While in Cairns for 2 weeks, I booked 3 places to stay along the coast to get a feel for all the areas. I kept the Sea Change as our coup de grace as it was the most luxurious of the three. When we arrived, there were two letters for me. The first one stated the Sea Change had UPGRADED our room to a 2 bedroom apt from a 1! How nice! Further in the letter they state that if we use the 2nd bedroom however, we would be expected to pay an additional $40 per night (see for yourself) it was really tacky & laughable. I was embarrassed for them quite frankly. The next letter tells me that during the months of Oct & Nov, the building would be painted but that this should not be an inconvenience to me. The letter also indicated that people who made reservations would have been alerted to this in advance (I was not one of those lucky ones). Looking forward to taking a nap upon our check in, the painter was directly out the bedroom window for the remainder of the day which prohibited that. (not his fault-he was doing his job) The next day, we headed out & couldn't find pool towels. Upon our return, we learned if we needed pool/beach towels, we needed to RENT them from mgmt! Yikes! Our last morning, I wanted to have coffee out on the balcony, but alas, painters had erected scaffolding directly in front of our coffee table at 6am! I am shocked that management even rented this unit. Painters were not to start til 10 but they were there bright & early! I should have a full refund.
