Disappointing Stay Despite a Promising Hotel We stayed at the Sheraton Xi’an North City during our visit to Xi’an and, unfortunately, the experience fell well short of what we would expect from a 5-star Sheraton. The hotel itself is impressive, with a good location and some very nice facilities. Our suite looked good and, on first impressions, appeared comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is also conveniently located for getting around Xi’an, with the metro nearby and easy access by taxi/DiDi. Unfortunately, the problems started with the room. The air conditioning was not cooling the room properly, and despite having two air coolers brought in, the room remained around 27°C, which made sleeping uncomfortable. There were also issues with the minibar. It was not properly stocked and, after contacting reception, we waited around 40 minutes without the matter being resolved. We were told that a manager would call us back, but that never happened. Eventually, we were advised to order drinks through room service instead. The food we ordered was good, but the delivery took around an hour on both occasions. Housekeeping was another disappointment. Despite leaving towels out to be changed, our room was not serviced before checkout. On closer inspection, there were also cleanliness issues, including a dirty mirror and tabletops and dust around the safe. For a hotel of this standard, this was not what we expected. The positives were the suite itself, the overall appearance of the hotel and its facilities, and the convenient location. The hotel has a Club Lounge, indoor pool, fitness centre and several dining options. However, the combination of the air-conditioning problem, poor follow-up from reception, minibar issues and housekeeping standards significantly affected our stay. Overall, the hotel has plenty of potential, but the level of service and room maintenance we experienced did not match the 5-star Sheraton standard we expected.

Huge rooms with great location near subway station and near department store

Large rooms. Breakfast has a wide selection and includes European dishes. There is a small pool and sauna. The staff speaks English.

Very good location to access Da Ming palace. Hotel is very big and its facility is well equipped. Food is excellent and room has big space for very comfortable sleeping and staying. Especially its customer service is so good and so warm. They help me to solve many problems.

The hotel is great and clean. The price is also reasonable. The breakfast is not fantastic, but considered good enough. It's very convenient for ordering supper.

Nice room with good bedding and towels. Breakfast was a generous spread catering to both western and local tastes. The subway station is only a minute from the hotel and there are two shopping malls just across the road. Only issue I can find is that the air-conditioning was not strong enough even though the ambient temperature was not high and there was a lingering smell of smoke in the room. Otherwise a lovely stay.

The hotel was in a great location and the room and facilities were excellent. What stood out however was the concierge service, they were amazing! Both people we spoke with were so helpful and so accommodating even helping us sort out a driver and guide for a visit to the Terracotta Warriors in the middle of Golden Week!. We would not have had the experience we did if it weren’t for the amazing guide they found us. The team went as far as arranging a late checkout when they realized our flight left a little later, we didn’t ask, they offered. These things and the general level of service, how kind and welcoming everyone was made our stay wonderful. We would definitely recommend booking your stay here.

If you ask me the rooms have had their best times behind time. Staff is amazing and super friendly and willing to help within all requests. The average score has more to do with the state of our/the hotel rooms than the staff

Time at the Sunworld was extremely brilliant. The staff was so helpful and supportive. They speak good English as well which was super helpful. The breakfast was great and there was something for everyone to eat. The room was clean and spacious. Highly recommended. Honestly, I don't any bad words to say about the hotel.

Quite frankly not an international standard five star by any stretch of the imagination. Smoke in the corridors and through the AC, incessant disturbance from housekeeping despite putting the do not disturb sign on and large tour groups making it feel like the Chinese version of Benidorm. Rude staff at the swimming pool and the spa is not operational. I highly recommend not booking this hotel.
