What an amazing hotel!! The hotel was so beautiful with beautiful beaches. Beautiful pools. A lot of trees. Service was amazing. Good breakfast. Comfy room and amazing view from the balcony. Also free boat service to go to a nearby island. We were sad to leave this hotel and wished we stayed longer. Really there’s nothing negative we can say about this hotel. We will definitely stay here again next time we come back to Mauritius. Oh and they also gave us a bottle of white wine in the room! Now we are staying at another 5 star hotel but Shangri-la was so much better.

Great resort with great service. Spacious and a well thought out layout, with a more ‘adults’ side a more family friendly side. Would stay again.

The Japanese restaurant is a bit salty, the buffet has a wide variety of dishes, the environment is elegant, and the butler is also great

The Shangri-La has a private island, they take you with a small boat and you can spend the day there with restaurant and deckchair. This is really beautiful. The rooms are good, we took a suite which gives access to the beach. The restaurants are very good but a little expensive.

One of if not the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in worldwide, and the best I’ve stayed in on Mauritius (have previously stayed at Four Seasons, Anahita, Constance, Maradiva, Heratige). Everything from the rooms, to the staff, to the views, to the food, to the beaches, to the pools, to the watersports, to the private island, to the spa, to the gym was essentially flawless. The restaurants and bars look spectacular after the renovation! Special mention to Jean - Marc, Juahan (on the island) and Ponnen - all of whom consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be! If I was going to have a grumble about anything it would be that we’d have liked more starters / picky bits on offer at the buffet given the price they charge for it, but the quality of the food was really good nonetheless. If you’re hesitating, don’t, just book it! We will definitely return.

Definitely the best hotel I've stayed on Mauritius. The luxury is discreet and elegant. The food is extremely delicious no matter Indian if sushi restaurant you choose. The typical Mauritian massage in SPA center is magical. And the staff are very kind and helpful. I fall in love with villas. They are 3 with private road, door, cooking chef and butler. But the most important is privacy, peace, you oun access to beach. The villas have 3 bedrooms and are very well decorated with ceramic and lava sculptures. Shangri-la hotel have also a private island for day activities or relax. I want to come back!

We came here for the first time in 2024 immediately before the refurbishment and we loved it even then . The location and the wonderful staff make it a very welcoming place to come . The refurbishment has been subtle and focused on maintaining the hotels historic character whilst adding a whole new level of style and modern chic . The Restaraunts , bars , beaches and pools all create a sense of plenty of space even when the hotel is full. The food throughout is of the highest quality with a French attention to detail. The serving staff and beach teams are warm friendly and attentive they make every guest feel special . Guests do come with children but this is not a child centric resort . Children like all guests are of course made very welcome but be prepared to entertain your own if you do . It’s relatively expensive too. A couple can easily run up an extras bill of four figures ( sterling , Euro or USD ) in 7-10 days but that also reflects the polite and pleasant clientele who mostly come from Western Europe, France Holland Germany Uk etc . I think you will know what I mean . We tend not to revisit places but we made an exception with this one . I have a feeling that we may well do that again .

The perfect honeymoon. In particular the service from Anil was outstanding, so personal and caring. We really enjoyed our 9 nights here!

We booked Shangri-La via Emirates Holidays on half-board basis. This was one of the best holidays we have had! Check-in itself was relaxing! We had a view of pool and out to sea, and were offered cool drinks and towel. Shown around room which was really helpful. Room' spacious and clean. Loved the amenities. Balcony was great to sit on in evenings. Beds comfortable. Housekeeping staff were awesome; we often left room only late in afternoon, and yet they still cleaned daily, including turn down service. Food was excellent in all restaurants. We loved the different buffets. Safran and Kushi also great for dining, beautifully presented. My dad is vegetarian, he has sufficient choice and enjoyed food too. Liked the live stations e.g. omelettes, crepes, plenty of choice. Food was really fresh as well. Spa was relaxing, thoroughly enjoyed the treatments. Also well fitted out gym. Beach was clean and well maintained. Beach recliners were relaxing. We spent most of our days on the beach. The staff were the best aspect of the stay; every single member of staff helpful, attentive, pleasant to chat to, caring. The best staff group I have come across in a resort, they were amazing. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Already planning when we can come back!

We visited the hotel in June 2025 and would like to leave a special mention for Dastageer. From the moment we arrived he made us feel welcome, checking us in smoothly, answering all our questions, and ensuring we were well looked after throughout our entire stay. His service and support were truly outstanding and we are very grateful for his attentiveness. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with elegant surroundings and a warm atmosphere. The breakfast staff also deserve high praise; they were exceptionally good at their job and made each morning a pleasant experience. We highly recommend this hotel and would love to return in the future.
