It usually takes me a couple of days on a vacation to get in a relaxed mode. I arrived at Bishops Lodge a ball of stress and was astonished to find just a few hours later feeling so relaxed and at peace. The resort rooms are scattered over the vast hillside property in which cars do not enter. The staff will assist you with a golf cart ride whenever needed. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. A talented designers take on a chic and livable Southwest theme. We stayed in the Pines group of rooms. The view is spectacular. The restaurant is so gorgeous with delicious food. If you didn’t want to leave the resort, you never have to worry about not eating beautifully. There is a gorgeous, well appointed terrace with an outdoor fireplace that is so lovely. The staff to a person was always kind. The service is sometimes slow, so pack a bit of patience, but they are so kind and caring it doesn’t matter. The views are stunning. It’s easy to understand why the spot has been chosen for almost 200 years as a peaceful place to contemplate the world. The pool is perfect- great size, and has a hot tub. The gym has fabulous equipment. We rode horses and also did a “creative living” painting session, which was so fun. The concierge was so helpful when we needed her. Great suggestions, and skilled at honing in on exactly what we wanted to do. The restaurant attracts visitors from outside the Bishops Lodge which made fun people watching and gave us opportunities to meet more people which was great. The resort is dog friendly, and it was so nice to meet so many wonderful pups. I can’t wait to go back.

Outstanding location, outstanding…and if you looking for amazing vistas and like to do things on your own (walk steep, steep hills, eat/drink after 10:30, etc.) this is the place for you. The staff is predominantly off-putting, as every request is met with an eye roll. The lounge waitress just slammed drinks on our table because, only guessing here, it would have been easier if we just didn’t order anything. The 20% gratuity thrown on every bill - bottle of water, Advil, etc. would be fine, if it was met with a level of service where I would be happy to put on additional tip (it was not). Although, I am in very good shape the extreme walk from my room to the car area was the deciding factor in doing many things. While they had people who would transport you on a golf car (by far the friendliest staff in the resort), it was always an issue to get a cart as they had these folks doing other jobs. Everything closes early - 10:30pm, so nighttime fun has to be done elsewhere which is a pain as ride sharing is limited and the resort is secluded. Does not meet Auberge service in any way…if looking for limited service and early nights this might be the place for you.

The rooms are charming. We have stayed in the chapel house, bunk house, waterfall (twice) in the past and each space is thoughtfully curated. The food is excellent and the coyote kids club and stables are well tended. The property could be extraordinary with a little more attention to local products and service, but its still one of our favorite family places, We also like the Four Seasons, which has a better pool, but less soul. This was our fifth trip here as a family with kids ranging between 6-20 and we all had a nice time. The property is spread out and it was a long walk to our room. Though there are golf carts, they are not as plentiful as you might like if you have any mobility issues, that said the property is lovely and the historical chapel is super charming. The staff are special people who show care and kindness. We appreciate the GM of the restaurant and the servers, bartenders and chef and the quality of their love for food and service. The trail guides are the sweetest cowboys your lucky to meet, who love the land, the animals and their jobs and share this generously. Both times we went trail riding, we adored the guys who took us out.

We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary in Santa Fe and decided to stay at Bishops Lodge instead of staying right in the historic Square. We had no idea how close the location was to the Square and the ease of taking a shuttle into town. The grounds, pool area, activities, staff and cuisine were all exceptional! it was truly paradise, and we hiked on the grounds each day, went on a guided horseback tour, got a couples massage at the Spa an dined at the Skyfire restaurant for 2 of the nights...outstanding! We are envisioning many family gatherings here in the future!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bishops Lodge. The resort was magnificent, and the resort staff was very engaging. We hiked on several trails, on property, and enjoyed a guided hike with Mark from the Adventures staff. We also enjoyed the Wine Wednesday tasting with Missy. Fantastic experience!

We are a family of five (children ages 13, 16, 16) and we live in Albuquerque. We visited Bishop's Lodge with my mother to celebrate her 75th birthday. We had a very enjoyable dinner in a private dining room. The dinner service was excellent. We enjoyed the private room for 3 hours and ate a delicious meal. We enjoyed a daytrip to Ghost Ranch with a private tour. Bishop Lodeg provided a luxurious and relaxing basecamp for our trip. We enjoyed the very well-equiped and clena gym and the relaxing pool and spa area.

Bishop's Lodge is a unique 300+ acre setting in the Sangre le Crista mountains. The property gives off an aura of a New Mexican village with the hillside speckled by adobe structures, book ended by large lodges, an old chapel and a barn-like bunkhouse. I relished my swanky, expansive, king-resort-view room with kiva fireplace, airy bath and gated outdoor patio. The decor embraced a Santa Fe look with leather, hand carved furniture, animal skins, old paintings, woven items, Pendleton blankets, silver ornamentation, all providing a taste of 'cowboy flavor'. The hotel is home to 2 dining options: the Two Dogs Cafe, generally a grab'n'go breakfast facility and the hotel's signature restaurant, the Sky Fire that serves up Southwestern dishes. I did like the Yellow Corn Pancakes for breakfast, Green Risotto for dinner and their infamous 'Holy Margarita'. The Stream Day Spa is a fine wellness sanctuary & healing arts studio embedded with spiritual healing & locally traditional treatments. I opted for the 'Stress Relief Massage' utilizing aromatherapy & Swedish techniques to relieve my tight muscles. A year round heated pool, gym, art gallery, craft workshops, sacred meditation, fly fishing, horseback riding are great extended stay activities. So, if you are seeking total immersion in nature .................then try the............................ ..............Bishop's Lodge..........transformative spa experiences rooted in nature.

We had an executive offsite here and everything was perfect about it. We were able to focus on the purpose of the meeting, while the staff took care of everything else.

I don’t normally write reviews during my travels, but this needs to be said. I was traveling on a girls trip to Bishop’s Lodge, which is absolutely beautiful and located 10 minutes north of Santa Fe, in Tesuque. It’s truly a magical place. But as I traveled through the historic village of Tesuque, I noticed signs EVERYWHERE saying Bishop’s Lodge is polluting water. Out of curiosity, I learned Bishop’s Lodge is dumping their wastewater into a small creek which is effecting this small neighboring community and others downstream, including pueblos. I even went on a hike along the Tesuque Creek during my stay, and I was absolutely appalled at what they are doing! I WILL NOT SUPPORT BISHOP’S LODGE OR AUBERGE UNTIL THIS STOPS. I’ll be staying elsewhere from now on. I hope other’s do the same.
