Clafouti Beach Resort - A Seafacing Resort

Hello travelers how are you all. We were at this resort (nov'24) and it was an amazing vacation..one of the beautiful resorts at the cliff. We booked a deluxe cottage and the room was sufficient for a couple with a toddler kid. Lacking in a few basic amenities like hot water kettle, tea sachets , mini refrigerators were not in the room. Which ideally should be there. Rest all good, very friendly and professional staff, there to help u with anything u need. They have kerala ayurvedic spa as well but service of spa was average not that great and not up to the level of Kerala ayurvedic massage you can have at some other cities. The best part was the view from the resort of the sea and their restaurant serving amazing lip smacking dishes especially sea food. One of the best sea food we had at clafouti restaurant at Varkala. Daily fresh catch and you can pick n choose and ask to make it as per your taste. Price wise as well as very reasonable food. A must to visit restaurant and you can definitely choose to stay here as well. Only one thing is good i.e it is near beach .Rest things are not good.Rooms are not well maintained having foul smell also having lot of stains on walls ***** with lot mosquitos and flies. If you just want to spend one night than choose it else to enjoy your tour select some good hotel .

I visited the Clafouti Beach Resort with my family in Nov 2023. We had booked a DELUXE VILLA ROOM. It was clean, well maintained and sufficient for our family. We got a clear view of the sea from the top of north cliff just outside our hotel (no sea view from room). The location is very beautiful and the staff was courteous. Special mention about the restaurant, we were very well taken care of and the food was amazing & very delicious. In spite of so many options nearby we ended up eating in our resort restaurant most of the time. All the major hotspots are close by. This is located in north cliff and black sand beach and the temple are walkable from this resort. Since its on hilltop, access to the beach was quite tough. We had to walk down steep stairs to get to the beach. Complimentary breakfast could have been provided. Food was reasonably priced. I would definitely visit again.

We booked Royal Villa Deluxe for 2 nights and 3 days, the room was pretty and decent but the staff and service was very bad, at first when we reach there the staff was unaware about the booking and took us to very cheap room as compared to what we booked. The receptionist doesn’t speak hindi or english so it was very frustrating. You have to pay for every second water bottle. staff is not at all friendly or polite. You can only book the room for the view. It is very close to the beach. The view from the room is also very pretty.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. Staff were friendly and professional. Location is excellent. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. It’s reasonable VFM. The restaurant does not look much from the outside, however the food is consistently excellent. Numerous travellers recommended it and once we tried it, we used it regularly. Fresh fish suppers, great breakfasts (particularly good Shakshuka). My criticism is that our rooms did not have WiFi - so we had to sit outside/go to restaurant to get online. There is a very good Yoga instructor next door, ***** with a decent ice cream shop! The walk to the beach is short, and there are loads of shops and restaurants nearby.

It's a been a nice experience. We opted for small rooms as per availability but they do provide villa type rooms which are pretty good. Family type resort. They had a magnificent cliff view by the beach multiple cafes around the corner. One can have a cool nytt lyff . U can capture beautiful pics and views . Must try their massage spa . Facial massage was very good . Must try the restaurant inside the resort , they serve tasty continental food. Must try Thai red curry and rice and also fried rice
