Convenient location just few minutes walk away from the subway station, close to museum and the university. The area is very bougie with plenty designer shops, expect to pay over 60CAD per person to dine out. Comfortable stay in a beautiful apartment, just it was quite warm and not easy to adjust the AC temperature. Check in process isn’t the swiftest, but once that’s done all good.

The place was really nice, I would definitely recommend!

I originally booked the 2/2 presidential suite; and instead received something else. Far-fetched from the pictures in my booking. When I complained about it not being what I paid for, the rental manager offered to provide me a curtain to divide the living room into a second bedroom for privacy. When I asked if there was another 2/2 available, he stated the only other room is the presidential suite and it was already rented out. I was confused. For sure my email confirmation states I booked the presidential. I even showed the manager. I also originally paid for an early check-in, but because of the mix up, we didn’t get to check in until late. My party and I had to stay in separate rooms and due to the mix up. We were given only one set of keys per room. And because of the key fob settings in the elevators, it has become impossible for the rest of my group and I to meet. We were only able to meet up in the lobby. The suite I was staying in is relatively smaller than the average deluxe room at any other hotel and space is very limited for 2 people. It was more like a tiny efficiency. The bathroom sink water smelled like absolute raw sewage and the toilet water pressure is extremely low. After checking in, we noticed our room was a bit hot. We were told the building controls the AC and if we were hot, to open a window. The room only had one window with the ability to open and it was super small. Big enough to rid the room of humidity but too small to cool the room down. Every morning, my husband and I woke up sweaty. Our room also had electrical outlets that wasn’t working. I was forced to charge my phone at night on the kitchen countertop rather than the usual night stand. The room closet was so small, my carry-on luggage couldn’t fit through the door. Overall I had a really bad experience and would like a partial refund. The only reason I didn’t check out, is because I didn't want to uproot my guests in other rooms in the middle of the night. customer service pretty much stated they did all they can do and to figure it out on my own, then reiterated the fees are all non refundable.

The rooms themselves are nice. However there is a beat and switch immediately. When you book the two rooms suite. The one in the picture is not the one you get. Next, we had one non-functional shower for most of our stay and had many communications with the property. They attempted to fix it twice and only on our very last night before leaving. Was it fixed. It disrupted our entire vacation because they could not enter the apartment and we had to continuously follow up and be in the apartment when they came. They did not have a backup set of keys to enter so we had to give them our backup set. The front desk people at the property are rude and disrespectful. We were just sitting there waiting for our Uber ride and the front desk person. Question why we were sitting there and then proceeded to be disrespectful to us. In addition, similar to other reviews, the shades actually increase light in the apartment and at 7:00 a.m. you will be completely awake. For those that want to sleep in or want to not get woken up by blending light, this is not the place to stay. It is not worth the price for any reason due to just this reason alone. Communication with the property was pretty horrible and I've tried to follow up to get a reimbursement for the various issues and they claim I never even contacted them to get the shower fixed. The booking agency has not been helpful and I'm now disputing the charge of my credit card company. I would avoid this property!

I’ve stayed in thousands of hotels over the years and have never had such a terrible experience like with the Avalon Suites. Beware of this terrible hotel! We arranged for a 6 night stay in the Avalon Suites and when we got to our room it was stiflingly hot. The air conditioning did not work. We kept trying to turn the heat down and have the fan on but the fan just blew hot air. We opened the only tiny window and it didn’t cool the room at all. We barely got any sleep. When we booked the Avalon Suites the advertising was clear - air conditioning was included. We spent most of the next day trying to get assistance but were generally ignored by the staff. They rarely answers the phone. At one point they promised us a different room. At another point they said they would fix the AC but then said it was off for the winter. We told them we would like them to refund the remaining nights of our stay (we had 5 nights left) if they could not fix the problem. They didn’t even attempt to fix the problem and we finally gave up later in the afternoon and booked another hotel and left the 30 degree sauna. No one could tolerate a room like that. We politely asked for W refund and hers’s the response we got: “I know how frustrating it was since we didn't meet your expectation. We, Avalon Suite Yorkville are apologizing for all of the hassle and inconvenience that it caused you and your partner, and this is not the service that we want you to experience in Avalon Suite. Sorry about not changing your suite. We decided not to change your suite because it's useless due to all of the AC is centralized to all of the building and you will experience the same issue with one resolution and open the window so the room temperature will get cold. With regards to the refund, unfortunately, we will not offer any refund on this matter. It is firm and non-negotiable. Hoping for your understanding. Best regards, Avalon Management” So we are out $1100. Don’t ever stay there people!

Unfortunately the room was not at all clean, furniture was not in good shape and the standard in general was poor. We rented three rooms and two of them was not in good standard. I was lucky that my 83 old parents at least had an average experience. I will not go back to this apartments thou the area has everything u want and offers good shops, restaurants and nice surroundings.

The room was not the greatest, the floorboards were peeling and the walls had stains and scratches all over. It felt more like we were at a motel than a luxury hotel in Yorkville. The sheets smelt weird and were not comfortable to sleep in. We would not stay here again and we advise others to steer clear.

Great staff and location! Will be staying there again! I enjoyed the gym. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was a very handy feature. I especially enjoyed my morning Nespresso in the kitchen nook overlooking Yorkville.

I visited Toronto on a business trip and needed a place last minute. This is not a typical hotel, it is more like a rental apartment you have for your stay. The lobby personnel were rude and rushed me during check-in. The room was in okay condition but not the cleanest: there was dust on top of the shelves and on the windows. They should definitely use more attention to detail while cleaning. For an apartment in the Yorkville Area, their furniture is very cheap, and not durable. Their mattresses are so uncomfortable and YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE IN YOUR ROOM. I get really hot when I sleep and want to turn down the temperature. Upon doing it myself, and having no luck I called the host asking for help. They basically told me that they can't lower it anymore and that I have to just open the windows and "hopefully" the room cools down. Really unprofessional and did not try to help me at all. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone, it is not clean, it's too expensive for what you get and their service is terrible.

We stayed in this condo while visiting in Toronto, perfect for my husband and me and our daughter, who slept on the couch. Yorkville is a great location close to many restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and the TTC (multiple stations). Tracy was wonderful, met us upon check-in to ensure that we had everything we needed. When we requested some things, she was able to get them to us quickly and always with a smile! We didn’t use the small kitchenette but the unit was well stocked with plates, glasses, cooking utensils, etc. The building was very secure. And the view from our unit on the 27th floor was great! We would definitely stay here again!
