This hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of the room quality and amenities as well as the excellent service provided by the hotel staff. The place was not spiffy clean but also got that that very homey feel. The winter season makes this hotel even more attractive as it comforts you well amidst the cold outside the premises. The breakfast was unique and we enjoyed the variety that was available daily. The location is also the best as public transportation is easily accessible but we were mostly taking cabs as we booked arrangements in other places that were a bit far and this was the last leg of our Japan vacation and we had less strength to us public transportation. We truly recommend this hotel especially to groups and families visiting Sapporo.

The location of the hotel is great. Close to JR, and convenient store is nearby. The room is spacious that you can open two big luggage and still have many room for walking. And I personally love the big window which I can watch the snow from the room.

Hotel room was huge and very spacious by japanese standards. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and a full set of amenities was available for us to use. The massage chair was amazing especially after a full day worth of walking. And the free shuttle bus to Sapporo Station on our last day was very convenient and a life saver! Especially with our heavy luggage bags, it would have been troublesome to have to carry them down the subway stairs. So it really helped us alot! And please do book a space for the bus in advance. However, I wished staff service would have been better. Front desks was very helpful, but on our first night, we called for help in the night because we couldn’t find anyway to turn off the overhead light for the right side bed. When we asked for someone to come and help us eventually, the male staff who came sounded very irritated and unhappy. Don’t know if it was a wiring problem or some setting in the main room control panel, but there was NO WAY we could have figured it out ourselves. In fact, every morning at 7am, just that particular light on the right side bed would turn on automatically by itself and wake me up. I hope that the hotel can rectify that problem.

The service and onsen were very good. Kaiseki breakfast was not really to our liking, but dinner was very sumptuous and good. We had a private space for ourselevs in the restaurant which was very comfortable. However, the food may be appealing to kids. If you are taking public transport like bus to the hotel, be prepared to walk up an elevated road for about 10min. Overall a nice hotel to stay.

We had the pleasure of staying at Portom International Hokkaido, conveniently located within the New Chitose Airport International Passenger Terminal. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the attentive staff, who offered a refreshing welcome drink, setting a positive tone for our stay. The room was a harmonious blend of modern technology and comfort. Amenities provided were plentiful and of high quality, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. One of the standout features of this hotel is its proximity to a variety of shopping and entertainment options within the airport. Overall, Portom International Hokkaido exceeded my expectations in every aspect. Highly recommend this hotel and look forward to my next stay.

Very convenient location, connected to JR Asahikawa. However room is small, if you have more than one big luggage and it will be quite challenging to open all the luggage at the same time. There is a big sitting area at the lobby where you can enjoy complimentary coffee and tea, next to it is a small library.

The staff at the reception speaks fluent English, which is good. Sth dramatic happened after I checked in. Somehow my suitcase cannot be unlocked,though I knew the key number. So I had to call reception for help, luckily they do have the tool to open the suitcase, but I was told to wait because someone else were using it and I was supposed to be called after the reception got the tool. Waited whole night long, with no phone call, and had to check out the next morning with my broken suitcase. So if you find your suitcase cannot be opened, go find reception immediately or u might not get the chance to use the tool, haha

Hotel directly opposite Sapporo station, very convenient, that's a link from the hotel basement to the train station underground, no worries if it's snowing. Check in was smooth, front desk staff are friendly. They provided luggage storage, just use your credit to locked and unlocked, we were away to Hakotate for 2 days, they allowed us to store our big luggage until we got back and checked into the hotel again for a night before leaving Hokkaido. Will stay in this hotel again when my next visit to Sapporo

While the hotel facilities show some signs of age, our overall stay was generally comfortable. However, there was one service-related issue that left room for improvement. Despite making a reservation for three people, including a child, we were told we could only receive towels for two people because the room was originally designed for double occupancy. The staff's rigid stance on this matter was disappointing, and we would appreciate more flexible service in such situations. A simple request for an extra towel shouldn't be such an issue at a hotel of this caliber.

Very pleasant stay here. Very high value for the price we paid. Loved the shower and bath amenities, and how the toilet is separate from the bath area. We also added on breakfast for 1 day and the spread was excellent and enjoyable. Location was great too esp when it was cold and snowing heavily. We could get to the underground in 5-10 minutes. The free coffee and welcome drinks are a very nice touch. Overall my experience was wonderful and I would return again!

Great place! Really big compared to other hotels in Sapporo/big city. I really love sofa. When I arrived, exhausted from a long drive and a long queue of Sushiten, I checked in at the hotel and fell a sleep on this sofa until it’s late at night!!! I love that there is a 7-11 connected to the hotel which you can use your keycard to open another side of the store.

I changed my hotel into this hotel immediately after I watched Conan the Movie 27. I planned my trip to Hakodate since the movie 26 that I know it will take place here. Really excited to come to this hotel. The overall was great. Location so close to the train station. Near many good restaurants. Even though no onsen and room was small, but very comfortable to stay. I felt so relax staying here. However, one thing you should improve, would be the laundry room. 3 washers were there but only 2 can use. One washer with dryer all in one was very inconvenient. Especially when there are only 2 machines. Because only few people can use and it takes more than 80 minutes to finish 1 round. I travelled a lot so I know normally laundry machine should be 2 separated machines: washers and dryers, take only 30 minutes each, and free too. Here you need to pay by coins. Too slow. And very long queue. Can wash only 2 guests per 80 minutes. I brought my book to sit and read in front of the washers for 1 hour in order to wash my clothes. Then about 5 people came in and went back. Then those people came back when they thought the time was right would had been disappointed, because there were other people waiting to put their clothes inside the machines already. Some people came in 3 times. I’m not sure did they manage to wash their clothes or not, or they might had finished it by 5 AM. This is the point you should improve. There are a lot of faster machines nowadays. Find more to fulfill your service.

very big room. Excellent location, near to JR station only 2mins walking distance! Hakodate train is near, only 5 minutes walking distance. Many outstanding restaurants are nearby, like Sushi Soup begirama, Flower see sushi. Highly recommend to choose this hotel although room cleansing services are provided once every three days

Last time I came to Hakodate, I stayed at the famous La Vista Hakodate Annex Hotel (not the one in Hakodate Bay). The experience was very good. However, because the itinerary was a bit rushed this time, I didn't book La Vista. I temporarily chose Century Marina, which has a good reputation. The location is right next to La Vista and is also in the Kanemori Warehouse Group. It takes about 7 minutes to get there from the JR station. Downstairs is the Hakodate Morning Market. The feature here is that guests can choose their favorite aromatherapy and pillows that they feel comfortable with before checking in. There are many choices of aromatherapy and pillows, each with a large row, and there is always one suitable for you. Aromatherapy can be placed next to the pillow to help sleep. La Vista is more famous for breakfast, and I didn't expect Century Marina to be quite good. The variety is very rich and the ingredients are top-notch. During the peak breakfast time, there will be a queue for calling numbers. Many Hakodate-limited ones must not be missed. Beer and champagne are provided, and coffee is from the local brand Meiling, which can be taken away when you leave. The open-air hot spring faces Mount Hakodate, and the scenery is not much different from La Vista. There are indoor and outdoor hot springs. The outdoor one is of course not to be missed, but it will be closed if it rains, so be aware of this. Take an open-air bath while looking at Mt. Hakodate and the streets of Hakodate, and then have a spa after coming out, and the fatigue of the journey will disappear. By the way, the lotion here is particularly easy to use, a local brand, the lotion is very easy to spread, and has a good moisturizing effect. It is sold in the store downstairs for 2,300 yen. It is recommended not to miss it. I searched the entire network but couldn't find it.

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's spending a day or two in Hakodate, for its strategic location, spacious rooms and vast amount of amenities available. The hotel is about 5 mins on foot from the JR station, but just a word of caution if you're travelling with big luggage during snowy times then 5 minutes might feel like it's 15 minutes! The room itself was spacious with basic amenities, but they have free coffee / tea machine on ground floor and in the lounge on L17. Room was clean. Hot spring on L18 was also awesome, with fantastic view overlooking the ”million dollar” Hakodate night view.

Nice room with mountain view. The breakfast is superb. Hotel has parking but with a fee. Very close to shopping and several points of interests including the cable car station

Extremely satisfied. This hotel is perfect and very good value for money especially if you drive as the parking space is plenty and free. Room comes with a small but comfy bathtub. Free soft drinks and coffee in the lobby, late night DIY ramen for free too. Breakfast is brilliant for a 3 star hotel. Most guest and Japanese I noticed.

There are 2 wings of the hotel. A new and old wing. We were in the old wing however parts of the old wing was upgraded. Location is 6 minutes walk to the seafood market and red bricks warehouse. Service is great and comes with onsen

Conveniently located near Hakodate station, morning market, and food streets. I could also easily get to the attractions in Hakodate via the nearby tram and buses. The room was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay. The staff could also communicate well in English and were very friendly. Thanks for the nice stay!

We stayed two nights, one room only and one with dinner and breakfast. Overall satisfactory experience 1) superb view of public onsen at top floor facing the sea 2) good buffet breakfast with nice seafood collection 3) very good dinner set (we upgrade from buffet which is the general option) 4) one of the newer onsen hotels in 湯之川 opened in 2017 only. Will recommend !

The breakfast has little choices. We did not book the buffet dinner as we would like to try other local authentic food. Room a bit rundown. The hot bath pool need renovation as we can see the pool flooring is coated with stains. Need to pay for hot spring tax which this was not made known during booking.

I booked a dbl room during winter trip and didn't want to haul my luggage in the freezing snow. Very convenient and literally acrosss the street from otaru station. Room is a bit old and small but I don't mind. Bathroom is clean. Towel is clean. Pillow is a bit small. Onsen was great. Lobby served fresh grounded coffee all day and night. 1 min walk to Lawson for late night cravings.

Good location next to Aeon mall, inter connected so as not to walk in the open in harsh weather. Nice, clean room with lovely Ocean view. Good breakfast spread and friendly staff. Will stay again if in Otaru.

Good location for those coming with a car, ample free parking provided. Near to Maxvalu, Daiso and a drugstore, Otaru museum and train related stuff and also fish market(pretty cute tho), just beside a Pakistan halal restaurant. Not so far from Otaru Canal, can walk for those counting their steps everyday.

Fantastic location overlooking the canals in Otaru. Best thing about the hotel was having a separate bathroom and a separate toilet… Especially useful when travelling with families! Gorgeous stained glass window and you can see the amazing sunset from the top floor as well  Reception was large and the front desk folk were very friendly and helpful. Overall would highly recommend this hotel  

We absolutely loved this ryokan experience! Stayed for 2d1n as a couple and absolutely loved the place! We booked the room with the private onsen and it was a lovely small space on the 2nd floor we could enjoy privately. The onsen is not too big, maybe 1.5 x 1.5 meters, but it was spacious for the two of us. We also found out that you can book a 45 minute slot for a separate private onsen for about ¥2200, which we may have done instead, had we known about it before booking. The japanese-style room was comfortable and had the usual amenities provided, alongside other nice additions like lotions and creams. The staff helped us to set up our futon (japanese-style bed) after dinner, and it was overall a very comfortable experience. The staff are super friendly and service was incredible. We got the dinner and breakfast package and the food was excellent. We had to choose both the dinner slot in advance, and it is first-come-first-serve. Dinner was served to us in the room over 1.5h and was a really amazing 12-course meal with instructions on the eating order. Breakfast was more standard, but still nice, we took it in the dining hall. The lounge is open till 10pm and we could take drinks and refreshment freely, including some small snacks and soft drinks. But they stop serving beer at 9pm. The onsens also have mini-fridges with free popsicles. There is also an outside area you can access from 3pm - 9pm that serves hot coffee and wine, with free marshmallows you can roast on the outside firepit. It was really nice. The garden is by far the nicest part of the hotel, it is really big and well decorated, with many nice places for photos and to enjoy a hot drink from the lounge. The space is quite large and might take about 20 minutes to fully explore. The only downside I can think of is that the location is quite hard to access. We chose to get to and from the ryokan by taxi, but there is also a shuttle bus service, from what I understand. When we arrived, the reception told us that there would be a shuttle bus leaving at 10:45 to Otaruchikko station. We still ended up requesting a taxi from the front desk though, which they were happy to help us book (I couldn't get any taxis by cab in the location). Overall a really amazing stay that we would absolutely recommend. The price tag might seem high for a ”3 star” hotel, but the ranking is deceptive, we absolutely had a 5 star experience. I stayed here on a trip with my girlfriend whom I hadn't seen in a long time. We came by car from Sapporo, and it was close to Otaru city, so there was a parking lot and it was easy to access. My first impression was that it was luxurious for the price, and for a moment I thought I had come to the wrong hotel. The room we stayed in was on the top floor, the 8th floor, and it was clean and had a great view. For dinner, we had the 2,800 yen sashimi set meal. Everything was fresh and delicious. I was impressed by the garnish (like collagen) that I had never seen before. There were two types of hot springs, and the open-air bath was especially good, but There was only enough space for two people to sit, both inside and outside, so it was disappointing that there was no place to relax after the sauna. In the end, there were so many people that I couldn't sit down after the cold bath, so I just sat in the area to wash my body. I wish they had more chairs. My trip with my girlfriend became a good memory. Thank you.

It says there is a shuttle bus and you need to call to book it, but the front desk can't speak Chinese or English. How can I book it? Did Ctrip cooperate blindly without understanding the actual situation? The room is very dark and the layout is very depressing. It is very suitable for shooting horror movies. The environment nearby is good. You can live in the city. It is cheap and comfortable. You can take a taxi to take pictures in the morning, or take the bus.

The owner put a lot of effort into opening a great hostel. I believe some people may take advantage of learning how to extend their business. Guest all enjoy their stay with quality and competitive price. Definitely will be back soon

The room is very clean and convenient to check in. The bedding is all baby-grade, soft and delicate. The Japanese pajamas prepared for guests are especially comfortable and authentic. The toiletries are all Japanese Pola brands. Simple Japanese meals can be prepared. It is only 150 meters away from a 24-hour supermarket. Shopping and food are very convenient, and all kinds of seafood are discounted after 8 pm every day. Highly recommended!
