you take in the views and you can draw the curtains close for more privacy. We had a corner room and it was very comfortable. Breakfast had few options, but it was very tasty. The bathroom needed a new curtain that didn't smell, but that is our only complaint and likely an oversight. All in all a great place to stay when visiting Pingyao ancient city.

The room was very nice and clean and all the facilities were great! I left early in the morning and the staff helped me to arrange a ride to the train station, really amazing service! Would recommend this place to everyone!

You have to stay here! Everything is perfect. Hotel is lovely. Staff are so welcoming and helpful. We had a problem and one staff member had excellent English and could solve our problem. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Thank you again, I highly recommend your hotel.

The hotel located in the ancient city of Datong right in front of the Huayan Monastery is wonderful. Spotlessly clean, furnished with style and elegance. The owners are very kind. Fresh fruit every day and ready to fulfill our wishes and requests.The beds are very comfortable and the linen is of excellent quality. Bathroom toiletries are provided. If you visit Datong you absolutely must not miss it! Absolutely recommended!

This hotel was really good! It was in a smaller alley, so not alot of noise, close to the ancient city. In 10 minutes walk you will already have the views of the city walls. It was very easy to reach by bus from the high speed train station (Datongnan). The room was beautiful, bed was super comfy and everything was clean. No cigarette smell either. Staff was really friendly and could speak some English which was pleasant. There is also a coffee and cocktail bar in the lobby, we only tried the coffee, but it was a nice!

You can book cars to other nearby attractions and tickets to See Pingyao from the boss. The boss will help us with the strategy. Very nice and responsible! A satisfactory hotel stay experience during the National Day holiday in Shanxi. The transportation is particularly convenient. It is just off the highway. There is also a Jinbei Assembly Hall next to the hotel. The northwest dishes are quite authentic. Recommended.

The service was very good. The original room had a bit of odor, so I upgraded to a twin room for free. There were problems that were promptly responded to and handled. The room was quiet and tidy. The corridor was quiet. I had a good rest. The breakfast was also good with a lot of variety. I will come again next time~

I traveled to Datong with my family and chose this hotel for the convenience of travel. I stayed for a total of four nights. It only takes about ten minutes to get off the high-speed rail station by Didi. I didn't expect it to be a brand of Raddison. The hotel is only a 7-8 minute walk from the tourist through bus (near Niushun Hotel) - it is very convenient to reach the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda and Hengshan/Hanging Temple. It takes more than 20 minutes to take a taxi to the Yungang Grottoes. It is also a 15-minute walk to the Fahua Temple and the Nine Dragon Wall in the ancient city. Scan the code and ride the small yellow car to Yanhua Temple/Shanhua Temple for 15 minutes. It takes about 715 to 20 minutes to get to Datong Museum by Didi. The hotel facilities are new and there is no odor. The bath water is very large, just like a heavy rain. The bath products and body lotion are also very good. The breakfast is also rich, taking into account both Chinese and Western tastes. The bedding is very good, with many pillows and both soft and hard, which is the key to a good sleep. The room is even equipped with drip coffee, which is a blessing for coffee lovers. In addition, the laundry room is also my favorite. Having stayed in so many hotels, this one really left a deep impression on me! The environment is elegant, the decoration is exquisite, and it is full of high-end feeling. The room is well soundproofed and very quiet at night. The hotel's catering service is also excellent. The restaurant's dishes are delicious and the chef's cooking skills are quite amazing. The service staff is friendly and responsive, making you feel at home. The 5-star rating is well deserved!

The property is at a quiet corner within the old city, very near the main sights but yet nice and quiet and night. Room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

The hotel is well located in the center of the ancient city, with convenient access to all directions. This courtyard seems to have the magic of a magic weapon. Although it is in the middle of the bustling and noisy ancient city, as long as you enter the courtyard, you will return to peace. The room is very clean and the decoration is antique. Even in the cold winter, the room is warm enough to wear a skirt. The facilities are smart, and the small room reflects the integration of traditional culture and modern technology. I love the hustle and bustle of the ancient city, and I also enjoy the peace and beauty that the courtyard brings me!

When you come to Pingyao, you must stay in the old courtyard, the big earthen kang, the former residence of the old shopkeeper. I am honored to have chosen the old house. The environment is very good, the service is particularly good, there are many foreign friends, the location is very close to the parking lot, and it is very convenient to drive by car. The proprietress and the boss are very hospitable, not only introducing the itinerary, but also helping to adjust the TV programs. The hotel is near the intersection of South Street and Yamen Street. It is not far to go to various attractions. The proprietress also distributed discounted tickets to several restaurants, including Hongwuji and Yao Mansion, and gave away two bottles of mature vinegar before leaving. Traveling with children, playing well, staying well, is really a very pleasant trip.

Very close to the Datong South station, about 5 min by car. Spacious rooms, bathrobes provided, excellent tea (proper tea, no teabags!) inside the room. We stayed for 2 days. Easy ride to the ancient city of Datong, about 15-20 min, I think. The only inconvenience was that the heating is on all the time, i had to keep the window openn throughout the night. And the reception is not 24/7 as advertised. When we tried to check out at 6:30 am to go to the Hanging Monastery, there was noone. We called them afyerwards, and everything was sorted though, they even let us come back and leave our bags till the evening when we had spare time before the train.

The hotel is really good and convenient. It's in a walking distance from the Ancient City and Walls, there are several small shops and local food stalls around it. The breakfast is completely Chinese style, but it's good. The gym is very small, in fact, not even a separate room, just very few machines, but it was not that important for us. Personnel are very helpful. Everyone did their best to make our stay comfortable. Especially, the manager Kristina - she is very kind, helpful, assisted us a lot, with some practical things and some advice, when it was necessary. Definitely, will stay here another time.

very nice and clean hotel. Very near to the ancient city entry gate. Locating is also very near to the gathering spot for my tour that will start early in the morning. When we check out, they even gave each of us a packet of local snacks. Love it!

Amazing and really clean hotel. Everything was new and really nicely decorated. It is a bit hidden so I recommend contacting the staff before hand. The service was phenomenal. Both the boss and her employee were super nice and accommodating. They had really good recommendations and they even drove us to places. Breakfast was excellent as well. Really tasty and great choices. When we came back after being in the cold, they even brought us special rose tea to get warm again.

Vienna Hotel is located in a good location, within walking distance to the ancient city, Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, Nine Dragon Wall, etc. The hotel hardware is not very good. The shower head is just a small one, the water is not hot, the room soundproofing is not good, the service staff is not very enthusiastic, there are no disposable slippers when we checked in, the parking space is underground, which is a bit far, and you have to carry your suitcases and bags to the underground parking space, and there are a few steps before taking the elevator. The advantage of choosing this hotel is that it is close to the ancient city. Just for reference.
