Very disappointing experience! The room was an attic in a different building accessible by climbing 44 steps. Had to be constantly vigilant not to crunch your head on the above beams. Bathroom/toilet was minuscule making having a shower akin to the actions of a contortionist. Staff were very pleasant and helpful but they how often would you interact with them? Finally, the hotel was a nightmare to find given the intensely annoying MAZE of Venetian streets. Would NOT recommend this hotel. But maybe this place is characteristic of Venice. Whatever, I am highly unlike to investigate the situation.

The hotel was conveniently located near Piazza San Marco and near a Vaporetto stop. There was a laundry mat just down the street. We didn't need it, but it was very convenient if you needed to wash some clothes. We received an upgrade from a Classic Double to the Superior room, so that was a nice surprise! The room was very clean and the bed fairly comfortable. No issues with noise. The shower wasn't fully enclosed, so it was difficult not to get the floor wet, but it worked out ok. We appreciated having an elevator to take our luggage up the few flights to our room! The room gave us a little extra space for luggage and a couch for organizing our things. The included breakfast was a nice mix of pastries, meat, cheese and scrambled eggs. They were flexible on what time you came for breakfast, so that helped our group of 6 be able to plan for the day as needed. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful in figuring out how to get to and from the train station. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again if we return to Venice.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and beds, well maintained modern bathroom, AC, good location, and nice complementary breakfast. The staff arranged transport to and from the airport for us at very reasonable rates. Would stay with them again!

This hotel is amazing!! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Three of our family members are gluten free. They are certified gluten free, and the breakfast was no worry for us in that we were assured that they would prepare it with great care. I carry an epi-pen for severe gluten reactions. They even escorted us to a certified gluten free restaurant for lunch and on a map indicated other choices for the rest of our stay in Venice. The rooms were both comfortable and very clean. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Venice, and I assure you that you will be well taken care of. We intend to in the future again. It is also well located in walking distance of Saint Mark's Square and many other key attractions. Venice is a beautiful, unique city and this hotel enhances such an historic location.

This hotel is in a decent location for walking pretty much anywhere. It is a little close to the square, so it can get busy, but isn't unmanageable. The staff were super friendly, the breakfast buffet is average, but the service and cappuccino was great. We were on the top floor so had a little balcony which was nice to have a glass of wine and dry some clothes. The windows do a decent job of sound reduction, but the only real noise was the seagulls.

My daughter and I in a classic double room in the annex, very quiet and clean. Plenty of space, nice shower and excellent free breakfast with yogurt, coffee, pastry, fruit and more. Helpful staff gave directions and tips. Neighborhood is near San Marco, much quieter and less touristy than other areas, but 15 mins walk or less to all the sites. Good directions on website and email communications. Enjoy!

It is very nice Hotel with Venice beauty comfortable rooms. Brakefast is good. From hotel it’s very close to most famous place. Reception people are very friendly and helpfull. I can 100% recommend rhis hotel for everyone. Very nice bathroom, badroom

Wonderful people, wonderful hotel. The desk is helpful and accomidating. (Great Map of hotel's location. It sould be on their website) The breakfast was delishouis and abundant. The room was clean and well apointed. 2 Thumbs up!

We were charmed by this hotel. The lobby and buffet area is pretty and quaint. The rooms are Venice standard small but our family room was plenty big. It is a clean, well maintained hotel in a quiet area. It is near fun shops and excellent local restaurants. I believe it is a family run hotel.

This was our first time staying at Al Piave and we had an excellent experience! Our room was located just down the street in a separate building, and we were surprised and delighted to discover we had a lovely balcony! We made great use of that during our stay. Check in was easy, and the breakfast was delightful! Everyone is so helpful and friendly! I had noted the directions to the hotel from their website, and that came in so handy! Venice is very confusing, so having written instructions made finding the hotel much easier from the Piazza San Marco in the evening. This hotel was very comfortable and clean, with delightful staff. It was very quiet as well in a great location right near Campo Santa Maria Formosa, which offers great restaurant choices. I will definitely stay here again when returning to Venice in the future!

The hotel is in a good area and Google was able to get us there with no problem. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and decorated from a fairy tale. Our room was on the top floor of the building next door to the lobby. There's an elevator but it only went to the floor below ours. Also, the room has a motion activated light in the entry which was a problem at night because it would trigger when walking to the bathroom and it light up a good portion of the room.

Stayed here for 2 nights in September, excellent location! Close but far enough away from the rialto bridge and st marks square. We got the ACTV water bus 2 to the rialto stop and it was about a 8 min walk from there. We stayed on the second floor and our luggage was brought to the room for us which was a nice touch, I believe the lift does not go to the second floor. The room was small, basic and clean which is all we asked for travelling on a budget. The reception staff were also nice and helpful. We had breakfast included in our stay which looked nice but we did not manage to grab any. Definitely would recommend if you’re looking to stay in Venice on a budget!

Very very nice 3 stars hotel with home atmosphere, located in excellent location of Venice! ( 7 minutes walking to all central points) The hotel located on the narrow street with some small stores and restaurants , but we were there 1 week and it was always quiet in the room ,we never felt any noise (may be they have acoustic windows) The stuff was very friendly, the services and facilities was excellent! The room was not big, but comfortable with all facilities and very clean Loved very much the green and organic liquid soap - it was so good and suit for hands body, shampoo and even as shaving cream ! The breakfast was good , and even included hot omelette ( that usually not always served in 3 stars hotels) The dining room was beautiful , designed in Venice style with some Murano glass and pictures . Sure we will order again this hotel , if return to Venice. Thank You Very Much !

Having a family suite in the heart of the San Marco area of Venice made this hotel one of my favorites in over 10 weeks of travel throughout Italy. Family run, attentive, and friendly all apply to Hotel Al Piave. The breakfast is a solid start to the day, and the hotel is a great home base for exploring all of Venice and the surrounding lagoon. Yes, you're a 15 minute walk to Piazza San Marco, but you're also a 15 minute walk (the other direction) to the Fondamente Nove ferry stop to Murano, Burano, Torcello, etc. There's a convenient supermarket less than 5 minutes away, as well as tons of restaurants, shopping, and some of the best gelato you'll find in Italy (Suso!). This is a great choice for your time in Venice!
