loved the experience, the staff were so friendly and warm. the best trip i ever had in 2024. food was good, stay was comfortable and view was one of the best!! though its on the pricy side but its very worth the deal. the staff were so helpful in all ways, from sharing with you what to do in yunnan to helping us out with our luggage's... bookings and everything! high tea was amazing too with different varieties every day.

We enjoyed our stay here, so when we returned from Shangri-la to Lijiang, we made a repeat booking at this place. The cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff were the main reasons for our return. Location: This place is situated near the border of the Lijiang Ancient City. It is close to the main road (2 min walk) which makes it easy to meet your driver for airport transfer or any tour you join. It is also extremely convenient to get to the main attractions such as Mu Residence (5 min) and Zhongyi Night Market (6-8 min). You will be away from the hustle and bustle at night, and get some peace and quiet. Room: We were lucky that we got a room on the ground floor, as we had very heavy luggage. It would be very difficult to pull them up the stairs if we were on the upper floor. Every room has a different name, and shows that the owners put some thought into giving each of their guests a unique experience. The room we got was of moderate size, with a small sofa area for you to enjoy tea and snacks. There was also a kettle and four cups, and a 5-litre water dispenser that dispensed hot and cold water - I appreciated this, which was more environmentally friendly and generous than other accommodation which gave us 2 bottles of water (500ml each) each every day. The room was also equipped with heating, for the room and the floor, and they were controlled by the front desk. There was also a humidifier. The room's interior decoration was warm and cozy. Outdoor: We also enjoyed sitting outdoors, idling, gazing at the fish, watching the flowers bloom, while enjoying many cups of tea. Toilet: It was of decent size, with a shower cubicle that dispensed hot water pretty quickly. They provided us with everything so there's nothing you need to bring: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, slippers for shower, towels for body and hair, one-time face towels, hair dryer, body lotion, soap, detergent. Service: The staff was hospitable, friendly, and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed chatting with them over many cups of tea, and rose pastries. They even recommended travel routes and restaurants to us, which were very good, and we even got discounts or freebies by telling the restaurants where we were staying. It was easy to communicate with the staff on WeChat, they responded promptly, and arranged free airport transfer for us as we stayed more than three nights. Food: Breakfast was served every morning, which included a bowl of Yunnan mixian (noodles), a steamed bun, a hard-boiled egg, corn, and some spicy preserved vegetables. Every booking came with one serving of afternoon tea, which included rose pastries and a variety of fruits. We arrived after midnight and the staff prepared some rose pastries and fruit for us, in case we would be hungry, which was very thoughtful of them!

The rooms are tastefully decorated and cozy, with comfortable beds that ensure a restful stay. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, assisting with ticket arrangements for Yu Long Snow Mountain and providing insightful recommendations for exploring other attractions. They even go the extra mile by helping with luggage. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and stunning views. It's an experience you won't want to miss!

The location is perfect you’re right in the middel of the ancient city! The staff was very friendly and very helpful with retrieving a lost item at the airport. They invited us for some delicious tea multiple times. The room has a nice view and has all the facilities one needs. The only thing for us was the hygiene, especially in the bathroom.

Great location with lots of food options in the neighborhood a short drive away or a bike ride away. The resort area comprises of Pullman, crowne plaza and Wanda. So if u prefer to eat in one of these hotels that’s an option but much more pocket friendly options in the area too outside of this hotel area but close by. Rooms are comfortable. An outdoor and indoor pool are available but the indoor one water is too cold and needs to be regulated. The steam and sauna are not always on so if u are the first one to use like in my case then u have to wait till it heats up and gets fully operational. Steam worked great but sauna not so good. Jacuzzi was busted and non-operational. Don’t forget to get ur swimming caps as even though outdoor pool one is not required but if it rains u must go to the indoor one as per hotel rules and for indoor u need a cap and to buy one at site is very expensive. The check in desk person Jacky Chen was very nice and helpful. Smooth check in process. Eva he at the breakfast buffet was also very kind and friendly and all the staff generally were good. However the staff at the front entrance gate need to be trained better to talk to customers like they normally should to customers but I felt they were very rude although it was not there intention to be rude. They just need better training. Parking is not allowed around the entrance circle but many people are allowed to park and is not consistent. If they allow one car to park then they should allow all. Local cars should not get preference. Even the help staff at the breakfast should be trained a little more to serve customers as it was quite chaotic. Overall a pleasant stay but some improvements required as highlighted above.

I loved waking up to the gentle sunlight streaming through the latticed windows and the soothing sounds of the courtyard fountain. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable—whether it was recommending hidden local eateries, arranging a sunrise hike to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, or sharing stories about Naxi culture. Their hospitality felt genuine and heartfelt. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable! You’re steps away from the bustling markets, quaint cafes, and the iconic Sifang Street, yet the hotel remains a quiet sanctuary away from the crowds. Don’t miss their breakfast spread, featuring local specialties like Lijiang baba (savory pancakes) and homemade yogurt—it’s the perfect way to start the day. If you’re seeking a stay that combines culture, comfort, and tranquility, Boxin Yunshe·Academic Garden is an absolute must. I left feeling rejuvenated and already dream of returning!

This hotel was the best I could have has asked for, for my first trip without a guide in China and not being able to speak the language. Everything was spot on in terms of the hotel itself and the beautiful rooms and surrounding environment they offer. But what’s most impressive is the service of the staff/owner (not sure), they had helped me since before I arrived in Lijiang, offering car arrangements, room upgrades, and also finding a private tour for me and my friend group. When we arrived, he offered us snacks and also walked us to a local restaurant he recommended. Thank you!

The hotel owner was so kind to us. The hotel is a bit uphill but the owner came to the north gate to pick up our luggages in the middle of the night. He also offered tea for us and upgraded our room with amazing view ❤️ the hotel is clean and has modern look. The owner also offered to send the luggage back to north gate, even though we already checked out hours ago. Thank you very much for the hospitality. (Forgot to take pictures in the room, but it was exactly las advertised) really recommended. *The picture is the north gate of Dukezong city where the owner pick up the luggage for us.

The premise is a traditional Chinese house and has a square garden in the middle. We stayed total 3 nights in 2 different rooms - enjoyed both rooms. The host and crew are lovely, attentive ladies who looked after us throughout the stay. I really appreciate their waiting for us at the entrance of the old town on our day 1 and arranging our taxi to the airport on our last day. Their bedroom, bathroom quality is the best and maintained at the highest level. Rice noodles at breakfast was so good. It is only 5 min walk from the entrance of old town and yet located in a relatively quieter corner of it, couldn't expect better than this.

This hotel located in the Lijiang Old Town, you have to take stairs to go upside its a bit tiring if you bring luggage but as a solo traveller like me I dont find any issue maybe if you bring luggage you can contact the owner to help you, he will be ready to assist you. As the room, I get upgraded room complete with humidifier, air conditioning, TV, hair dryer, towel, etc and here also provide self service washing maching and you can dry your cloth here. All of the room here have good view some.witness garden view, some mountain views depend on which room you book. Most importantly they provide free photography for you. So you dont have to go to Old Town to rent cloth because the view here already magnificent. Its instagrammable picture and you can save your budget here. I love everything here, the staff also very helpful and they provide great service for the guests. I will recommend this hotel to my friend if they come to Lijiang.
