"I extended my stay in Room 326 and the 6 electrical wall plugs in the room were not working from 26th December until I checked out on the 28th. The front desk personell worked it out from the main switchboard on the evening of the 26th, but it was out again in the early morning of the 27th. Room lights were working well accept for the power outlets. Unreliable service. I had to lie by the main door to use the corridor electrical wall plugs."

"The room was really good for what we needed. Was just hard washing dishes in the bathroom. The lift was broken, which is out of your control, however it would have made it easier to be able to access the stairs. Other than that, thanks for the stay, would recommend"

"The hostel is good. Beds are really comfortable, with curtains. I was in a 4 bed shared room for one week, it was perfect and I was alone in the room 3 nights ! The kitchen is well equipped, I met some people too. And there is a supermarket right in front of the hostel so it's cool Windows needs to be repaired bc you can't close them completely, some air can still pass and I was right above the ventilation system of a restaurant, so it was noisy because I couldn't close the farm completely (room 614)"

"It’s a good hotel not far away from the center and the main streets. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. I honestly can’t understand the bad reviews, it was a more budget option and therefore not the Hilton. "We have always enjoyed staying at QT Museum Hotel. We were given the option to upgrade to a Seaview room on the top floor with an additional charge. Seeing it is a more quiet room compared to my booking request on the 1st floor near road traffic and rubbish bin area, I paid the extra for the upgrade per night for 2 nights. Our room was not serviced well the following day. Rubbish bin in the bathroom being the only one was not emptied. The Bath and Shower gel was not replenished, we had to asked for it to be refilled. the cushions on the bed was still on the floor from the night before, the ironing board was still left out - I did not put it back as the iron was still very hot after ironing my dress for my conference that morning. The gym facilities was very tired with all towels being used and the used towels bin was overflowing. I was very disappointed with my stay this trip, using shortage of staff since Covid is a very old excuse now. Systems and procedures should be in placed by management to ensure the 5 star ratings is upheld. No point upselling or selling more rooms if they cannot keep customers happy to come back again. This was not only my opinion but that of my colleagues. very disappointing!"

"I love this place! The beds are very comfy, and the bathroom is very spacious and clean. It’s great that the hotel can arrange parking for you at Wilson Car Park, which is just beside the hotel this makes everything so much more convenient. The location is within walking distance of most tourist destinations such as Cuba Street, Willis Lane, the Waterfront, Beehive,Wellington cable car,and Te Papa Museum so u dont need much driving around the town just to explore as u can do all of it by just walking from the hotel. It’s also close to many restaurants and convenience stores. The staff are amazing and very helpful! I also love the Nespresso machine in the room. I will definitely come back and book here again next time!"

MM_PorschaI stayed at Boulcott Suites for three nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent — plenty of eateries nearby (many Asian options), a New World supermarket just around the corner, and Cuba Street all within walking distance. For those driving, private parking is available at NZD 29 per night, though it does need to be booked in advance by calling ahead. The room itself was well-equipped, with nearly everything listed on their website provided. Amenities included tea, coffee, hot chocolate, an infusion tea selection, a coffee machine, kettle, washing machine, clothing rack, clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hair dryer. There’s also a convenient kitchenette with a stove and full set of utilities if you’d like to prepare meals. Do note that some basics like a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, and bottled water aren’t supplied. I just drank the tap water, which seemed perfectly fine. On the downside, I felt the room was a little dusty, which took away slightly from the otherwise good presentation. I had also requested a baby cot during booking and was told it would be included, but it never arrived in the room. It wasn’t a big issue for me personally since the bed was large enough to co-sleep with my baby, but it’s worth mentioning for others who might rely on that service. All in all, Boulcott Suites is a convenient and comfortable choice in the heart of Wellington, with great amenities and an ideal location. With a little more attention to detail on housekeeping and guest requests, it would be close to perfect.

BBenny MarcusAura Hotel is located right next to the vibrant Cuba street and Courtenay place. The room on level 2, block J was spacious and in great condition. However, the first room I was assigned in Block 'N' had a strong, suffocating smell and lacked windows. I called the front desk to request a room change since I couldn't find any windows in that room or the dining area, only to be informed that all blocks in the hotel were windowless. As I walked back to the front desk, I noticed a block with open windows. The front desk staff wasn't happy with me for checking other blocks and also annoyed when I informed him that I knocked on neighboring 5 empty rooms in the Block, without any response, to enquire if they experience the smell too. The personnel claimed that the block I saw was the only one with windows and was fully booked. I returned to my initial room, but the odor persisted, prompting me to return the keys and applied for a refund. After almost an hour, we inspected the room again with the receptionist, and surprisingly, the smell had vanished. Despite this strange encounter, I still opted for a room change. I was given another room in block 'J', which, while also lacking windows, it had a better odour. As I explored the floor after settling in, I discovered several other blocks with windows. This experience reflected very poor service and dodgy misleading information from the front desk. The first six uploaded images are of Block N, while the subsequent images, beginning with the keys, showcase Block J.

TTamuThe staff were very friendly, welcoming & very efficient. They took the time to go out of their way to make us comfortable. The lift & room was just a little bit older around the edges, but still very good! The bed was heavenly-soft & lovely, we just wish we'd had time to rest & relax more than one night in Wellington!

EExploring our one precious worldStayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite. Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas — if you’re unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference. Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though I’ve experienced better quality elsewhere. The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel I’d probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable. One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area — remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in. Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water — a highlight. Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay.

YYaatoh;)I wanted to stay somewhere close to public transport. The main train station is just a stone’s throw away. It is near the end of Lambton Quay- the main drag in Wellington. Also for my friends who live in the outer suburbs of Wellington this hotel is close to the freeway and an easy access to collect me. The room is really clean and spacious and there is a kitchenette with stove and microwave to heat up/cook food. The bathroom is huge and has an accessible shower which is quite impressive.

TTamuWe needed a place to stay in Wellington for a couple of nights and selected Trinity in a random selection online. Criteria were, reasonably easy to get to by car, reasonable proximity to Te Papa and reasonable price. Trinity covered those bases. Online booking was simple as was check-in. Car parking was in a Wilsons building just across the street, arranged by the hotel. The facilities were up to our expectations. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom amenities were all you could wish for. We were away from the hotel all day, so didn't need anything else. We had one evening meal in the restaurant and that was quite adequate in terms of preparation, flavors and portion size. Check-out was straightforward and we were offered storage for our luggage for the day although we didn't need that service. We are well into our 70's but walking to attractions was not an issue. We were more than happy with our stay and in similar circumstances would stay there again.
