Island House of Wanchese

Jeanne was a great host. The suite was cozy and quiet. Bed slept wonderful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices between hot items, friut and juices. Enjoyed our stay, will definitely enjoy another visit in the future. The house has so many antiques and tons of charm and character. Thank you for being such a wonderful host.

We absolutely loved our stay! Quaint rooms with everything you need. The bed was amazing, as was the breakfast with lots of options ranging from various fruits to cooked Southern breakfast staples. We very much enjoyed our conversations with Jeanne, the owner. We definitely recommend the Island House of Wanchese and hope to return soon ourselves!

Classic bed and breakfast - breakfast was delicious and freshly made and the bed and sheets were very comfortable. We very much enjoyed the hospitality.

This was our third BnB on our current extensive trip in the USA. The room and bed were comfortable and clean. The host was pleasant but not overly interested in us as a couple or the trip we are undertaking. There was a good selection of food laid on for breakfast but no explanation to non Americans of what anything was which was a bit off putting when you are not familiar with regional delicacies. The Wi-Fi was terrible which unfortunately was important to us. Our bathroom was tiny, which we appreciate in such older style properties can be an issue but it needed a total upgrade with really poor mastic preventing water escaping. The property looks tired and slightly stuck in a time warp. We did venture out to the gazebo and it was nice to watch the humming birds but with two overflowing ashtrays I found this a bit off putting. This was mid range of the prices we have paid on this trip and didn’t live up to expectation- sorry

I had a lovely experience. First time at a B & B and it was love at first sight. The garden, gazebo, hummingbirds were all beautiful and inviting. Breakfast was delicious and the hospitality was A

Loved this place. It is full of character, and Jean is a great host. The breakfast is second to none, and the cake each day in the afternoon is a really nice touch.

Cleanness wasn’t great, stuffy room and saw a couple of cockroaches in the premises.

The first time we stayed at a B&B and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The breakfast were different each morning but delicious every morning. Would definitely stay here again

The property was just lovely. Beautifully landscaped and such a pretty detached screened porch. The bedroom was roomy and the bed was super comfy. My sister and I stayed the night and enjoyed the staff and felt very at home. We would definitely stay there again !!!
