In a nutshell, i got the value for my money. The price met my expectations. Although the bathroom is really really small. A 5’9 feet person would struggle to take a shower from it. A couple can definitely not take a shower together, it’s a one person bathing space. Other than that, the rest was all good. I would definitely spend a night there if am in Xiamen again.

Visited my ancestral traditional living squatters built as a consolidated united community for better living environments and survival. There are still many families living in the tulou. Main business is agriculture and tourism. The roads leading to the tulou are made up of irregularly shaped stones. As such, it’s not easy to pull the big luggage along (few hundred metres walk). Recommend to carry backpacks for short stays, leave the big luggage at the tourists centre. Good experience to live together with friendly people whom I can practice my Hakka. They also provide home-cooked meals, reasonable prices. Good food.

The place is easy to find, just near Gaoqi Airport. The room is very clean and the sanitary conditions are very good. The boss is very welcoming, the room is fully equipped, the air conditioner is very warm, heating is fast, slippers, toothbrushes, towels, etc. are all provided. What an amazing experience to live in the “chopsticks” buildings of the four dishes and one soup! This was a small and beautiful village and the family who ran the inn helped us carry our luggage up to the inn and later down to the inn. When we arrived they cooked a dinner which was reasonable in price based on a local menu. And then during dinner, they told us that one of the family members will be running a free tour of the Tulous of four dishes one soup for us in which they explained the history of the building of the tulous, especially the oval shaped tulou. Our guide was very funny with his stories (he spoke in Chinese) and it was a lovely time seeing the artists and candy makers in the Tulous. I would highly recommend this place. We did have to bring our own towels (or at least we brought our own and they didn’t supply one), so maybe best to check.

The restaurant is located next to Wanda Plaza. The location is very good and it is very convenient to eat. The guest room is very large and has a tea table. It is a pleasant stay. The quality of the breakfast is also good, clean and hygienic, and there are many varieties. I chose this store because I thought the transportation was convenient, but I didn’t expect that there are very few buses in Zhangzhou city. It would be difficult to get a bus after waiting for four to five minutes. Moreover, the buses in Zhangzhou have a special feature. If you don’t wave to the bus, the bus will not stop. feature. As it wasn't a busy time and we were staying for a whole week, on check they upgraded us to the Wooden Loft Family Room, which was quite nice. The room was comfortable with big windows and a nice view across the stream to the forest. It was great to have a washing machine and the washing machine had a dryer function as well so we could still dry our clothes when it was cloudy and cool. The smart toilet was a bit disappointing as the controller wasn't very responsive and the flush was very weak. The tub was nice though the water was not quite hot enough to make it comfortable. Most of all we enjoyed the courtyard area and the breakfast/restaurant area, especially the tea room. They are really well designed and organized and provide a nice space to relax and read and write. The breakfast was quite nice, they provide a serving size based on the number of people, though it was often not enough for us and we normally asked for another serving. They also brought a fruit and yogurt platter to the room in evenings which we also enjoyed. The location is convenient to walk down to the Yuchanglou Tulou in Xiabancun, though part of the way will be on the main road which can be busy with traffic. To get to other areas such as Tianluokeng and Taxiacun it is also possible to walk, though again sometimes you have to walk on the main road as there is no walking path or small side road. There is a tourist bus service that goes between the scenic spots and you can even flag them down in between though you are supposed to have purchased a transportation ticket first and that is not striaghtforward to get if you didn't get it in advance. So, most guests come with their own car or rent one. If arriving by train, while trip.com shows the Yongding and Longshan railway stations as the closest, actually the quickest and most convenient station is the one at Nanjing. Also, because the hotel is within the scenic area you do need to purchase tickets to enter, either online tickets or paper tickets at the gate.

The hotel is ideally situated in the heart if Quangzhou midway between the high speed rail and airport and within walking diatance of most of the primary tourist sites. It is conveniently close to dozens of great restaurants around the corner where we found it easy to get an early breakfast or a late dinner. The staff were incredibly helpful upon arrival and upgraded us from the queen room to a king room. The hotel was initially a little hard to find as it is in the lane behind the retail shops in front where the DiDi driver dropoed us The sign is illuminated in Chinese and we were not sure where to go. Apart from that every thing is 5 star. The bed was extemely comfortable and the room was spotless. The bathroom has a wonderful shower with conventional rain head and wand fixtures. The heated mirror is a very nice feature for after showering. The owners takes great pride in their hotel. A traditional tea station is provided with local tea. We can't talk more highly of this Hotel. We have been travelling for the past 60 days and this was by far the best we stayed in.
