The best hotel I stayed in during my self-driving tour in Switzerland. First of all, the hotel is very, very, very beautiful. It has its own large parking lot, free parking, and there is a super large lawn behind the parking lot. Secondly, it takes less than 15 minutes to walk to Interlaken West Station, Chinese restaurants and hot pot restaurants, and the central shopping street. Thirdly, the service is very, very good. The lady at the front desk introduced herself as Italian, so she used Google Translate on the iMac computer at the front desk to explain the check-in instructions to us in detail: there is an elevator to go up and down the stairs 🛗 There is afternoon tea (including coffee, drinks and desserts) from 2pm to 6pm. If you return late at night, you need to use the room card to open the hotel door. Free tourist bus tickets were given, etc. It was very detailed and nice. The room has a pleasant view, the small balcony is very elegant, and the facilities are also very new and modern. There are hair dryers, kettles, disposable mouthwash cups, and enough bath towels. In short, it is a perfect stay experience, recommended!

The people working in the hotel are great, they are very friendly and helpful! The room in general is very clean, but the hotel has many flies flying around, especially during breakfast, there are many flies just lying on the bread and also flying around our food. Location from the hotel to city center is around 20~30 minutes walk, and there is a bus passing by the hotel every 20~30 minutes as well, for us it is alright, but we need to check the schedule to make sure we don't miss the bus, otherwise we will need to wait another 30 minutes for next bus or just walk to the city center.

This is a hotel for summer vacations and it is not recommended if the weather is cold. The location of the hotel is a resort, the scenery is really beautiful, behind the Lake Thun, in the summer, you can row and swim, it is very pleasant to see. But the downside is that the hotel facilities are very general, there is no air conditioning in the room, the bathroom is very small, if the weather is cold, it will be very difficult to come over, I am still caught a cold. There is also a general location of the hotel. It is a little far from the East Railway Station and the West Railway Station. It is suitable for self-driving. There are buses at the door, you can also take a boat. The front desk will give you a free transportation ticket, but the bus in the rural area of Interlaken is very busy. Early, after 7:30, there is no more, only to fight.

Later, the key has been reserved in the front hall. The two single beds in the outside are combined into a double bed, and there is a bunk bed in the room. Others are fine. The bedside lamp is too glaring, and the photo is taken. Things are green for a long time.

Close to the West Station, if you take the bus from the Jungfrau, and the bus is only two miles in an hour, but only two stations are also very fast. Although there are restaurants downstairs in the hotel, it is very quiet. It was the curtain that couldn't stop the light, and the Christmas tree outside was still lit up for a night.捂脸🤦‍♀️

Breakfast is simple. The customer service attitude is very satisfactory. Ideal for business and sightseeing alone. I always use it with peace of mind.

Hotel is a 10-15mins walk from Interlaken West station. Surrounding has quite a number of cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. It is also in a scenic part of Interlaken where you can see the mountains and the blue waters in the stream which makes for great photos. You can also spot para gliders too. If you walk along the lake you can reach Interlaken Ost station in about 20mins or so. Quite a nice walk along the river! The hotel itself is 3-storey. Everything is pretty much self service and there is no reception/staff around - you key in a code to enter the main entrance, and there is a desktop/tablet for you to check in yourself. There is a small luggage room for you to leave your luggage inside. There is also a small common pantry with some basic electrical appliances like kettle and fridge for guests. There is no lift and you have to carry your luggage up the spiral staircase. The room itself is small, clean and simple - just a bed, some hangers and a toilet. There is no TV. Hotel left a toblerone chocolate on the bed as a gift for us which is cute. Also found out that the owner owns a cafe around the corner (called “Spatz”) and we were given a coffee voucher which was nice. We needed some help with check in and we went to the cafe to look for the owner for help, and he kindly helped us.

The Aarburg Hotel & Café is a charming little spot in Interlaken, just a 15-minute walk from Interlaken West train station. While it’s tempting to take the shortcut, I’d recommend sticking to the main road, especially in snowy weather—it’s much easier for pulling luggage. Check-in was smooth and efficient, but do note there are no lifts in this cozy hotel. Carrying heavy bags up the narrow stairs was a bit of a workout, so pack light if you can. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the coffee—it lived up to all the glowing Google reviews. Breakfast was simple but wholesome, with fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, and healthy toppings like dried berries, almonds, and chia seeds. The café is pet-friendly, so don’t be surprised to see a few furry friends around. The room itself was modest but comfortable. However, as the building is wooden, sounds tend to carry. We wondered if we were bothering other occupants but thankfully, no complaints! The location is peaceful, away from the main road, though the church bells that sound at intervals through the night was a little disturbing on the first night. With a supermarket near the train station for quick snacks and essentials, this hotel is both convenient and quiet. Perfect for couples looking for a laid-back stay. I’d happily book here again if I return to Interlaken.
