It was my first time at the InterContinental Shijiazhuang. When checking in, I had to wait for a room. The duty manager Bliss, offered a compensation measure, which made the entire check-in process full of pleasant surprises.

I want to praise this hotel. Let's not talk about other things. Just the service is too good! Thumbs up to 03-166 and 03-153. The two brothers are considerate and ready to help pick up the luggage before we get off the car. They told us that there is a children's playground when they saw that we had a baby and had not checked in. The room was also warm, well-equipped and clean. When we checked out, they remembered that we had a baby and gave us a Capibara. It's super cute! I will choose this place for business trips in the future! Thumbs up!

What a lovely gem of a hotel! I was reluctantly (very reluctantly) persuaded to leave Beijing for the weekend and head for the nesrest beach - Qinhuangdao. The Bullet Train was great fun - we splashed out on first-class tickets and had the first-class cabin all to ourselves. Qinhuangdao was a welcome change of pace from the self-important hussle of Beijing. The bad things first - the weather was terrible and the beach itself is more 1970s Blackpool than present-day Antibes. But the Hampton by Hilton was a delightful surprise. The staff are absolutely delightful. Although they don’t speak English, the use of a few translation apps soon explained to them what we needed and they always did their best to look after us. The rooms are great - we even got a free upgrade to a suite. The breakfast options are many and varied. We were the only Western guests that weekend and the other guests seemed to be Chinese middle-class families. If I had to guess I would say they tended to be from other parts of China as they didn’t seem to be the usual rude impatient Beijingers. It was lovely to see Al the little children having fun with their parents. So, our thanks to the ladies at Reception, the young concierge guys, the housekeepers and the busy breakfast staff. The owners of the this hotel is blessed with great staff. Thank you all so much for looking after us so well.

Overall a great hotel, and we loved our room and the swimming pool (the changing rooms and showers are amazing!) but there were some issues. Our door cards constantly stopped working even though we told the staff every time we extended our booking. The gym was much too hot, almost too hot to work out in. The shower in the room was not hot enough and the water temperature fluctuated a lot. Breakfast was very disappointing; the breakfast room so freezing that a lot of people had to wear their coats to breakfast and a lot of the food was cold even at 7.30am. The service at breakfast was poor and there was little good western food. Undeniably the view is absolutely stunning though. The worst thing was the internet, which even for Chinese websites was extremely slow, and that more than anything else spoiled our stay.

The hotel is close to Jinshanling Great Wall entrance so it's very convenient to stay one night and be able to see sunset and sunrise on the great Wall. Obviously there are not many connections with Beijing, just a bus running on weekends. The closest station is Gubeikou, about 30km away. They offered us a taxi but it was too expensive. Better to use didi app on your own. They have a restaurant inside the hotel so you can have lunch or dinner there. The room was comfortable and clean with all toiletries and a balcony.

Being a part of Chengde Imperial Mountain Resort, the hotel is one of Emperor Qianlong's 36 scenic spots of Chengde (#6). The hotel itself has a lot of historical value, not only the building but the garden areas. The tree in the middle of the compound is 300 years old and has been here since the beginning. Pro: location is one of the best if you're looking to visit Chengde Imperial Mountain Resort (500m away from the front gate), the rooms & beds are clean and comfortable. Con: one downside is that the breakfast buffet area, the facilities are dated and the breakfast options are geared towards more Chinese style breakfast, no Western continental breakfast here so come prepared.

The staff are nice and very approachable They are wonderful and helpful. Check - in and check out were hassle free. In terms of the location, it may not be at the centre of commercial area (McDonald's wont deliver there) but it is just across the Handan East Railway Station so it is good. The facilities are better than expected. Breakfast maybe is amazing for Chinese but for non- Chinese, the choices are limited. In general, it is a good hotel and I highly recommend it specially for those who needs to travel via Railway.

The hotel environment is very good, the service is thoughtful, and I noted a quiet and well-lit room. The hotel arranged it very carefully. There is a large lawn downstairs. There is a beer festival at night. It is very suitable for a relaxing vacation. Next to it is the botanical garden. The air is fresh and the scenery is pleasant. It is recommended to stay

Overall the experience was good but at check-in I was surprised at the line of questioning from the clerk. Why is the name of the local company I came to visit required during check-in? My visa is a resident visa so I was surprised at this line of questioning. Other than that I don’t have any complaints and quite enjoyed my stay.

The room we were given only had a small window but it had a nice view and comfortable bed. Only complaint is that the room is a bit dated and had strong smell of cigarettes even though we asked for non smoking. Afternoons tea is a nice feature

We very much enjoyed our stay . Staff were very welcoming, kind and helpful. Very convenient location, a stone throw away from the beach. A mall is about 10 minutes away in a taxi. The only aspect we feel needs to improve is the breakfast. The menu was always the same which made a longer stay experience a bit boring, not always looking forward to dining. Perhaps changing a few items in the menu every morning will make that exceptional experience. Otherwise, an amazing hotel-keep it up!

An absolute highlight is the pool on the roof with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy your stay. The indoor pool area is als very nice. Our room with large balcony and view of the beach was very clean and spacious. In the outdoor area is a large shallow children’s pool. Nice corners and seating areas invite you to linger. The beach directly in front of the hotel is particularly suitable for families with children. The Hotel also has a children area. The breakfast buffet offers a large selection of delicious Chinese and Western dishes. We enjoyed our stay from the first to the last minute!

The hotel accepts foreigners. The room was spacious and clean, with all necessary amenities. The location is fairly central, and a short bus/taxi ride will take you to the major attractions (it's located just between Laolongtou and Shanhaiguan scenic area). Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was great and varied, mostly Chinese but with good Western options if you prefer. The staff was very nice, gave me apples and two extra bottles of water because it took them a bit to figure out how to register me. Overall, a very good option and great value for money.

The casserole next to the hotel is delicious. The rice 🍚 and the lion’s head side dishes are a must. Everything else is optional. Nice, basic hotel in a great location. 3.0 star Western standard. Room was clean and spacious. Next door to a great shopping mall and walking distance to a beach and local attractions. Breakfast was fine for the price. Housekeeping is hit-and-miss starting in the afternoons. They forgot to restock our toothbrushes and water bottles more than once. We waited an hour for water one night and they completely skipped turndown service the next night. Probably a staffing issue. Otherwise, the stay was satisfactory and we would choose to stay there again.

Second stay at this really fantastic location. It’s such an enjoyable weekend away. The staff are mostly very friendly and welcoming, but I seemed to have the bad luck of being greeted by Ms Attitude who rolled her eyes at me when I asked if she could use English.
