Review Update: Hotel management reached out and apologized for the negative experience I had. They also offered a solution for the late check-out issue. Based on the response, I changed the ‘One Star’ rating to a ‘Three Star’. Also changed the title to more accurately reflect the experience. Review Summary: Check-in: It took multiple requests to get the required room. Amenities were not available as advertised. Breakfast: I waited 15 min, but no order was taken, nor coffee served – so l left. Note: there were two (2) servers and four (4) guests in total. Check-out: They did not honor a verbally confirmed late checkout. The extra charge was put on the wrong credit card (major issue because company vs private). Only after multiple demands was the charge reversed. Full Disclosure: I’m a frequent user of Best Western hotels and a Platinum member. Read on if you want more details. My 2nd time at this hotel for business functions (large groups). Two years ago, we all laughed the professionalism off as growing pains for a new hotel. But it got worth. Hotel is defiantly in a good location with walking distance to different restaurants and stores. Free parking is provided. The rooms are new with standard times like in-room coffee and fridge. My room was clean, but housekeeping needed to be requested because of staff shortage (another hint of poor management). The gym was large but had no water dispenser and shabby and limited equipment. It was supposed to open at 6:00 but I had to ask a staff member to unlock it (and 6:00 for a business hotel when business travels normally leave around 7:00???). Breakfast opens at 7:00 – again, how should that work for a business traveler. And the disaster in service was outlined above. Called front desk and asked if I could check-out a day earlier and in the afternoon as my work wrapped up already. This request was verbally confirmed (Maybe there is a reason why no email address for this hotel is on the Best Western website nor on Goggle – you will not get things in writing). When I tried to check-out, I was told that they will NOT honor their verbal commitment because of booking and so on. I understand that these last-minute requests can not always be accommodated but then don’t say you will. Of course, at that time and based on the verbal agreement, I already made other travel changes.
