Shame the Van der Valk name has been let down! I have always liked VdV hotels as you know you are getting a high quality, comfortable stay but on this occasion we were horribly disappointed. The rooms we had were pretty shabby! Some doors had chunks carved out, the furniture and carpet was tired and the bathrooms were less than the usual VdV standard with plastic door handles and accessories reminiscent of a ferry or motorway services rather than a VdV-quality hotel. The main bedroom door didn’t seem to close properly, and there was an incessant loud fan noise that droned on all night! To add insult to injury, a pint was served a good inch below the pint mark! Overall, wouldn’t stay here again.

Things had not started well on my first trip to Belgium with lost luggage and canceled flights and I was a little anxious when I first arrived at the hotel. However, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and I quickly felt comfortable and at ease. The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood a short distance from Brussels. The bus stop is nearby and a straight shot to the city or to wherever else you need to go. There are markets nearby for anything you need, and lots of restaurants within short walking distance. The hotel restaurant is beautiful and I enjoyed a few meals there. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The staff was attentive and friendly and I totally enjoyed my stay. I would definitely book here again.

Great hotel. It’s easy to get to and from Brussels and then to be able to tour the Waterloo field was so convenient. Hotel services were great. Beds were comfortable. We did not try the restaurants so we can not comment. It had great free parking which was appreciated.

Excellent for business trips. Staff clearly exceeded expectations, always kind and willing to help. Restaurant is a must, and not only for breakfast. Very comfortable rooms, with everything needed. An undoubtable choice for next trips.

I definitely recommend a stay in this hotel. It offers an excellent quality in all aspects at an excellent price. The rooms are new, modern and clean. The restaurant offers also an excellent choice in food and wine.

Pleasantly surprised and will definitely recommend. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated with all the essentials. Breakfast room is very a beautiful and calming space with very diverse offer.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night and I was disappointed. The room had broken plugs, the radiator was hanging off the wall and they didn’t have not even 1 English speaking kids channel and the breakfast was cold and pancakes were hard. The room is very noisy, I didn’t get a good night sleep because of this and I was woken up very early by kids running and shouting in the hallway. I spent 2 nights at the Mons Congres hotel before this stay, so I had big expectations because it is the same hotel company. However the Waterloo branch is a disappointing experience and I do not recommend staying here. I am very disappointed and unhappy with my stay

Nice hotel with comfortable beds, great breakfast buffet, friendly staff. No gym, which I would expect for a four star hotel.
The restaurant is disappointing and the management doesn’t really seem to value loyalty in its customers, at least they’re not willing to give long-standing customers any special treatment, so service level from that point of view is disappointing.
