Meadowlands Hotel

We recently stayed at The meadows hotel in Tralee for one night , The reception staff where very nice and welcoming our arrival, The double room was large and had a bath with overhead shower and plenty of room for guests toiletries beside the sink which was large , The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was well soundproofed so we had a great nights sleep, There are plenty of spacious seating areas for a quiet drink or a lovely bar with background music and a large screen for watching live sports etc but the sound is not to loud as not to be able to have a conversation with anyone, Bar staff also helpful, Breakfast was excellent with your tea/coffee and warm food order taken by the waiting staff who I must compliment for there friendliness and professionalism at all times as nothing was to much bother, You can also help yourself from the continental assortment which again was excellent consisting of fresh fruit, Breads , cereal, jams , Ect , I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a short or long stay if touring this part of the world, Also there is plenty of parking at the hotel so had no problems getting parked in a safe place, Thanks to all the staff who made us welcome we really appreciate it, We will definitely return soon 😁

Meadowlands is a nice hotel, madly let down by its ancient and ineffective plumbing. The toilet didn't flush properly, the taps were difficult to turn on and off properly and the shower was pathetic, with no water pressure at all. However the staff were lovely. Breakfast was mediocre, though served very swiftly. Frank's Bar served an excellent evening meal which was very good value for money.

I recently stayed at the Meadowlands Hotel in Tralee, Co. Kerry, in May 2024, Unfortunately, my overall experience was quite negative. From the moment we checked in, the greeting we received set a poor tone for our stay. The receptionist greeted us with a dismissive "Can I help ya," which made us feel unwelcome. This is not the kind of reception you expect at a hotel, where a warm and professional greeting is standard. When we checked in, the receptionist did not provide any information about breakfast times. She simply handed us the key and instructed us to "take the lift." This lack of basic information was quite disappointing and left us feeling confused about the amenities offered. We paid extra for a "Suite" which had a jacuzzi bath, but the jacuzzi jets did not work. There was a sign indicating this issue, but we had previously stayed about 18 months prior and noticed that the same sign was there. This suggests that the hotel did not bother to fix the problem, which was disappointing as we had paid extra for this feature. To add to the disappointment, the water in the bath was cold within 5 minutes of being full, and when I tried to top it up with hot water, the hot tap only gave cold water. Furthermore, the fridge in the room did not work, and the TV's "Netflix" feature never worked, despite the hotel heavily promoting their smart TVs with Netflix. That wasn't even half of the problem. We had a dining voucher for dinner and were told not to book a table because it wouldn't be busy. However, when we arrived for dinner, we had a 15-minute wait for a table with no place to sit, so we had to stand at the bar. When I asked for a "Malibu with Coke," the server replied that they didn't sell Malibu, even though I could see it behind the bar. I settled for water, but later, another server confirmed they did serve Malibu and brought me one. For dinner, my partner ordered the Special Feather Blade, and I ordered a burger. My partner was served a 32oz steak instead, which was 10 euros more expensive. My beef burger was extremely salty, making it inedible, and the side of coleslaw tasted off. When I explained the issues to the server, he just replied, "OK, can I get ye some dessert?" No attempt was made to correct the main course issue, and I was not offered an alternative. We ordered desserts because I was still hungry, having been unable to eat my main course. When we received the bill, we were charged for everything, including €19.95 for the beef burger and chips I couldn't eat. After expressing my concerns to another staff member, he seemed annoyed but eventually took the burger off the bill and only charged the correct price for the steak, which we had not ordered. The dining area seemed busy, which is understandable, but despite having plenty of staff, it was difficult to get anyone's attention. Breakfast the next morning was just okay, but the overall experience has completely turned me off from ever staying at Meadowlands Hotel again. In

Just back from a fantastic weekend trip at Meadowlands Hotel. Beautifully kept Hotel inside & out with heaps of old Irish charm & spotlessly clean. Breakfast each morning was lovely, food in the bar was excellent, no complaints in that regard. Super location for the ring of Kerry, Dingle & Killarney a short drive away. For us the jewel in the Crown were the incredible staff ,absolutely everyone we encountered was friendly, polite & extremely informative. Honestly nothing would be too much ... I'd nearly go as far to say that they'd tuck you into bed at night time if you asked. Genuinely lovely people & an absolute credit to the business. I'd highly recommend Meadowlands Hotel & look forward to visiting again sometime.

Experience was amazing from check in to check out , lovely blonde woman checked me in was nothing short of being very kind and welcoming , room was fabulous extremely comfy sleep was had , beautiful bar , lovely food and beverage staff had a fantastic dinner and drinks to chill out with after a long day of travelling

We had a lovely stay at Meadowlands Hotel. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The onsite restaurant had lovely dinner and breakfast. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were friendly and accommodating. Parking was also free and super easy and convenient. We were only passing through, but I wish we could of stayed longer. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights with a group of 20 from Canada and it was wonderful. Check in was organized and the desk attendant cheerful and helpful. Rooms were spacious, clean,beds clean and comfy and lots of fresh clean towels. I had a leak in my bathroom basin and I told the desk attendant the first morning I was there and when we came back at the end of the day it had been fixed. Not likely you would get that type of service from a large chain hotel. The dining room with it's stone and woodwork is a reminder of "old Ireland" and the food was delicious with huge portions and options. I would not hesitate to recommend the Meadlowlands to anyone or to return if I was ever in the area.

My wife and I enjoyed a three night stay at the hotel and enjoyed it immensly. The room was very well appointed and the staff and service were first class. Excellent breakfast and waiting staff. Ideally placed with a 15 minute stroll into Tralee centre and well placcd for touring the area.

I stay in my fair share of big chain hotels, often in big cities so after a while you know when a hotel is excellent and different. I loved my stay here. Tralee is a quiet town and that is part of its charm, there are no Hiltons or Hyatts or Premier Inns and the streets are not full of the usual generic coffee shops and fast food outlets. My room was great and had everything I wanted. It was spotless and everything worked perfectly. Great range of food in the restaurant which was of good quality. All members of staff were really helpful. I have one observation about the staff: they are young and local (especially in the restaurant and cleaning) but they have clearly been trained to a very good standard. There are also supervising staff that are almost invisible, have a great relationship with the more junior staff and make sure everything runs perfectly, whether it is in the restaurant, conference rooms or during cleaning of the bedrooms. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the Tralee area.
