Avoid this place like the plague. Honestly I would likely have bumped up a star or two but Saturday night/after midnight RUINED IT. The STAFF decided blasting music at 1am and having a dance party in the lobby would be a GREAT thing to do, guests, who cares?!. So I woke up out of a good sleep, saying WTH is that, thinking it was a passing car. NOPE. The staff didn’t care either when I went down the stairs and gave death stares. Turned music down and then started up two more times when I went back to my room. This place is not fit for Western tourists at all. A throwback to communist Russia. Also staff don’t speak any English, so more an FYI. Says no smoking on a sign in the lobby… and yet cleaning staff smoke in a room off to the side on the 1st floor. Ashtrays in the rooms too (though mine didn’t smell like cigarette smoke thank god). Wifi is a laughable term. It works excellent only with a booster you can get from the front desk, so just keep that in mind. It worked great for work and Zoom once I had that booster. The staff changed my first room as the bathroom stunk like sewage (and there’s no shower door so the floor gets wet, SO dumb). The second room faced the street but the double-glazed window blocks out some street noise and the busy street gets fairly quiet at night. Note: there was no room cleaning service when I was there and you have to ask for the (very good) hair dryer. The second room had only a tub so again, the floor gets soaked. Room decor is soooooo ugly. Again, all manageable except for Saturday night. SHAME on this property and *********** for listing this property at all.
